Cavs Targeting Jonny Flynn

The Cavaliers are in discussions about acquiring Jonny Flynn, LeBron’s fellow LRMR member, from the TWolves. Like every other last-minute mussing and move, it’s hard to imagine Flynn to be enough to change LeBron’s mind. From Brian Windhorst: “Sources: Cavs are in trade talks with Minnesota Timberwolves for PG Jonny Flynn. Flynn is represented by #LeBron’s agent & LRMR.”

I’m a Syracuse student and here’s how it went: Jonny Flynn goes on local TV and promises to stay one more season, if not two. The town and university alike rejoice. A week later, LBJ Agent Leon Rose comes to the Law School to give “a presentation.” Finds time in those 24-48 hours to meet with Flynn, talk him out of his intended loyalty and give him a contract. Which he signed. Hmm.

Whether they want to keep LBJ or not. They need a reliable ball handler to back-up/succeed Mo.

i can’t fault any player going in the first round– particularly lottery– for taking guaranteed millions instead of staying in school.

@LA Huey: key word being reliable. Flynn is up there among PGs with the most turnovers. Should be a starter on the Cavs soon enough tho. Mo’s defense and intensity is just sad in comparison.

@WangChung, I don’t doubt that his TO numbers will go down once he adjusts to the speed of the game. He won’t be an All-Star but I can see him being a Fisher on a contender w/ a couple more years.

he’s a good player. 2.9 TOs but only 4.4 assists is kinda lame, but not bad for a rookie PG. I think he will be a great player. cavs don’t really have anyone to trade him for tho.

Man they will be screwed if LeBron doesnt sign 4 them

Imagine what Minnesota’s backcourt could have been if they selected Jennings and Curry.

their back court would have been extra small and getting smashed on D!!! look at the size of the other pg’s and sg’s at around the league.
