Chris Bosh: Miami Bound

The Heat is definitely on.

ESPN‘s sources say it’s a done deal, and that Bosh will soon be a member of the Heat: “Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are teaming up together on the Miami Heat, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. Whether LeBron James, the kingpin of this summer’s celebrated free agent class, will join them remains to be seen … Wade and Bosh are expected to announce their decision on Wednesday, according to the source.  It was not immediately clear whether Bosh will sign with Miami outright or join the Heat through a sign-and-trade deal. Bosh could earn $125 million over six years via sign-and-trade, but only $96 million over five without it. ‘Either way, he’s definitely going to Miami,’ the source said.”

UPDATE: In addition to ESPN’s report, the Miami Herald, Sun-Sentinel and Yahoo!, have all jumped on board with confirming reports. Miami is now in in position to secure free agency’s premier Trifecta by adding Cleveland superstar LeBron James.

    Hi.

  • rayray

    Should be interesting…
    Lebron will stay.

  • robz

    DWADE + LJ23 (hopefully) + CB4 = heat dynasty

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Hello.

  • jumpman3244

This alone may be enough to keep Wade, but not enough for a title. Is Wade staying in MIA a foregone conclusion at this point? Even with his custody issues? Also, I don’t believe ESPN for a minute these days.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Hi haters.

  • http://www.myspace.com/royaltyoftommorow Tommy

depends on who they put around them. a sign and trade with them, who did they give up? if they kept beasley and lebron doesnt sign with them, they will be able to get a shooter and prolly go after brendan haywoode

  • jumpman3244

How do you think this effects the LBJ announcement? Is MIA back in the mix?

  • mike

    It’s official!!!!!!!!

  • Fat Lever

If anyone thinks Lebron is going to MIA with the above knowledge, they are a fool. Can’t see him returning to Cleveland, considering that it’s essentially the same roster as before, and all the marquee complimentary pieces are off the board at this point. I think it’s either Chicago or NYK, with Chicago in the lead. Good move for MIA bringing Bosh in, but I think the key now is getting a solid PG that can get these guys the ball where they want it.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

How many years has it been since the Chicago fires?

  • slamfan4life

thanks Eboy, but chicagos gonna be fine regardless of this deal

congrats to MIA fans, Bosh is sick

Even if LeBron doesn’t chooce Chi, they WILL improve…..no matter what

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

Bosh is now very Miami bound. Once he and Wade officially sign with the Heat, Miami will have like 5 players under contract for next year.

  • Kap

@Fat Lever…U gotta think NY is in the lead. Forbes estimated he could earn a BILLION dollars in NY plus they have Amare, Gallinari, Chandler and some cap room left and they could sign and trade Lee for some extra pieces like Ellis or Jefferson/Flynn.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah………..the BEST PAIR IN THE NBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    NY – Amare and Gallo
    Clev – Mo and Jamison
    Chi – Rose and Noah
    Mia – Wade and Bosh

Hmmmm…..where to go, where to go?

  • ai come back

bs bosh in cleveland or in chicago

  • Kap

Lebron could average damn near a triple double playing in D’Antoni’s system. There are so many positives for Lebron if he signs with NY…

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com Hursty

    ^already does that.

  • Fat Lever

Sorry, I just don’t see a D’Antoni team winning a title. They play absolutely no D, which is fun to watch and all, but eventually exposes them the deeper they go in the playoffs. I think it’s Chicago. If it’s truly about winning titles, Bron shouldn’t sign with NY.

  • http://www.shawnkemp.com JACO

As a heat fan I am dancing in happiness hearing this but i gotta feel bad for bulls fans now cause they probably could have had dwyane or lebron or bosh but now it seems like they wont get anything

  • Kap

@Fat lever…Its all about money and fame at the end of the day. Winning would just be icing on the cake.

  • Fat Lever

I’ll tell you who I think would be the real perfect fit on that Bulls team. Better than Lebron or Wade or Bosh. Melo. If the Bulls lose out, I wouldn’t be worried, cause if I were the GM, I’d be setting my sights on getting Melo.

  • http://www.bugshots.info LeoneL

Elton Brand and Baron Davis anyone?

  • The D Train

Eboy’s constant Rose-Noah bashing is great. Good stuff. Congrats on getting Bosh to team up with Wade. Not sure it makes them an Eastern Conference power until we see how they fill out the roster, but those two should form a pretty nice pair. Also should note that if Wade and Bosh had signed in Chicago, that would have been a pretty nice foursome. As I mentioned previously, I just couldn’t see any of those cats leaving tons of extra dough on the table, regardless of where their children might live part-time.

  • The D Train

@JACO: Bulls fan here. Not to worry, we can still sign Randy Foye!

  • slamfan4life

Damn Eboy, pouring salt on them wounds for us Bulls fans!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Since the season ended, all I’ve heard is that the Bulls were going to catapult into the stratosphere buy adding someone (or two) big and that the Heat would dissolve into nothingness ’cause Wade had no reason to stay in Miami. Yeah….I should stay quiet, you guys are right.

