Kobe Bryant Wants Help for Dwyane Wade

Kobe has been in Dwyane’s situation, and knows how tough it can be to try and carry a team. CBS reports: “After scoring 39 points and hitting the overtime-forcing jumper in his sixth game back from a five-game absence with a nagging assortment of injuries, Bryant’s most astute observation was not about his team, but about the opponent. The guy who needs a little help was wearing a Miami Heat jersey Thursday night. ‘He had 14 assists, but there’s still too much on him,’ Bryant said after Wade did it all – 27 points and 14 assists – in Miami’s 114-111 overtime victory over the Lakers. ‘He literally had to make every play, had to try to penetrate and pitch in. That can wear you down. So hopefully, he’ll get somebody who can step up and make plays and give him a couple of plays off.’ This is a sensitive topic in these parts, and also in a certain city on the Cuyahoga River where free agency D-Day looms. Every crucial Miami basket Thursday night came from Wade or resulted in a play he set up with his play-making dominance. You watch him will his .500 team to a victory over the defending champs, and you wonder: Damn, how good would he be with some help?”

  • titsd Posted: Mar.5 at 11:07 am
Wade + Kobe this summer when kobe doesn’t extend :)

  • S.O. Posted: Mar.5 at 11:13 am
    how does it taste?

  • rubs93 Posted: Mar.5 at 11:18 am
Wade will have all the help he needs when he comes home to the Chi PG-Rose
    SG-Wade
    C-Noah
    SF-Deng
    PF-Gibson

  • Soze from L.A. Posted: Mar.5 at 11:22 am
That’s OBVIOUSLY a ploy to try to detract from Lebron’s soon to be MVP award. A page right out of Dr. Phil’s fake ass psychoanalysis book. Since when do you say the guy who beats you need more help? Kobe you have a far better team and you still took an L. YOU need more help.

  • tom Posted: Mar.5 at 11:23 am
deng has to play better, lets say up to his contract value

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.5 at 11:29 am
Once Bosh comes to Miami, this silliness will cease.

  • Logues Posted: Mar.5 at 11:39 am
the answer to your last question would be nba champ and finals mvp good.

  • Jose Posted: Mar.5 at 11:40 am
    Amen Eboy

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers Posted: Mar.5 at 11:43 am
Wade´s not leaving south beach rubs93, Taj Gibson is good but BY NO MEANS starting material on a contender. classy move by kob but i feel like he was dissing Q and the tito jacksons at the same time, theyre not as bad as people say, really, with Flash healthy thats a 45 win team in the East. but the man needs help thats foshow!

  • The D Train Posted: Mar.5 at 11:49 am
Would a supporting cast of Kobe, Pau, Ron-Ron and Co. be good enough? Kobe is obviously setting us up for the inevitable “Wade Signs With Lakers For Veteran Minimum” headline that is forthcoming.

  • Jackie Moon Posted: Mar.5 at 11:57 am
@Eboy – Congrats, that was a fun game to watch. You know I’m not sweating a regular season loss. It was a great exhibition of Kobe’s one-on-one skills, as well as Dwade’s willingness to give up the rock, man the Lakers were not going to let him be the one to score. Oh, and Kobe fouled QRich on that last three, definitely, and Wade got wrist on Kobe’s airball. But, hey, if you don’t play defense like the Lakers didn’t, you have to be extra special on offense, and they weren’t. Haslem is money from 15.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.5 at 12:01 pm
The fact that Soze reached hard enough that he came up with the conclusion that Kobe’s statement was hating on Lebron is down right INCREDIBLE.

  • Pve84 Posted: Mar.5 at 12:17 pm
I think that Bulls lineup would look GREAT…if Wade and Rose didn’t do the same exact thing. Both players need the ball to create for their team and are at their best when they attack the rim. Having Wade would impede Rose’s growth. I don’t think they can coexist. Joe Johnson would seem like a better fit in Chicago.

  • SAB Posted: Mar.5 at 12:17 pm
would you trade Wade for Kobe straight up? age makes it a no-brainer, unfortunately… but anyway, Lakers fans, imagine how much better your team could be……..

  • Kevin Posted: Mar.5 at 12:54 pm
    co-sign Spaceship Jay

  • Earl Posted: Mar.5 at 1:14 pm
Kobe cant say anything anymore without people saying its a trick to get what he wants. :(

  • M Cho Posted: Mar.5 at 1:21 pm
Man, how bad does your team have to be when Kobe is feeling pity for you?

