Heat Pick Up Option On Key Player

You weren’t thinking Dwyane Wade, were you? Anyway, Mario Chalmers will be back on the Heat, as the Sun-Sentinel reports: “Point guard Mario Chalmers has become the third Miami Heat player secured on the books for 2010-11. While neither side would confirm the formal paperwork has been completed, the Sun Sentinel has learned that the Heat has informed Chalmers that it will pick up the option year on his rookie contract. The Heat had until June 24, the day of the NBA Draft, to make its decision. Chalmers now joins forward Michael Beasley and guard Daequan Cook as the only Heat players locked into 2010-11 salaries.”

If the Heat don’t add Amare Staudamire or Chris Bosh to their roster they will suck even if Wade resign. If I were Wade I would wait until the team confirms Amare or Bosh’s signing, I think either one should be possible but I’m sure LeBron would want to take Bosh to the Knicks if he decides to bounce and if Amare decides to stay put that will make it tough on Wade to lure a good big to play with him. God I wish I had these problems to deal with ;)

Stupid headline. It’s not even misleading or funny. Just stupid.

Anchorage, AK in the house. That being said, I’m sure Wade would prefer not having Chalmers as his PG anymore, or Beasley as his PF for that matter…

If they get an all-star big to pair with Wade, they should look to trade Beasley. Portland has some talent they are willing to trade. Maybe bring Caron butler back to south florida. Or go after Shane Battier and Luis Scola. But if he ends up being a consistent SF, he is exactly what they need. However, they may get tired of waiting for that.
