Tracy McGrady Wants to Play in Orlando Again

T-Mac tells the NY Post that he wouldn’t mind going back home to Florida again this summer:  “Of course because it’s home, that’s home,’ McGrady said yesterday before the Knicks’ 118-90 loss to the Blazers at Rose Garden. ‘I hated it that I left. I hated I left because I established myself there and made a name for myself. It was a situation where the GM [John Weisbrod] that was there made a huge mistake.’ Weisbrod, whose has since been fired, traded McGrady in 2004 in a deal for Steve Francis. ‘They got him out of there because he was out of his mind,’ McGrady said of Weisbrod … ‘I think it’s possible they’ll get back to The Finals,’ McGrady said. ‘And if you add me to the mix, I like Orlando. We’ll see.”‘

    I know playing for NY is depressing, but does it make you delusional now? Hey T-Mac, you’re barely relevant right now, and you have to prove yourself all over again. The last thing you should be doing is daydreaming about playing in ideal situations next year, unless you’re willing to make like $3M next year. The first thing you should be doing is re-establishing yourself as someone who can help a contender get over the hump. Dont know how that’s possible given his track record. He’s like the championship kryptonite to Dwight’s Superman.

    Oh my God, this would be epic! They could have the nickname the Gruesome Twosome… both settling for 25 foot jumpers, and each missing 25-40 games in the season. Orlando needs to make this happen.

    McGrady plays like he’s 45 years old now, and it’d be classic to see Stan Van Gundy’s face as they shoot a combined 7-25. And maybe get to the line 2 times each.

    i think the best place for t-mac is phoenix, i mean now he looks like 45, but steve nash is 36 and looks like 26 and grant hill also. there they know how to keep the players on the court.

    Rico’s not funny, why is he saying this DURING the season? Like is he f**kin stupid? On the offseason, alright but he’s gonna be playing tomorrow getting booed by absolutely everyone. This guys an idiot.. that’s why they traded him. And when Tmac said I established myself in Orlando.. umm you never won a playoff series and just got a couple scoring titles.
