Ankle Sprain Could Sideline Mickael Pietrus in Game 1

Pietrus isn’t sure about his status for the Magic’s series opener against Atlanta, but the Orlando Sentinel is somewhat skeptical about how serious the ankle sprain is: “Magic SF Mickael Pietrus sprained his left ankle during Sunday’s practice and didn’t know if he could play in Tuesday’s opener against the Atlanta Hawks. He walked out of the trainer’s room after practice at RDV Sportsplex with a protective boot on his foot. Pietrus said he landed on it awkwardly and missed the end of a scrimmage. Asked if he could play Tuesday, Pietrus said, ‘I don’t know.’ Pietrus, though, has a history of misleading the media about the severity of injuries.”
