Paul Pierce Returned from Injury Too Soon

The Truth does a little self-diagnosis, courtesy of the Boston Herald: “For most part I’m healthy now. I played a lot of games I shouldn’t have played in, and I’m really starting to come around as far as my foot, knee and my hand. When you play less than 100 percent it’s tough, especially at the age I am now. I could bounce back when I was younger, but I learned a lot about myself this year with these injuries, and I probably need to take more time off when I have these types of injuries.’ ‘Yeah,’ Pierce said of whether he rushed back. ‘I was a little stubborn, since in the past I was able to play through it, and it really affected my play. It was a combination of everything. My knee, after all-star break I got it drained, and it took me a few weeks to get the strength back in that. Then I sprained my thumb. It was the little things that were happening to me. I’m always motivated. This is a crucial time of year, trying to get some momentum and battling for playoff position. This is when you really want to start playing your best basketball.”’

    1st GO MAGIC!!!!

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

His main injury comes from a fork stuck in him.

  • vtrobot

he seems a lot better now. the C’s will def be a harder 1st round match up than the were last year. 2nd round might be have the same result as last year. THE TRUTH!

  • Farman

Maybe next time they should carry him off in a wheelchair and have him come back like Willis Reed. That was the biggest joke I have ever seen…………

Agree with Farman. When PP was compared to Willis Reed in the Finals and didn’t say anything about it….that’s when the love was over. Don’t see Boston past rnd 1.

  • roman

Sounds likes he’s making excuses. Everyone pretty much has some type of injury. Him and the leprechaun crew better be ready. Teams are coming at them hard this year.

one of the best shooters in NBA history !!!!!!!!!

  • slamadayear

I thought this article was saying he was injured again, I had the biggest /facepalm when I read the title, haha.

Just curious Farman, what happened after that wheelchair scenario..? Maybe you forgot as you failed to mention it. Here, I’ll help you: he won Finals MVP and led the C’s to their 17th Banner. Don’t choke on all that Haterade Anton *glug* *gulp* *glug* lmao..

“Everyone pretty much as some type of injury.” That has to be the smartest thing I’ve ever seen on here, roman. I don’t see why it’s hard to believe that he was playing injured before and now he’s better. For a while, he wasn’t himself. In the last few weeks he’s been playing very well and so have the C’s. The healing of an injury seems sure seems like a reasonable explanation for this.

    Wheelchair jokes! So timely!

Celtics better get some paramedics for the games. Rondo thinks he’s an amazing player, he drives and faikes a-behind-the-back pass and actually lays it up….what a joke. Put him on a bad team and he becomes average. If Perkins smiles and doesn’t throw an elbow everytime he rebounds, then he should win the MVP award. Ray allen….nothing but respect for him. Pierce, all of the sudden is the best shooter in celtic’s history. Sorry Larry Bird, your championships are worth nothing to Pierce. Pierce never made statements like that when he had all of those losing seasons prior to Garnet and Allen.
Garnet, what a trash talker, he looks funny when they dunk on him….he runs to the other basket right away,….is it just me or he doesn’t talk trash to Lebron or Kobe….he’s a very smart man….O celtics’ gotta love them!

He can take all the breaks he want, as long as he takes C’s to the ‘ship. They are going to make a final surge in the playoffs and then probably play sidekick to a STAR.

  • vtrobot

the PP hate is funny. at least have some respect for the man’s game. he heard a loud pop in his knee so he wanted to make sure it was all right. i don’t think it was a big production they’d scripted in the locker room beforehand. let it go. the guy was balling not too long after getting stabbed in the face. in. the. face. you think he’s a fake p*ssy? and to the rondo haters, he’ll probably stop doing that lame fake when it stops being effective. his left hand around the body dribble was nice the others night. see you in the first round.

  • ClydeSays

Pierce is just stating what everyone knew except him. No need to rush back from injury with the playoffs coming up.

  • Farman

@Kobewearsapurplethong, I’m not taking anything away from Boston and their title. Congrats!! But come on. Did he really need to be carried off in a wheelchair and come back 5 minutes later? You’re a douche when Justin Timberlake is clowning you on national tv at the ESPY’S. Plus, Ray Allen could have easily won the MVP as well. He had an awesome series, and basically won game 5 by himself. Keep working on that homer website blog bud. The Celtics era has come to an end big time. When your old and way over the salary cap, not a good combo. Biggest mistake was not trading Ray Allen with Kevin Martin. This summer Celtics have no cap space and I believe out of mid-level contracts. Juuuuust thanks Rasheed for not caring coming to camp.

  • Sparty’s Law

Celtic injuries always brighten my day.

  • Rob

this doucheb@g always seems to recover in an almost magical way. Riding a wheelchair one moment and playing 1 minute later and now this. Amazing! Jerk!

  • DtownBizz

@ Kobe.. Ray >> Kevin ez..

And no PP didn’t come back too soon.. dude has been averaging 26+ since his return …

and lmao At the comment somebody made about them not making it pass the 1st round.. kill yourself.
