Don’t Forget About Miami in Amar’e Derby

The Cavs aren’t the only team aggressively negotiating with Phoenix for Stoudemire’s services: “The Miami Heat have intensified their efforts to trump Cleveland in the chase for Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire, sources close to the situation said Monday. The Heat emerged from the All-Star break even more determined than they were before to find a third team to help them broker an Amare deal before Thursday’s 3 p.m. deadline. Miami is ‘coming hard’ after Stoudemire, one source said. Although the Heat have first-round picks available to sweeten any Stoudemire deal — with the Suns hoping to come away with at least one first-rounder if they decide to trade Stoudemire this week — sources say Phoenix has no interest in taking back Jermaine O’Neal’s hefty expiring contract because, at $23 million, it requires more players to be worked into the deal than the Suns are comfortable with.”

Beasley or Hickson? Beasley has the larger upside…that’s the better deal and he fits better with the Suns style of play. That being said, I expect Amare to be in uniform for the Cavs by Friday.

I saw a scenario where the Suns get picks and Iggy, the Heat get Stat and the Sixers get Beasley. I think this works well for all parties, especially with Beasley still being on his rookie contract.

Depending on who you believe, Miami doesn’t want to ship out Beas or PHX is not interested in dealing with his antics. I think STAT gets traded today before their game or doesn’t get traded at all.

I won’t be mad if Stat’s in a Heat uni by week’s end, but I have my heart on Bosh. Chris will be perfect for the Heat.

I don’t feel that same type of man-crush that you do, Cheryl. I think Bosh is good, real good, but if they can get Amare, which should be enough to keep Dwyane in Miami AND be enough to keep them from going plan C and looking at Boozer in the offseason, I’m alright with STAT for now. I do hate that they will give up on Beas when I know dude will be a 20/10 guy long after Amare is a 15/6 dude three or four years from now.

CB4 aint going nowhere. He has stated that he doesnt really feel like playing second banana at this point in his career and… I know this is going to be quite a shock to some Americans… he actually enjoys living in the the 3rd biggest city in North America who also happens to be the cosmopolitan in the world.

I guess Chris must like the prospect of being on a nothing team for the next 5 or 6 seasons in the most cosmopolitan city in the world, too.

Yaa I thought Bosh would care about basketball, the team he was on, and the chance to win a ring. But I guess there are more important things when playing in the NBA, like how much you like the city.

Don’t forget about Miami? Were they even relevant in this Amar’e trade talks?

mmm right, cuz miami’s doing great down there with the 7th seed. their championship hopes are REAL high ill bet.
toronto’s pieces moving forward are much more solid, so if we’re comparing teams, not cities, Raptors win.
now if we’re comparing cities, miami gets it hands down…its warm. and there are lots of immigrants to make it “cosmopolitan” if thats ur thing…they’re just not legal immigrants thats all

And I’m lacking the ‘man-crush” thing with Beasley. He really looks clueless out there, or not very competitive. I don’t think there’s “fire in his belly” you know what I mean?

Wilz…what team is there in Toronto that you’re looking at? The Raptors have no real upside with any other player besides Bosh, and they’re paying them all way too much for the nothing they provide; Barnagni’s having a decent season, but that’s about it. At least in Miami he would have Dwayne Wade; and that might be all either of them would need, who knows?

Work out a 3-way deal with Denver… I don’t care how, but bring B-Eazy to Denver, pleaseeeeeeeeee.

Sorry Jack, but I think B-Easy to Denver is an AWFUL idea. I like Beasley’s upside, but right now, he’s a much worse version of Carmelo.
