Raptors to Deal WIth Hedo Turkoglu Internally
Don’t expect any public statements from Turkoglu’s employer in regards to his desire to bolt town. The Toronto Star reports: “If Hedo Turkoglu doesn’t want to come back to Toronto, his departure will not be played out too much in public. Raptors team officials offered no comment Saturday afternoon after a report from his native Turkey in which Turkoglu said he didn’t want to come back to Toronto and that his representatives have made that point to president and general manager Bryan Colangelo. But, as they did when Turkoglu was fined an unspecified amount and benched for a game in Miami on March 28, the Raptors have decided for now to handle the situation internally. However, there is no question that the relationship between the high-priced forward and the franchise is near ruins. Turkoglu, who largely disappointed last season after signing a five-year, $53 million contract as a free agent, remains livid about the way the March incident was handled.”
