Bobcats Sign Sherron Collins

The Kansas City Star reports that the Cats will take a closer look at the boxy four-year Kansas PG: “Former Kansas guard Sherron Collins, who went unselected Thursday night in the 2010 NBA draft, signed a free-agent contract with the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday, according to Collins’ agent. Collins will participate in summer workouts with the Bobcats, who are coached by former KU coach Larry Brown and owned by Michael Jordan. ‘I think last night was probably a disappointing night for (Sherron),’ KU coach Bill Self said. ‘But to wake up this morning and know that Michael Jordan and Larry Brown want him in their camp is something to certainly take the sting off from last night. Hopefully he will go in there with the right frame of mind and with an attitude to go earn it.’”

Reminds me more of Felton than Augustin… Only less talented. He should be a solid backup.

would rather get A.J Slaughter or Scottie Reynold than this fat guy.

I have a feeling Sherron will be the next Khalid El-Amin. A couple years in the league as a bench contributor, and then overseas.

there’s no place in the NBA for overweight point guards. harsh but true.

Great move, I think he was better in college than Ty Lawson to me. He will get in better shape and I like his aggressiveness to take it to the rim, plus he can shoot. Best bobcat pick in the last few drafts and they did not draft him but signed him. That says alot right there.

@The Seed… given that he arrived at workouts 20lbs heavier than at the end of the college season, isn’t a bit too easy to say “He will get in better shape”.

  • Noel

    Not better than Lawson

Just another fat player to add to the Bobcats “heavy rollers hall of fame”.

  • Billy Sunday

he’s too short, overweight, isn’t particularly quick nor fast, he’s a good shooter not a great one, and doesn’t have any NBA skills really. he’s just another great college player and thats it

  • nastierthanu

Really??? Better than ty lawson!!! Really?!!

Doesn’t look like an overweight dude to me, but hey who am i, right?

No, he’s not better than Ty Lawson. That is ludicrous. That is the worst thing I have ever heard. Did you see his dunk this season where he exploded through a double team and crammed on someone? Sherron is a great player, and was supposed to be Chicago’s next Point God (Yeah, I read it, and remembered it too.), but he just couldn’t cut it as a pro. I always find it funny when someone is one of the greatest collegiates ever but is a pro stinker.

he always gets in shape by the start of the season and he can pass, shoot, drive to the basket and he’s a team player ty lawson is overated
