    MJ over… Bryon Russell.

Game 1 of 97 Finals, Utah leads by 1, MJ fakes Russell, shot, fist pump. First MJ buzzer-beater I ever witnessed live, still gives me chills up to this time.

MJ over the Cavs and Ehlo. Considered by many the most famous buzzer beater in NBA history. With the best-of-five series tied 2-2 and the Cavaliers leading 100-99, Michael Jordan stopped, pop, double-clutched, hung…and hung…and hung until he drained the jumper to give the Bulls the win. As the ball nestled through the net, Jordan pumped his fists in jubilation, completing a video highlight for the ages. This shot helped plot two very different courses for each franchise. The Bulls would own the ’90s. The Cavs didn’t recover until LeBron.

For me it’s Game one of the 92 Finals. Jordan drained mulstiple 3 pointers, scored 35 in the first half, and gave Cliff Robinson the shrug. I stayed up the whole night to see this game in Germany…good times!

  • Jose

’08 Playoffs, First Round, Game 1, SA/PHX. Tim Duncan’s 3 pointer to send the game into Double Overtime. Duncan already had 35+ points which tells you what everyone always says of him. You can count on him Every night. That one shot honestly changed the whole series and broke Phoenix. All from one Clutch shot from Tim Duncan…

It has to be a tie between Dwyane Wade against the Detroit Pistons or the Heat vs. the Mavs in the Finals. I mean he was only 3 years into his NBA Career and to carry a team like he did, I mean it’s crazy to really think about it. I don’t want to diss MJ because he will always be the best when it comes to willing a team to victory, but come on. And yes he had Shaq but those who say that are just mad because they didn’t have him at the time. I mean Dwade had 25pts, 5 asts, 6 rebounds,nd 2 steals. game 2 he had 32 pts 7 rebs 5 assists. game 3 35pts 4ast 2 stls 14 rebs. nd im nt gonna do all the games bt he took over he let everyone know that hey i got your back. and wen he did that turnaround 360 shot on antonio mcdyesses its was crazy jus crazy. nd he carried that same attitude into the finals which is prolly why they won.

  • ai come back

im probably not gonna get too much love for this but i gotta go with reggies 8 pts in 8.9 seconds i mean seriously if theres one thing taht was completley unexpected it was this……larry brown said he hought they had no chance..but hate him or w/e man got some sick skill…….sides all u knick fans out there…..only knicki liked was marbury/francis lol

    The 2007 Playoffs
The Spurs, after being comfortably in control of Game Four, saw their 11-point fourth quarter lead dwindle away, to a 2-point Suns lead. With 18 seconds left Robert Horry cheapily bodychecked Steve Nash in which he threw his arms in the air, crashing down into the scorers table. Nash’s teammates jumped to his defense; during the ensuing altercation, both Stoudamire and Diaw were suspended one game for there so called actions, and the suns eventually lost that game and the series.

Without that bodycheck I am sure the suns would have gone all the way. Personally this “buzzerbeater” was the most devastating / memorable as a suns fan

  • ai come back

oh wait i dont htink mine conts as a buzzer beater i didnt look at the buzzer beater part lol i saw best playoff momnet ok if slam dont ocunt the other one im goin with my man lebron…….holy crap taht shot was insane…..i was jumpin over people and stuff after i saw that……

02 wcf game 4. Not horry. But samaki walkers halfcourt heave at the end of the firsthalf. It was obviously no good, left his hands way after clock was at zeroes, but for some reason(donagie), refs let it stand and didnt even review it.

  • http://www.stuffwhitepeoplelike.com Tarzan Cooper

Seriously, 05 finals, game 5. ROBERT HORRY, game winning shot, and all the rest of his huge shots in 4th and ot, truly unbelievable

  • JayChau

2003 playoffs San Antonio vs. Phoenix Suns, game 1. I was 13 years old at the moment, and I can remember vividly Marbury’s running bank shot to steal game 1 at San Antone. I am not a Suns fan by any way, but I celebrated too by myself like I was in the moment as the Suns were.

Derek Fishers shot with .4 seconds against the Spurs. Beautiful

    Fisher. 0.4

  • James

Lebrons epic game winner over the magic in game 2 in the conference finals last year. The energy in the game….that momemnt as you see lebron hestitate see it go through and turn with a massive smile on his face as his team swamps him. Thats what the NBA playoffs are about.

  • Shaun McDonald

Although Ron Artest’s buzzer beating hustle rebound, and flip shot in game V of this years Western Conference Finals cut me deep, as I had to watch my fellow canuck, Steve Nash, go another year without a ring, I can’t help but think about Robert Horry. I know MJ’s final shot as a Bull was something straight out of a story book, but that was what was expected from the best ever. Robert Horry scored 21 in the final quarter of game 5 in 05′ and the game winning 3 pointer, which ultimatley secured the series and eventually another title for the Spurs. To me that was more impressive. I hate “Cheap Shot Rob” for what he did in 07′ (again to his former team and again to Steve Nash), but it worked out for the Spurs who, after Horry was suspended for games 5 & 6 of the conference finals but also got Amare and Boris Diaw suspended also, went on to sweep a young Cavaliers team. Don’t argue it was a cheap shot, that’s probably why after that year Horry never played a single game in the L. I ask anyone out there; is their a current player/mvp who is more deserving of a championship than Captain Canada?

