Checking in on Kevin Martin Trade Watch

The Mavs and T-Wolves are the two latest teams said to be interested in Martin’s services: “League sources say Dallas remains among the teams hoping the Kings change their stance regarding trading shooting guard Kevin Martin, and the slim chances at a deal can only be aided by each team’s recent play. The Mavericks have lost four of their past five games, including Friday’s loss to lowly Minnesota. The Kings have lost 19 of 22 with Martin continuing to struggle and chemistry with his teammates clearly an issue. Any deal sending Martin to the Mavericks would likely have to involve a third team. Additionally, sources say Minnesota has considered adding Martin to its backcourt.”

The only thing that I’m surprised about is that they are after someone who is not a point guard.

lol@niQ. Dallas does like to stockpile injury-prone shooting guards in similar fashion

so like i said earlier, Dallas needs to get on this, they’ll have a legit 2 guard.

to me martin is not much of an upgrade to terry cos both can’t do much on defense, just hope the celts don’t take him
anyways whoever gets martin and puts him as a starter, takes a step back, he’s a jamal crawford with poor handles

Kevin Martin is a great player. but not to a contending team. Minnesota would be a good fit, they need a scorer.
but i think he could step in and help the celtic to be honest.
    Dallas also.

KM to Minny sounds good. Get him w/ Al Jeff and my dude Johnny Flynn and now you’re starting to cook. Will not make an immediate impact though, but add some draft picks and they may be sayin’ somthin.

C’mon Fontaine. The chances of Minny trading Al Jefferson and Flynn for Kevin Martin are slim to none (even with draft picks). Minn traded KG in a package to get Jefferson and they are not going to flip him along with a promising PG who happened to be a first round draft choice in 2009. Minn is finally healthy (as a team)and my money is on Flynn, Love and Jefferson staying put.

Martin would work better in a trade with the Celtics for Ray Allen, if the C’s decide to breakup the big 3.

  • The D Train

pretty sure Fontaine means trading other Wolves for Martin and teaming him up with Jefferson and Flynn on the Wolves

  • Cant Tell you

He didnt want to trade him he was saying he wanted them to pull the trigger and pair him with flynn and Big Al

  • J-Ro

I’m surprised the Cavs aren’t in on this one. They always seem to be around all trade rumors.

dumb for dallas especially if they trade him for howard… kevin martin gets hurt just as much or as more than howard

At least Josh Howard TRIES to guard people.

  • doyouwantmore

Kevin Martin is FAST. And the guy is an amazing shooter. Talk sh$# about his D all you want, he’s a top 10 (if not top 5) pure shooting guard in the NBA. He’s the anti-Larry Hughes I guess.
