Gordon Hayward to Declare for NBA Draft

Although he’s a projected first rounder and Final Four hero, Gordon Hayward is defying the mythical “Butler Way” by declaring for the 2010 NBA Draft: “Butler sophomore Gordon Hayward has declared his intention to submit his name for the NBA draft, according to an announcement today by his father. Hayward’s father, Gordon Sr., said in a text message that his son is not hiring an agent. The two met on campus Tuesday to discuss his playing future.”

Yannick Noah’s son on the Bulls, Wade playing pick-up with Andy Roddick, now straight-up tennis players enter the draft… Soon, the NBA will have more ties with the ATP then the NFL.

sorry – THAN the NFL… reminds me of a scene from the first season of The Wire, when the judge was explaining the difference between the two words to McNulty:
    - …as in “Ronda is smarter thAn Jimmy”.

His talented enough for the NBA.. I thought he wouldn’t leave school early.. Because he look like the kind of kid who would stay 4 years in school…but his draft stock right now is very high..why stay in school, if you risking injuries..

Dude will get drafted but I was really hoping to see what Butler could do with him back next year.

Gonna be a good player in the league. 6’9 can do it all. No glaring weakness.

He is a hell of player and will develop into a great pro..it’s not often you see a 6’9 guy who can play every position. Wished he stayed in school for another run with Butler though
