Ron Artest Wants Lakers to Finish 18-0

Ron-Ron has his eyes set on a rather large winning streak, as ESPN reports: “At the beginning of the season nobody had a chance and then we gave everybody a chance,’ Artest said. Having survived the three-game lull with two wins against Toronto and Phoenix, Artest wants the Lakers to do some streaking of their own. ‘We just want to win every game and hopefully just win out,’ Artest said. ‘That would be the main goal, just not to lose anymore.’ Wouldn’t that be something? Eighteen straight wins to end the season would be just like the last Lakers team to accomplish a championship repeat. The 2000-01 squad won its last eight games of the regular season and started the postseason on an additional 11-0 spurt to extend its winning streak in the time when winning really matters to 19 games. Lakers coach Phil Jackson didn’t echo Artest’s stated goal of an unblemished end to the regular season, but he did say, like Artest’s idol Michael Jackson, the team wants to be starting something.”

who wouldnt wanna win every game? is he supposed to say “we want to go 15-3″?

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.15 at 10:09 am
Perhaps if he played like Trevor Ariza, they could.

  • Yesse Posted: Mar.15 at 10:39 am
Well i want that to happen too, but it’s not necessarily gonna happen.

Trevor Ariza is a better long-term fit for the lakers while Ron is better short term.

Besides the Rodman-like hair for a game, ron-ron seems to have transititoned pretty well. I don’t have a problem with him puttion 18-0 out there. I just hope he doesn’t change too much of what he’s been doing in order to get it. He’s not the leader of the team and it will be interesting to see how his teammates respond. I’m sure this summer or sometime after he’s gone from the lakers the stories will come out about what kind of real lockerroom presence he was.

If they go 18-0 to close out the season I’ll buy a Tru Warrior album.

I don’t root for the Lake Show but (outside of Mamba and Ron) these guys are disappointing with their lack of focus so far.

the lakers are about to go on a 9 game W streak, maybe longer, but I got them losing in Atlanta. so far 2-0.

Artest vows to streak around the arena for every win from now on.

i think everyone’s missing the picture here. what’s the most important is, did Phil Jax really quoted Michael Jackson? that should be the main selling point of this story.