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.5 at 1:29 pm
Bad enough to beat that a*s and a bullsh*t prayer away from sweeping them….that’s how bad.

  • Soze from L.A. Posted: Mar.5 at 1:43 pm
Its true. Kobe’s threatened by Lebron and no one else in the NBA – that’s a fact.

  • Cheryl Posted: Mar.5 at 1:49 pm
We need more than Bosh but that’s a start.

  • Logues Posted: Mar.5 at 1:53 pm
i agee with Cheryl, getting Bosh and wade together would make them a good team, but prolly not even a contender in the east, they need better role players

  • T-Money Posted: Mar.5 at 2:17 pm
I disagree. Bosh + Wade is good enough to be a strong contender. Bosh is the 2nd best PF in the L behind Dirk. He is wayyy better than Amar’e.

  • scompson Posted: Mar.5 at 2:24 pm
where will q-rich end up this summer? hes that one guy who always gets traded, kinda like larry hughes.

  • Rob Posted: Mar.5 at 2:30 pm
@Soze God u are so stupid

  • Jackie Moon Posted: Mar.5 at 2:52 pm
Why is everything so adversarial? You know these guys are all buddies, right?

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Mar.5 at 4:19 pm
Co-Sign Jackie.. Have you ever seen 2 superstar guards talking while free throws are being shot? I can’t hear their sound bites, but I’m sure there not saying “I hate you. You need help, Ima tell that press that if we lose… and I hate Lebron too.” Also, Championship teams tend to shrug their shoulders at those types of loses…. Just sayin.

  • therighttoremainsalient Posted: Mar.5 at 5:15 pm
Hey in that game B-EASY wasn’t in uniform, he would have got his 21 and 8 on the day.

  • Big Kejuan Posted: Mar.5 at 6:37 pm
Why does everbody have resentment towards Kobe? If this was a way to take a jab at LeBron then, hey he deserves it.LOL. D-Wade should’ve won the MVP last year and probably this year if Durant doesn’t get it.
BTW In Chicago we want DWade or Bosh or Joe or Amare.(In that order) PHUCK LeBron he is very corny and overrated

  • NotebookNick Posted: Mar.5 at 7:06 pm
Bosh + Wade to the Chi, and then there’s a dynasty.

  • kg Posted: Mar.5 at 7:33 pm
think logically now people . d rose wade and cb4 on the same team really unlikely ! kobe and d-wade ? really ? and if the lakers dont gett the ring this year we ALL know who to blame ! . . RON ARTEST ..

  • Logues Posted: Mar.5 at 8:54 pm
kg: blame it all on artest and not on kobe? so we can hop all over kobes nutsack if they win and say its all him, but if they lose you dont put any of it on kobe?

  • Ronald Posted: Mar.6 at 1:46 am
Bosh + Wade = Contender in the east. the east is still weak ass

  • Yesse Posted: Mar.6 at 6:46 am
    Agreed.

  • nastierthanu Posted: Mar.6 at 7:02 am
@soze kobe is very threatned by lbj. He shakes in his boots. Cries himself to sleep. Rings finals mvp scoring champion the only “next jordan to become the next jordan!”. Yeah he’s sweatin bullets

  • Joel O's Posted: Mar.6 at 9:18 am
Bosh + Wade isn’t just merely better than “weak ass”. Each of these guys pretty much single handedly have their teams at .500. Beijing 2008 showed that Bosh is probably the best sidekick big man in the world, and that was before he bulked up this last season and started putting up Mailman numbers. It will be sad to see Bosh leave Toronto – and I think he definitely will – but I’ll root for him all the way if he ends up in Miami. Bosh really deserves a shot at a ring.

  • Joel O's Posted: Mar.6 at 9:27 am
And some of you may differ, but I think adding Bosh to Miami makes their role players click into place nicely. JO, Haslem and Bosh make a good frontline. Miami has ample shooters, who will definitely benefit from Chris’ post presence.

