Sixers Accidentally ‘Draft’ Evan Turner

The Daily News’ Phil Jasner has a whole page of Philadelphia Draft notes that you can read in its entirety, but one buried nugget’s good for a laugh: “A page on the Sixers’ website inadvertently showed up briefly the other day with the headline ‘Sixers Draft Evan Turner.’ Mike Preston, the team’s director of public relations, explained that similar pages were prepared for ‘the top candidates’ but that they were not supposed to be posted. Preston said the Turner page showed up ‘for a matter of seconds.’

    Turner is a solid second prize. Got the skill to go with his 6’7″ frame. He will be a good scorer in the L.

    If they draft Turner…. Who do you keep out of Iggy and Young ? One of them will have to be moved.

    Iggy can play both the 2 guard and the Small Forward position, and Young is entirely a Small Forward. Id say draft turner and make him a starter as a shooting guard. Iggy would be just fine at the 3 and then moving back to the 2 guard position when Young comes off the bench.

    The explanation makes perfect sense. Of course they don’t write the news when they happen, they have written a piece for every possible option. Then they just upload the correct one. No biggie.
