Could Darren Collison Be Made Available?

The Hornets are back in luxury tax territory heading into the ’10-11 season, but are they looking to trade the wrong PG? “Rival executives will continue to try to convince the Hornets to make Chris Paul available in trades, pointing to the fact that Williams can simply slide the promising Darren Collison and his modest $1.4 million salary into that spot. When those teams get shot down, look for the Hornets — based on the hints we’ve received from more than one exec — to make Collison available as long as the interested party is willing to take back the cap-clogging contract of Emeka Okafor, James Posey or Peja Stojakovic with Paul’s backup.”

Terrible decision to bring in okafur last year just to save on the short-run. I can see Atlanta trying to get collison since bibby really sucks now

wow collison and okafor for cap space… that’s almost as good as signing a top tier FA. about the same as signing a joe johnson I think, or even better.

i would give them rudy fernandez and Portland would be set for a bright future: Collison
    Brandon Roy
    Nic Batum
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Greg Oden

I hope he stays in NO. He might get even better under the watchful eyes and tutelage of Paul. Although I hope ATL gets Paul.

Collison & Okafor for Beasley, Cook and Pick #18

  • The Philosopher

We knew this situation would arise once Collison kept that team respectable after Chris Paul broke down. Players make each other expendable all the time.
