Rodney Carney: Sixers Aren’t Tanking

Carney tells the Inquirer that his team is simply terrible, they’re not losing on purpose: “Before the game, forward Rodney Carney debunked the notion that the players would purposely lose games to gain the Sixers a better spot in the NBA’s draft lottery. ‘It’s impossible,’ he said. ‘You get out there, your natural instincts are to try to compete to win the game. Rather than, ‘Oh, I’ll miss this shot.’ No way.’ Carney added: ‘You hear about it, but you don’t want to do it. We want to win every game we can, regardless of some higher draft pick we could get. We don’t worry about that, and we don’t want to think about it, either.”‘

    haha zabba. they have promising young talent, seems they’ve been rebuilding since AI left the 1st time.. I expect them to be active this summer. probably for a center and p.f..

    I dont get how a team with so much talent and a good coach is doing so terrible

    Carney, please, you don’t respond to moronic suggestions like that. It gives them further credance. @BETCATS the first thing a coach should be hammering into a team built like the sixers should be D. Firstly, that squad just needs one instruction on O. “Fast”… Either fast breaks for easy buckets, or fast passing when in half court otherwise they stagnate. Also, D brings confidence far more than good shooting brings confidence on D. Get some stops and its a momentum changer far more than even the deadliest bucket. EJ, I respect him less and less, is a good coach butnot for Sixers. I haven’t seen a fragment of D for more than a Q here and there. It is tragic.

    Shawn Bradley… haha I actually had his jersey.. the only sixer jersey I could find in the NW.. the jersey was dope (red with the stars and big logo). the player on back. not so much.

    Sixers have been tanking for years. Outside of last years playoff appearance they’ve been cheeks for since iverson bounced