  • Danny Farrell

Lebron James scoring 25 straight points vs the Detroit Pistons in game 5

  • the_baller20

How about the 2008 Finals when the Celtics beat the Lakers in game 6 by 39? Their first Larry O’Brien trophy since 1986!!! How about that! You guys gotta take that into consideration.

  • Neon

I’m a Celtic fan and it’s hard to pick just one, so I decided to just go with my favorite recent playoff memory. I got Celtics vs Cavs, Game 4 from this year’s playoffs. Rondo got on a breakaway, with Lebron sizing him up for an all-too familiar chasedown block. But on the very last moment, he wraps it around and leaves it for the trailing Tony Allen. That was when everybody realized, we got you figured out, Lebron.
(Please let me win the Celtics pack, SLAM! Huge SLAM/LRG/Celtic fan, so I need to get my hands on those!)

  • Neon

oops ignore my previous entry, i misread the category!

  • Neon

As a Celtic fan, buzzer beaters have not been historically kind to us. Gar Heard forced a 3rd OT against us in the greatest game ever played, and Zo eliminated us as a rookie in 93. But in the past couple of years, we’ve had our share too, the most recent being Paul Pierce’s game-winner in Miami. My most memorable by far would be Big Baby in last year’s second round. Without KG, Baby had some big shoes to fill, and trailing by a point in Game 4 on the road, they were on the verge of falling into a 3-1 deficit against the Magic. After setting a screen for Pierce, Baby popped out and made himself open for an 18-foot jumper from the left wing. It was extra special for me because this was an undermanned team that still found ways to win by trusting each other and trusting the system.

  • RyandC

As a Laker fan, the earlier part of the decade gave us a much heated rivalry with the northerners of Sacramento. Ill admit now that those Kings gave us fits and Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals was not looking good. Down by as much as 24, a loss at Staples wouldve sent the Lakes back to Sacramento down 1-3 in the series for a possible series clinching Game 5. Down 2, the 2 Alpha Dogs miss their shots and Vlade tips the ball as far away from the basket as he can time winding down towards 0. and the rest is history.

  • RYPTORSLOVE

simple “the shot” y’know the one 1989 game 5 first round. Jordan hits the jumper at the buzzer to win the game and the series. Just beautiful.

i hope you consider dekimbe mutombo’s buzzer beating block to beat the top seed supersonics. i was a sonic fan that time but still had my eyed glued to the screen as it showed mutombo on the floor, hugging the ball, and crying/laughing at the same time.

  • Dominique

Stephon Marbury on the Spurs. Before you react in absolute disgust, allow me to justify my choice. No, this isn’t the best playoff buzzer beater i’ve ever witnessed, but rather, it’s the BEST i’ve seen!! While the majority will more likely suggest one of the many Horry heroics (as should i), i find this buzzer beater more captivating than any other, simply because of Frank Johnson’s reaction. No other coach would have reacted the way he did after a win. Absolute classic. BRING FRANK BACK!!!

Lebron on Orlando 2009 playoffs conference finals

  • Josh

My most memorable playoff moment was the Laker vs Suns series in 05/06. The Lakers forced a turnover on Steve Nash and pushed the ball up to Mamba, who hit an incredibly difficult, and often overlooked, floater. But he wasn’t done. A jump ball at half lands in Kobe’s hands. You could see him measuring the shot the whole way up the court. Raises up for a mid-range jumper, two hands in his face. The Staples Center goes crazy.

  • Tanner

Though most of my memorable playoff moments revolve around the G.O.A.T (which is still Jordan btw), I would have to say the Denver Nuggets defeating then #1 seed Seattle was a great moment. Watching Mount Mutombo collapse on the floor with that ball griped tightly in his giant hands showed his passion and love for the game and for winning that series.

  • Otto

Mario Elie, Kiss of Death in game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Phoenix Suns

  • Ali Saadat

The most memorable playoff buzzer beater has to be Derek Fisher’s 0.4. You can hit a jump shot with time left. You can drive to the lane and hit a runner in 5 seconds or so but how difficult is it to shoot at the basket off a pass in under half a second? Derek Fisher stunned San Antonio, LA, and the basketball world from Boston to Beijing. (BTW D-Fish came up clutch again last night).

  • Ryan K

Fisher’s 0.4 second shot is the most memorable playoff buzzer beater. You cannot get any closer to the buzzer than Fish did that night.

  • zion davis

1998 jordan crossover on the jazz and the game winner to win the finals for the third time in a row its unbelievable!he has so many big shots.Another one is the shot against cleveland to end their hopes in the playoffs!UNBELIEVABLE!

2004 West Semi_finals Game 5.. Derek Fisher catch and shoot with 0.4 left on the clock to lead the lakers to a win over the spurs. This happened after Tim Duncan hit a miracle shot that gave the spurs a 1-point lead.

  • Timothy Pete

It would have to be Ray Allen over the Bulls in the 08-09 Playoffs to force another overtime. I was going for Bulls but the Celtics took it but you have to give Bulls credit for giving the previous champs a rough start to the Playoffs
