Chris Bosh: Miami Bound

The Heat is definitely on.

ESPN‘s sources say it’s a done deal, and that Bosh will soon be a member of the Heat: “Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are teaming up together on the Miami Heat, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. Whether LeBron James, the kingpin of this summer’s celebrated free agent class, will join them remains to be seen … Wade and Bosh are expected to announce their decision on Wednesday, according to the source.  It was not immediately clear whether Bosh will sign with Miami outright or join the Heat through a sign-and-trade deal. Bosh could earn $125 million over six years via sign-and-trade, but only $96 million over five without it. ‘Either way, he’s definitely going to Miami,’ the source said.”

UPDATE: In addition to ESPN’s report, the Miami Herald, Sun-Sentinel and Yahoo!, have all jumped on board with confirming reports. Miami is now in in position to secure free agency’s premier Trifecta by adding Cleveland superstar LeBron James.

i didnt really want russian spy wade or megasuperstar bosh on the bulls anyways. we’re still good.

  • Booyah

Miami fans – enjoy Bosh’s soft mid-range game plus one 3 a night. Don’t expect weakside help, any blocked shots on people his height, or crashing for tough rebounds! Guaranteed 2-3 injuries per 5 years. Go Heat!

  • magicmic

Bloody hell, Rupaul is not a key factor or force down low at all! Ok he’s a versatile big man offensively, can shot, occasional post up game but he can’t play D to save he’s life!

Guys like Tim Duncan will have a field day with Rupaul down low and D’Howard would eat him up….actually anyone over 180 lbs will! lol

dang myles, your comment was so insightful it broke the boundaries of the comment box!

I think if Bosh does a sign and trade, then lebron has the chance to go to the heat. either way that’s a good idea as it allows them to bring in a center a la brendan haywood. then they can resign dorrell wright and give him PT that he deserves, and start chalmers at PG. That’s better than BOS’s starting five only cuz the big 3 are younger and better too. Rondo and Perkins (well he’s out for at least half the season now) are better than wright and chalmers, but still cant’ make up for LBJ and wade and bosh better than pierce KG and allen at their respective stages of their career. heck, even if it was at their primes they’re still not as good as the potential heat big 3.

if LeBron goes to Miami, there only a few pieces left. Look at the classic championship formula:

    2.5 Superstars
    MIA: Wade, James, Bosh
    LAL: Kobe, Gasol, Artest
    BOS: Pierce, Garnett, Allen
    Jordan Bulls: Jordan, Pippen, Rodman
    Rebounding Bigs (preferably w/mid-range)
    MIA: Bosh, Haslem, ?
    LAL: Bynum, Gasol, Odom
    BOS: Garnett, Perkins, Davis
Jordan Bulls: H. Grant, Longley, Rodman
    Battery of 3pt Shooters
    MIA: Cook, Richardson, Chalmers, ?
LAL: Fisher, Vujacic, Farmar, Brown, Ariza
    BOS: Posey, Allen, House, Pierce
Jordan Bulls: Kerr, Paxon, Armstrong, Kukoc
    Defensive Specialist:
    MIA: Chalmers, ?
LAL: Artest, Fisher (even though he’s a flopper), Ariza
    BOS: Rondo, Posey
Jordan Bulls: almost anyone on the team that wasn’t a 3pt shooter
    Good Coach
    MIA: Pat Riley
    LAL: Phil Jackson
    BOS: Doc Rivers
    Jordan Bulls: Phil Jackson

    I am lovin` it!!

and i´m happy for eboy, don´t know why though :) )

btw, I still believe lebron will stay in cle even if those other options are very attractive. I just can´t imagine him not being the king (wade is in “his county” and prince bosh) on his team.

    NICE OFFSEASON SO FAR!!

    Trade for chris quinn

  • http://twitter.com/darrellma dma

OK so let’s say Lebron doesn’t get to Miami, which he won’t. Heat will still be under the cap. Sign some 2nd tier player like Mike Miller or Brendan Haywood and while still under the cap, make a trade for Gilbert Arenas.

  • Harry Mo Lester

Good Luck CB we’ll miss you in Toronto…you deserve to win..if you can play a full season

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

F*ck you Bosh, turning down $30M because of 41 home games in Cleveland.

  • redrowdy0

well i guess rockets fans are just gonna have to put their faith in scola and patterson at the pf and thats fine with me. i wanted bosh but im excited to see patrick patterson play with rick adlemans team

  • Chris?

Called it 3 years ago after Gasol was traded, Bosh was destined to be a Gasol, not a superstar.

Well. The questions now becomes… can LBJ share a team with Wade, or will his ego get in the way.

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

No, the question now is who does Toronto boo louder? Bosh, Vince, or Hedo? For the first time ever, Raptor/Heat games in the ACC will be boo-ed on offense and defense.

  • Exile

Anton…. Why the hell would Toronto Boo Bosh?

  • DKM

“There is no way Lebron will go to Miami now. If he goes there, they would win like 5 championships…but everyone will say Lebron can’t do it by himself.”

Lebron has already shown he can’t do it by himself.

  • C-Lo_The_Great

well he gave up on his team at the end of the season when fighting for a playoff spot

  • http://www.nba.com/sun Dacre

Exile – The rule of thumb is that if you percieve your ‘best’ player sells out and wants to get off the sinking ship known as your home team then you by the unwritten law of sportsmanship must boo them when said player visits with new team. It’s not something we are familiar with as Suns fans but I’m sure e could work on something with Amar’e. We’d just as much settle for the 127-113 win.

