Kevin Garnett Didn’t Hit a Shot Last Night

KG hasn’t had a game like that since his rookie year, as the Boston Herald details: “Kevin Garnett’s performance against the Wizards last night sent people scurrying for the record books - though he would have loved to save them the trouble. The Celtics forward had eight points in the 86-83 victory, but they were all from the line. KG went 0-for-7 from the floor, failing to secure a field goal for the first time since his rookie year - Jan. 27, 1996, at New York. His previous high for missed shots without a make was five. But Garnett, who had 22 points in Philadelphia two nights earlier, had 10 rebounds and was a major presence on defense down the stretch.”

I miss the days when KG would lead his team in every stat. RIP Fun Police.

  • Ramn Posted: Mar.8 at 9:39 am
FIRST?!?! Should fans be worried? We thought he was getting progressively better but an 0fer sounds bad…

  • Ramn Posted: Mar.8 at 9:41 am
On the other hand, Ray Allen seems to have risen from the dead…resurrected!

man, kg was out of his mind at the end of the game. he was dropping F-bombs, shirt off, as he was walking back to the locker room after the game. i guess he didn’t like dray talking back. the haters will love this. nice comeback, C’s, but c’mon!

  • md33 Posted: Mar.8 at 10:12 am
    I bet he don’t.

  • md33 Posted: Mar.8 at 10:13 am
as in, I bet KG doesn’t miss those days. You know cause they lost all the time. ALL DE TIME!

  • jumpman3224 Posted: Mar.8 at 10:22 am
according to vtrobot he doesn’t seem too happy to be winning games when he plays like garbage.

KG walks around with a peg leg. The man had three travel voliations called just on him. His quickness is gone and so are the celtics championship chance.

  • rainman10 Posted: Mar.8 at 11:02 am
But you know who has the quickness…Rajon Rondo!…championship chances are back.

This is tough to watch, but he is on the decline of his career.

  • vtrobot Posted: Mar.8 at 11:21 am
i’ll take KG with an 0fer and that level of energy (at the end of the game) instead of no KG. as a C’s fan, i’ve been trying to watch for more of KG’s moving screens that everyone’s always hollering about. looked like he got away with a good one when he got miller off of ray for that final 3. oh well, superstars get the calls.

  • riggs Posted: Mar.8 at 11:22 am
shut it down for the rest of year? im thinking yes.

  • letsmotor Posted: Mar.8 at 11:34 am
clearly, KG’s leg isn’t completely healthy yet, which obviously affected his shooting last night. besides his dreadful shooting though, i’d say he had a good game. ten boards and a huge hustle play in the final minutes. seemed like he was also doing a great job of getting in the wizards’ heads. oh, and @ramn: i know lately he’s stepped his game up a lot, but was ray allen ever dead?

  • Tommy Patron Posted: Mar.8 at 12:04 pm
I love how so many folks (TV talking heads included) talk about how KG isn’t healthy “yet”. At what point does reality set in for these people?

  • Jon Posted: Mar.8 at 7:59 pm
wow. people really expect 33+ year old garnett to still be at his peak? i would think the fact that hes an all-star caliber and not a super star like he once was is already impressive seeing that he’s born worn and torn by injuries and…..the t’wolves.

    kg all day

As much as I despise all things Celtic, I don’t think they need worry. As someone pointed out above, Ray Allen has stepped it up and KG’s defense is still mad tight, when needed. However, in a perfect world, his D will go to sh*t too and the Raptors will beat them in the first round.

  • BostonBaller Posted: Mar.9 at 9:23 am
KG will be fine and I’ll take 0 for 7 shooting once a decade as long as he rebounds and defends. When isn’t KG drop’n F bombs even when he is happy and as far as not liking dray talking back i think KG loves it. (Know the game and the players people) No shutting it down for the rest of the season, we need cohesiveness from the entire team. The fun police are all gone, he is more of a Special Ops man now. PS: Ray hasn’t been resurrected b/c he never actually died, his game has been the most consistent of all.

  • vtrobot Posted: Mar.9 at 10:25 am
i wasn’t saying KG didn’t love it, especially since the C’s won, i was just saying that he was way more out of his mind than his “normal” level of intensity. yeah, they got some issues, but the C’s will definitely give someone problems and a good series.

    kg missing all day
