Cavs to Interview Brian Shaw

The Lakers might soon be without both their head coach and his top assistant, as the LA Times reports: “The Lakers continued to be a franchise in flux, as Phil Jackson mulled his future, Brian Shaw received permission to interview with the Cleveland Cavaliers and, almost a footnote, two players were selected in the second round of Thursday’s draft. Jackson takes off Friday for his Montana summer home, where he will make a decision on his future by the end of next week, but if he retires the pool of L.A. candidates might shrink by one. Shaw, a Lakers assistant coach the last five seasons, has been officially approached for an interview by Cleveland, The Times has learned, making this week even busier for the NBA champions. Cleveland needs to hire a head coach.”

Cleveland is just using shaw to put pressure on Byron Scott to make a descision.

  • [...] Many people believed that the Lakers would make Brian Shaw their new head coach “if” Phil leaves, but the Cavs are interfering with that plan. [Slam Magazine] [...]

Bad for LA. If Phil leaves, that might mean that Shaw would have a possibility to be a head coach. He is a good assistant coach and i think Lakers need him the most especially if Phil is out.

I’ll never forgive Brian or Byron if they coach the Cavs.