  • Joel O's Posted: Mar.6 at 9:33 am
I think a Wade-Bosh pairing in Miami, together with the incumbent role players, only looks “weak” in the context of the ridiculous superstar-laden teams that’ve somehow emerged in the last 3 years. Incredibly, the Celts, Lakers, Magic and Dallas each have 4-5 all star calibre guys. Does a team really need that many stars to look like a contender? No – not if you’ve got star players with the ability to elevate lesser players, and the right role players on your team. The Cavs as they were built earlier this season, and even as they are now, is a great example of this. Even with Jamison, it still is “Lebron + Sidekicks” there. Their offense has come such a long way from that disastrous start against the Raptors, and it all is because role players (like Hickson) are really stepping up.

  • Joel O's Posted: Mar.6 at 9:43 am
With the right star players, even mediocre role players can work. Rick Fox, Brian Shaw, Jaren Jackson, Mario Elie, AC Green to name a few. Jud Buechler, Bill Wennington. Adam Keefe. I’m not saying that Bosh is in the same league as MJ or Shaq, but he’s a better all-round player than Amare will ever be, and definitely the best PF we’ve seen since Karl Malone retired (Duncan is a center). Bosh and Wade, with Spoelstra and Gekko’s backing, will contend. I really hope this happens.

  • Jukai Posted: Mar.6 at 10:59 am
AC Green was an all-star, Joel

    *snickers*

  • BostonBaller Posted: Mar.6 at 12:10 pm
Why is it that some say Kobe is threatened or that he is up to something? He knows and respects Wade and knows his situation.

  • JontheSaint Posted: Mar.6 at 7:57 pm
Wade will have all the help he needs when he and chris bosh come to new York this summer C Chris Bosh
    PF David Lee
    SF Tracy McGrady
    SG Dwayne Wade
PG does it even matter, look at the other 4 plus we have Danilo Gallinari, Al Harrington, & Wilson Chandler,

  • Joel O's Posted: Mar.7 at 12:16 am
Aaah! OKAY he was an All-Star but by the Lakers’ early 2000s title runs he was geriatric. :S

  • Shem Posted: Mar.7 at 8:17 am
@Jonthesaint: Tmac’s contract is expiring and being as cheap as the knicks are i doubt they’d resign him, Al Harrington isn’t resigning he’s playing for a contract this year, David Lee’s contract is expiring, Wilson Chandler is expiring so… that won’t happen. As for Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade coming to New york, CB4 said he doesn’t think this free agency will be as exciting as expected and his DVD theme song is “Rep TDOT till they burry me” and Dwayne Wade said he wants to play for one team for his whole career. Even if they do decide to leave i doubt they’ll go to New York. New York will be lucky if they get Joe Johnson

  • mytiman Posted: Mar.7 at 11:01 am
Chicago’s the answer for Dwyane Wade. A great point guard in Derrick Rose. Hustle men Joakim Noah and Taj. Plus a Pippen-like to Wade’s Jordan, Luol Deng.

  • The Philosopher Posted: Mar.7 at 1:33 pm
It seems like Kobe is so relieved that he won his title without Shaq, that he can say about anything. Anyways, sounds like he’s taunting Wade on the down low. Kobe’s an all time cpmpetitor. He’s loving the fact that Wade’s team is mediocre is his (Kobe’s) team isn’t.

  • dmonz Posted: Mar.7 at 5:56 pm
that lineup with Chi still doesn’t look that good ..if Wade & Bosh/or Amar’e would team up that would set Miami on fire!

  • Dallas Posted: Mar.7 at 11:12 pm
It’s true Wade plays great and the Heat still can’t win.

  • Chris Posted: Mar.8 at 3:30 am
I hope Wade gets some help for his team. There are some young pieces in the team and hopefully beasly develops more by next year. Its not like the Lakers and Cavs team were built in one year.

  • Buschfire Posted: Mar.8 at 9:17 am
CB4 has said he doesn’t think this free agency will be as exciting as expected and his DVD theme song is “Rep TDOT till they burry me” I’m from Toronto I know its a long shot he will stay here but i have a good feeling he will… though to see Wade & Bosh pair up would be hype but i highly doubt that would occur in Miami or NYC.

  • Dfrance Posted: Mar.8 at 5:04 pm
Am I the only one that thinks Dwade is erratic? Or is that because he HAS to be erratic for them to win?

  • ben amos Posted: Jun.26 at 3:59 am
I think Dwayne Wade to be traded to the lakers

  • ben amos Posted: Jun.26 at 4:01 am
Or Dwayne Wade to be traded to new york knicks

  • ben amos Posted: Jun.26 at 4:04 am
i think T-Mac to be traded to the Dallas Mavericks
