Wizards ‘Not Actively Trading’ Gilbert Arenas

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis met with Arenas last month and has been in contact with the point guard via e-mail: “‘We had a great meeting,’ Leonsis said. ‘The conversation was about, ‘Here’s a line, and you can’t cross this line.’ The scrutiny around you has quadrupled. You need to internalize that. There are some things you can’t joke about anymore.’ ‘We’re not actively trading him,’ Leonsis continued. ‘But I would ask you to put yourself in another general manager’s shoes. He was injured for two years and suspended for a year and he’s a max [contract] player. If you were another team’s general manager, would you be trading for Gilbert Arenas right now?’”

lol he’s not actively trading him because no one will take him. actually no one would take him even before the gun charges. that contract was awful. even without the bad knee it’s barely justifiable for someone who puts up numbers but can’t win. awesome.

Gun laws are way harsher in Canada… Look it up before you speak… Good old jump to conclusions Americans!

  • Rikson

Wow… I thought he was gone for good, despite his contract!

  • MikeC.

Gun laws are far far stricter in Canada. Our government is so strict on guns that they pissed away billions of dollars in an attempt to make farmers and hunters register old hunting rifles and long-barrel shotguns. On the plus side, when I hear a gunshot, I think of eating duck or goose for dinner, not diving for cover.
