Darko Milicic Wants to Play in Minny Next Season

No word if the Wolves will meet his demands for minutes and money, but David Khan says their big fella wants to be part of the process in Minnesota again. From the Pioneer Press: “Kahn said he spoke last week with free-agent center Darko Milicic’s agent, Marc Cornstein, who told him Milicic is interested in returning to the Wolves. The 7-foot native of Serbia Montenegro started 18 of 24 games with the Wolves after he was traded Feb. 17 from the New York Knicks. ‘It’s my understanding that Darko would like to come back with us,’ Kahn said of the seven-year veteran. ‘He sees pieces to build around here and knows further pieces are coming, and he would like to be a part of it.’ The Wolves must wait until July 1 to begin negotiations with Milicic and other free agents.”

Why is this guy demanding minutes?

    First start playing decent basketball…

He has been playing decent basketball.

  • Orlando Woolridge

I think they need him as much as he needs them. Isn’t he the only player over 6’9 on that team? He’ll never be worth the 2nd pick, but he’s not a bad player.

Do it. Al J and Love don’t really get blocks.

exactly. Over the last ten games he average over about 11 and 6, with about 2 assists and 2 blocks in almost 30 minutes a night. You have two power forwards that are close to being all-star caliber, that is not a bad center to have next to them in today’s NBA. Think about the centers playing next to all-star PFs…Robin Lopez, Brendan Haywood, Kendrick Perkins, Andrew Bynum, and then whatever scrub suits up next to Duncan. In fact, Darko would probably play real nice with the Spurs.

A healty trio of Al, Love and Darko sounds good.

Well why didn’t he play this year? Oh…

Rambis likes Darko. I really don’t see him going anywhere especially with how injury prone Love and Jefferson are. They need each other.

Finally the perfect situation for Darko…

wouldn’t it be funny if he got the minutes he wanted.. and produced at an all-star level?

Darko is a nice player. Can block shots well. Play decent overall defense. And a good shooter for a 7ftr, great passer for his size. He just needs mins to sharpen.

Minny only wants PGs. Look elsewhere, Darko

@Orlando Woolridge: The only player over 6’9? Their entire frontcourt is over 6’9. Ryan Gomes, Al Jeff and Kevin Love are all over 6’9. Also Corey Brewer is I think 6’8.

  • Orlando Woolridge

Gomes is listed at 6’7; Love and Jefferson are listed at 6’10, but there is no way those two are actually that tall; and 6’8′ is shorter than 6’9.
