Hasheem Thabeet: Back in the NBA

Well, that was quick: “The Grizzlies recalled center Hasheem Thabeet from the Dakota Wizards, the team’s NBA Development League affiliate, general manager Chris Wallace announced today. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Thabeet averaged a double-double with 13.8 points and 11.2 rebounds along with 3.2 blocks in six games (four starts) with Dakota.”

The twisting, tumultuous tale of the terrifyingly tale Tanzanian turns triumphantly towards tons of tantalizing…garbage time.
Glad to have you back, rook.

I believe he will be a good player, seems ready to work and has conditions. Is it worth your best draft pick in years?? probably not.
Anyway they did not need a Center the way Gasol is playing.

They should have left him there where he was at least getting consistent minutes

al: they didn’t know they were gonna get Z-Bo, that was the issue.

I guess Thabeet is not the next Mutombo like I heard a few people say.

  • youngmuggsy

Mutombo was 25 when he entered the league and averaging 3 points per game at Georgetown when he was Thabeets age. Give the big fella some time.

  • therighttoremainsalient

Well. Technically Thabeet is the next 49 yr old Mutumbo…I guess it’s kind of accurate.