  • The D Train

Eboy’s Laker-fan bashing has apparently turned him to the dark side. His Lake-fan’esque comments are filled with vitriol and smarminess the likes of which haven’t been seen since the responses to some of us (cough, cough) bashing Kobe for his 6-24, Game 7 showing.

  • Nashty

There is no way Lebron will go to Miami now. If he goes there, they would win like 5 championships…but everyone will say Lebron can’t do it by himself. And as much as Lebron likes to win, he cannot have that asterisk on his legacy. I say he goes to NY.

  • http://Www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Bron ain’t staying. You take two minutes to stay, you take an hourlong ESPN special to say goodbye. The charity bit makes him look like less of a jerk. He ain’t playing in Miami either. Not exactly a show of solidarity or selfessness to have two separate press conferences is it?

  • http://www.lacuevacrosscountry.com Slick Nick Da Ruler

I hope Haslem can stay with MIA, they now need a 3rd scorer and a defensive 3. Eboy, is Beasley staying put? How does his role evolve in MIA?

  • The D Train

Well, the whispers have definitely grown much louder for NY in the last day or so. But as a Bulls fan who had the media screaming that Lebron was going to Chi, and maybe bringing Wade and/or Bosh with him, don’t believe the hype. All that aside, watching Lebron and Amare play pitch and catch on the pick and roll might be the single most entertaining play in the NBA. The amount of thunder being brought down on opponents would be other-worldly.

  • Kap

The more I thnk about it the more I believe LBJ will sign with Miami unfortunately…

  • http://twincityslim@yahoo.com Jahi

I guess the owner of the Nets called this before most. This pretty much ensures that Lebron James will join the Knicks or Nets tomorrow. His heart is in Cleveland, but they can’t surround him with enough talent, as the superstars do not want to play in Cleveland, period.

  • The D Train

You know, Kap, there would be a certain amount of humor in that. Centerpiece Bosh and King James riding Wade’s coattails.

  • Kap

I thnk it would be more interesting if LBJ signed with NY though…Wade vs Lebron and Bosh vs Stoudemire

  • ccantrell

still dont see bosh going to miami.. if he does bron
will most likely still end up with the bulls to team
with rose and noah and, regardless of that idiot eboy
might think, form one of the top teams in the leage..
if only bosh would follow bron to chi-town.. it would
be the best thing for both of them to do

  • ai come back

    YO JAHI, THE BULLS???!!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bulls fans have BEEN bitter since 1998, there is no hurting my feelings ’cause ya’ll’s management team sucks the proverbial “hairy d*ck”. Stop hating.

  • cp3fan

Still no guarantee of a championship even if LeBron joins them. Still not better than the Lakers. Still have to deal with the Magic and the Celtics. Who are they going to put around those guys with the money that they have left?

  • rikson

    lol @ LeoneL

  • T-Money

Cats have no idea of how dominant Miami would be with these 3 guys. No idea. Not sure Bron WANTS to do it but if he does, it’s going to be ugly.

  • Hawkace22

    Lebron to knicks

  • ccantrell

@eboy.. get off this site n take your filthy trash
    talking with u

  • Ronald

If Bron does go to Miami, I wonder how much all 3 are leaving on the table.

  • http://theurbangriot.com The Nupe

It would be interesting to see bron/bosh/wade on the same team. I think bosh’s stats would pretty much stay where they have been for the last couple years, but seems like something would have to give between bron/wade. The big 3 in boston realized that and it worked, but they were ‘mature’ when they came to the realization that each needs to give up personal stats for the good of the team, I’m not sure wade/bron are ready for that. Then again, since they don’t have any other talent on the team, maybe they don’t have to give up too much. Bron by himself was able to make the playoffs, Wade by himself made the playoffs so with these two together with Bosh, they’ll def make the playoffs, but I’m not sure they get a ring without good talent around them. I think the worst case scenario for Bron is to go to Miami and not win a ring or three. On the other hand, if he stays in Cleveland and wins a ring then he’s considered one of the greatest ever (although personally I believe the rings argument is stupid and invalid). If he stays and never wins a ring, he’s still a hero that was loyal to a team that never had the management to put everything around him. I think he goes to NJ where he can be the man and ‘take a risk’ by building another franchise that’s willing to put talent around him.

Woohooo! i’m liking this so much!!! South beach dynasty in the making!
i also see LBJ signing with the knicks because the cavs couldn’t get bosh and that’s what the king really wanted, legitimate help.
but they couldn’t have him so there is no reason for him to come back anymore.
as for NY, New york is basketball! and the fans will love him as much as they did in Akron, maybe even better given that they are very much in need of a savior, a hero or a KING to rule their kingdom!
    LBJ-AMARE vs WADE-BOSH! N.Y. vs MIA rivalry 2K!

  • vtrobot

this is the eastern conf. we’re talking about. this move makes them an eastern conf. power. i think bosh will play really well with someone as good as d. wade. bosh played amazingly at the olympics. it will be nice to see the guy play on TV more ’cause they haven’t been showing a ton of nationally televised raps games the past several years. (did i just not watch them?) now the dude just needs a get a hair cut and really start fresh. those braids don’t really help when shaq is calling you rupaul.

So, when will Erik Spolestra hold a press conference saying that he is quitting coaching to spend more time with his family?
