Pacers Looking to Trade Pick for a Point Guard?

Larry Bird is working the phones and emails heavily, in search of an established point guard in exchange for the Pacers’ first-round pick tonight. Sayeth the Indy Star: “Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird believes the quickest way to get back to the playoffs is to trade the No. 10 pick in Thursday’s NBA draft for an established point guard who can help immediately. That’s what the Pacers are trying to do. Aggressively. The Pacers have inquired about New Orleans’ Darren Collison, San Antonio’s George Hill, Denver’s Ty Lawson and Minnesota’s Jonny Flynn. Collison, Hill and Lawson were backups last season who flourished when replacing injured starters. ‘There’s a lot of options out there,’ Bird said Tuesday. ‘At this stage, you’re just talking to different teams. You make offers and people start thinking about them. There’s nothing concrete right now, but we do have a lot of offers out there and different scenarios. I want to win; our team wants to win. If the right deal comes up, we would probably move forward. You never know what’s going to happen, but it’s time to win here.’ Bird and general manager David Morway have been talking to almost any team that has point guards available.”

And by established point guard, could they mean Tony Parker? Or Mo Williams? (both recent threads haha.)

Wish Calderon hadn’t tanked his value last year. Would love to see the Raps send him to Indy.
