David Lee Being Traded to the Warriors?

Reports out of the Bay Area claim that the Knicks and Warriors are closing in on a deal to swap power forwards. From the Oakland Tribune: “The Warriors are close to a sign-and-trade with the New York Knicks for their All-Star power forward David Lee, according to multiple sources. The Warriors would send forward Anthony Randolph — not guard Monta Ellis as previously rumored — along with a few other pieces to New York. But, like the rest of the universe, they are waiting on LeBron James. If James announces he’s decided to play anywhere but New York, the Warriors are in play for Lee. The Warriors are one of a few teams in the mix for Lee via a sign-and-trade with the Knicks. And the Warriors have an offer the Knicks favor, a team source said. Randolph could be joined by center Ronny Turiaf or swingman Kelenna Azubuike, and an expiring contract such as forward Vladimir Radmanovic. Golden State management, one source said, still considers it a real possibility that Lee takes a lucrative offer elsewhere, or the Knicks do a sign-and-trade with another team. But as long as James doesn’t go to the Knicks, the Warriors are ‘in the game.”‘

i think Randolph would be a good look for the Knicks. Unfortunately, he’ll basically be playing for Don Nelson 2.0…

I would love this trade if Kelenna would be included.

love the fact that the knicks are getting randolph – randolph and gallo give them two versatile young wings to pair with ama’re and whoever they can lure next year – hope it’s melo but with the lockout looming you have to think he’ll be forced to accept the extension from the nuggets

Good move for GS. Selling Randolph when his stock is high, and bringing in some much-needed physicality in Lee.

I guess amare will be playing center again. This should end well.

It’s hard for me to be hopeful when Nellie’s still holding this team hostage.

Am I the only David Lee fan on the planet? This guy is awesome. I’m sad to see he’s going to another crappy team, when he really deserves to play for a contender. What a waste of his skills.

@LA Huey…I’m a D. Lee fan too and would much rather see him play for the bulls, the nets or even OKC…but at least he’s going to tems that would appreciate him…Lee is a 20 and 10 dude and I honestly he woulda been a better acquisition than Boozer…
