Tracy McGrady Hurt; Yes, Already (Again)

by Marcel Mutoni@marcel_mutoni

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Welcome to T-Mac’s life, and that of the Knicks.

Following an electrifying debut in a Knicks uniform on Saturday night, during which he poured in a season-high 26 points, T-Mac asked out of the game last night when he could no longer bear the pain in his surgically-repaired left knee (a knee, mind you, he had been rubbing on the bench during his Knick debut).

What little hope McGrady may have generated in his scintillating debut all but disappeared with the injury last night, to say nothing of the Knicks’ totally deflating loss to Milwaukee.

More from the NY Post:

Tracy McGrady’s comeback took a troubling turn when the new Knick limped off the court in the final minutes of his second game. The cursed Knicks limped to a horrifying 83-67 loss to the Bucks and were booed off the court by a surly Garden crowd after scoring their season low. McGrady said afterward he knocked knees twice and wouldn’t guarantee he’ll be healthy enough to face the Celtics tonight in Boston.

“Hopefully it’s not sore [today],” McGrady said. “Maybe I’ll lace them up and play, but we’ll see. We’ll see how it feels before the game … In the first half, I knocked knees with somebody. I didn’t really feel it until I came in here and sat 15-20 minutes and went out,” McGrady said. “Toward the end, I banged knees again. Coach saw me limping, so he pulled me out.”

Tonight’s game — with the Knicks visiting Boston — has a chance to be something special, as Eddie House and Nate Robinson face their former squads, but with T-Mac’s health up in the air (on a back-to-back, no less), Knicks fans probably shouldn’t hold their breath for something too positive to take place.

If Nate lights it up tonight, what will be D’Antoni’s response?
He clearly never takes accountability for his own actions, saying things like
“there’s a lot of spirit that when out of this dog and were just not fighting”

I’m sure they love playing a guy whose spotty substitution patterns make no sense,
who doesn’t communicate with any of his players and doesn’t know who he’s
going to play and who he’s going to sit, a smug idiot who spends half the game
arguing with the refs and finding a scapegoat. He is a clown.

It must be nice, knowing that the only reason he’s being kept around
is because LBJ and Joe Johnson are supposedly tight with him. It’s a mystery to
most people, given he has the personality of a chalkboard. He is more garbage
    than a DPW system.

It’s an easy job, however, when you got Jon “Jersey Shore” Supranowitz (not for nothing dude, but aren’t
you like 40-something? Don’t you think it’s time you take yourself a little more seriously
and not try to emulate someone you’re not?) and his goons cutting off reporters with a “thanks mike”
while this cat waits for his next paycheck and watches the team drown in self-doubt.

Only reason to watch a Knick game is to hear Clyde kill it ‘the neophyte hell bent on going to the cup’ “previously it was lee tantalizing along the baseline” “going through the picks with gusto”

I have the same issues in my knee as T-Mac does. It’s not the impact that causes the pain and swelling as much as it is the right-left jarring in the joint itself. A brace will help with that a little, but won’t stop the problem.
Honestly, if I were him I’d be thinking hard about the rest of my life about now.

Clyde is killing it right now
He is the best broadcaster, hands down, that’s ever walked God’s Green Earth.
And Bill Walker has more big ups than a Rudeboy dude is promising
and quite the neophyte as well.

Rondo had a banger that could very make SLAM-A-Da-Month
    but we shall see

    Knicks still in this

    Clyde is the man
    His wordplay is unmatched
He makes every game a thriller, even if the knicks
    are getting bludgeoned by 40
neophythe is beginning to perculate along the baseline
    “Quite an auspicious start”
    He is sick with it
Bill Walker has more big ups than a rudeboy mon, and I think
he will be good if he develops over time he is still raw and
    young

The players today aren’t made like they used to be. We have guys getting manicures, pedicures, facials, etc. I mean, facials? Come on. They should be models, or something. I guess some dudes just want to be pretty while playing ball.

  • The Philosopher

I wonder if Tyrone Hill ever got facials? What about Oakley?

  • al

anyone ever see that bubble boy episode from
seinfeld? anyone care to fill in the blanks?

  • Boogie

Slam needs to stop posting bulls**t headlines. He is not hurt again and he played tonight in Boston and looked pretty ok. This is getting pretty annoying slam, i know u want hits but in the long term you will piss off your customers and eventually your website will lose its credibility, as well as its readership, as your magazine already is, albeit for entirely different reasons..

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers

yeah. fu(k those sensationalist headlines. this sh1t looks like tmz.

trade TMAC for STAT…oh, damn, too late

  • KINGSMEN

MAYBE HE SHOULD CHANGE HIS NAME TO T-WAC…?

  • Sturm Drang

Well, at least TMac and Yao are no longer in the same place… Maybe they’ll stop attracting “injure me” karmic vibes that attack each other now that they’re on separate teams.
