George Karl Nearly Done With Cancer Treatments

The Denver Post has the latest about Karl’s battle: “It’s been a long, emotional and tumultuous road for Nuggets coach George Karl, as he battles neck and throat cancer. But he’s got just eight more radiations and only one more chemotherapy session to go. As we wrote last week, Karl likely won’t return to the Nuggets’ bench until closer to mid-April. Karl’s life partner, Kim Van Deraa, blogged Sunday that: ‘The End of Treatments are in site — eight more radiations and one more chemo session. George is looking forward to the recovery process — we know it wont be easy but we are ready to finish the fight. George’s mouth is in a lot of pain so we just try to keep him comfortable by managing the pain with his meds.”‘

That’s good to hear; I like George Karl. Actually, I like all coaches not named Jay Triano.

George, my prayers and best wishes for you and your family. My dr.s and I beat cancer once and now I’m battling MS. The Nuggets and all of the Denver Sports teams add entertainment and enjoyment to my daily life. Thank you so very much.
