Danny Ainge Regrets Towel ‘Incident’; Fined

Ainge tells the press that what he did in Game 1 of the Cavs/Celtics series was “unprofessional.” He forgot to add that it was also hilarious. From the Boston Herald: “What I’m most regretful about is that our team is playing well, and people are talking about a towel being thrown,’ said the Celtics president of basketball operations. ‘I shouldn’t draw attention away from our team like that. It was unprofessional. It’s not something I’ll lose a lot of sleep over, but it’s something I regret.’ But the moment was good for several laughs on the team. ‘I just heard it this morning from (Ainge),’’ said Paul Pierce. “He’s just a fan of the game.’ Said Doc Rivers: “I didn’t know about it. I was up in my dungeon doing my work and my cell phone was going off and off. So when I saw it I got a good laugh. He was going back to his playing days.’’’

UPDATE: Danny received a $25,000 slap on the wrist from NBA HQ today for his behavior.