  • Shem

Anyone that says the Bulls haven’t done much since 98 and the fans should be angry needs to look at the Raps. 15 years of existance, 1 second round appearance and a couple of first round exits. Mainly watching the playoffs from their couch. Now that Bosh is gone (probably for nothing, so there’s cap room for Bron and the Raps aren’t interested in a sign and trade due to Bosh’s twitter account) this could possibly be the 3rd franchise player we’ve given up for nothing. Vince Carter, TMAC, CB4. Damn, I guess we’re in a rebuilding stage. The worst part is, that all the teams we we’re competing for for the 5th seed are just getting better. Bucks added Maggette and re-signed Salmons, Heat added Bosh obviously, Bobcats well they ain’t doing much but they’re still better and now the Bulls added Boozer. To top it off the teams that didn’t even make the playoffs last year got better. Knicks adding Amar’e, Wizards and Wall, Nets gaining experience. It’s just not a good time to be a Raptors fan..

  • rich

toronto fans boo everyone trust me, its lashing out frustrations for how bad the leafs are

  • http://www.clownpenis.com Tarzan Cooper

Theres an nba team in canada?

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

And the Raptors get nothing in return? They should have at least signed and traded Bosh to Minnesota for Al Jefferson! SMH.

  • liam

as a miami fan i wouldnt mind at all if we brought back alot of last years 47win top-ranked defense in the nba team to surround wade and bosh with…….. we have last years team but upgraded our 2nd option IMMENSELY, plus Wade will be as good as he was in 08-09 show up in 110% top shape motivated as hell to win big, unlike first half of 09-10………. and so we upgraded huge at the PF spot, so we should trade Beasley for more help while bringing back guys like Oneal and Joel and Qrich and Wright to be roleplayers…… wouldnt mind seeing beasley and jermaine go to dallas for haywood and jason terry (terry expires after this year right? so he could be our 3rd option and pg and if we dont win it all we need more upgrading next summer, much like summer of 05)

Either way Wade most likely wins the MVP award next year

  • http://NBA.com S.Man

Ten years as a Raptor fan and we’re right back to square one. F*ck.

  • Bruno

there-s no way Lebron is goin to Miami … and by the way Bosh sucks!!!

  • Slick Ric23

@Eboy: calm yo lame ass down. miami organizations and FANS still suck loser.

  • fonz

I dont know why everyone keeps saying that the combination of Wade/Bosh or Stat/Chandler/Galliarni are better than the Combo of Harris/Lee/Lopez or Rose/Deng/Gibson/Boozer/Noah.
Yes I have a Bulls bias but they are the better fit for Lebron to win now. The combo of the “Dream Team” Wade Bosh and Lebron would not work because wade and Lebron would need the ball to much and whatever happened to bosh wanting to be centerpiece of the team. He is clearly second choice right now and would be 3rd choice with Lebron coming.
And sure Lebron would average a triple double ith Dantoni but Lebron could average a triple double aneywhere else as well.
And the Nets look nice but lets not forget that they did only win 12 games and find ways to lose games just like the knicks.
And with the bulls you clearly have it all a young superstar pg who isnt afraid to share the ball or take over the game if needed, a rising center, an allstar in boozer who can take it in the hole and releive lebron of some pressure when he drives in, gibson who is on his way to becoming the next boozer and deng who is a bit overrated but can knock down that jumpshot when wide open-which he will be if lebron comes.

  • kousinkar

I’m a diehard Knicks fan and I think Chicago is clearly the best basketball/legacy destination for Lebron (MJ shadow stuff is nonsense – he will be taking MJs throne and reviving the Bulls’ legacy), but I also think that anybody that feels that DWade and Lebron couldn’t work together is crazy. They both know how to move off the ball, and I can only imagine how many backdoor alley-oops those two would combine for. And given their excellent rebounding capabilities, I can also easily imagine how often DWade or Bron would pick up long rebounds and start the fast break while the other leaks out for the highlight finish.

LeBron is going to the Nyets.

    http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67957/20100708/multiple_reports_lebron_plans_to_choose_miami_heat/

The Heat will be a dynasty if this goes down, not only are these offensive phenoms but each and every one of them can play D! Also think of this, one of these players will always get the 3rd best player guarding them night in and night out. That’s a BIG difference from last year where they always had that lockdown defender on them. Teams will have to pick their poison. Say the Heat meat the Magic in the conference finals.. Bosh will be guarded by Howard, LeBron will be guarded by Barnes and Wade will be guarded by Vince Carter? This also doesn’t allow the Magic to play Redick because usually Redick would Quentin Richardson if these two teams played. I don’t know guys, this is arguably the best top 3 combo in the history of the NBA (I’m already proclaiming them the best ever but it hasn’t happened yet ahahah sorry but I have a feeling LeBRON is going)

  • Aaron

Bosh and Wade will do work. I just hope the Lebron show doesn’t spoil it.

  • http://twincityslim@yahoo.com Jahi

Chris Bosh should have signed with the Houston Rockets. Likewise, I believe this means that LeBron James is joining the Knicks. The biggest name in basketball playing in the capitol of Western civilization. The big apple move will be good for the NBA and LeBron James. For this reason, I still believe the Nets can get him too.

    Eboy just another loser
