Eddie House, Heat Agree to 2 Years, $2.8M

Sorry Bulls fans, Eddie House makes another nice signing for the Heat. From Adrian Wojnarowski: “The Heat have reached an agreement with 32-year-old guard Eddie House on a two-year contract for $2.8 million, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday. The second year of the deal is a player option for $1.4 million. Miami beat out the Chicago Bulls to get House. With a history of clutch shooting that includes multiple big games with the Boston Celtics over the past three years, House will help support Miami’s starry core off the bench.”

    Chickensh*t.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Yet Kobe couldn’t guard Paul Pierce or Ray Allen if his live depended on it. Strange.

  • truthteller

@Eboy: I just got back. The teachers told me they’re still expecting you to show up.

  • T-Money

The Seed: You lose a lot of credibility when you say that Atlanta (a team that Bron Bron sweeped with freaking Cleveland and Orlando dismantled this year) may challenge Miami because of Shaq. A Shaq that you said was completely over the hill LAST year when he played with Bron now you say he’s going to be the X-Factor because he plays against Bron? / E: Lakers fans are WORRIED. They just can’t stop talking about Miami.

  • truthteller

@Eboy: Alright Eboy, I guess JTaylor and your biggest cheerleader, LZ convinced me that you’ve always been a heat fan. I just never noticed that amongst all the hate you were spewing out! So, I guess you’re not a bandwagon fan like I claimed you were. We cool?
@LZ: As for you Liz, I’ve been a Kobe fan since ’96 when he first came into the league and have been riding with him ever since through everything (getting swept by Utah and the spurs to them winning 3 in a row to all the beef with him and shaq to the rape charge to the team missing the playoffs the year shaq left to the lakers getting beat by phonenix two years in a row in the first round to him wanting out of LA to them losing badly to the cletic until now. And of course through all the never ending hate)so,you can get off your knees now.

  • JTaylor21

Yeah how come kobe never guards PP or Ray but is always resting/hiding claiming his guarding rondo. MJ never rested or was hidden on a weak offensive player, never. Dude gets eaten alive by aggressive scorers plain and simple. @cantrell, kobe is not a top 10 defender anymore and hasn’t been for a while.

  • truthteller

T-Money: You got it all backwards! Heat fans can’t stop talking about Miami!

  • truthteller

Jtaylor: so are you saying that he once was a great defender?

  • JTaylor21

@thruthteller. Don’t put words in my mouth. I would never claim that kobe was once a great defender, he was a very good defender but not 8 first team defender great.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    You guys are silly.

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

I’m not a fan of Eboy’s drawings, but the boat thing made me laugh out loud during work. Not good.

  • truthteller

JTaylor: Now is that just the usual hate talking or are you really serious? Please tell me your kidding? Please!!!!!!!

  • truthteller

@Jtaylor: I guess nxt you’re gonna say that Kobe isn’t really a great scorer. he’s a good scorer but he’s overrated on scoring, right? Come on, you know you want to say it. The rest of the haters have been saying it. So, go ahead and join them!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Sorry Jukai.

  • Riot! Wyatt!

@truthteller. I’m as serious as kobe in a hotel room. Even artest was a way better defender than kobe this season but he wasn’t first team D.

  • JTaylor21

@Riot Wyatt. U stole my comment, thieving bastarderdo. @truthteller, kobe is a great high volume, low efficiency scorer but not the greatest in history.

ATL will be better with Shaq, yes he is over the hill, but ATL problem is playing with undersized players in the center postion. ATL did get sweeped by Cleveland, but CLEVELAND had the best record in the league, People forget the team had the best record in the league two years straight. Until the LeChoke series.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

    JTaylor21
Arenas did get 60 points, but all were not on Kobe, that year Kobe played with scrubs, heck Kobe scored 81 on a TEAM. Kobe can play defense, he shuts down people when he wants to, please check the old tapes of Kobe, Now Kobe is not the defender he was, but during the Olympic team, EVERYONE credited him with bringing defense to the team, even the HEAT team now. Go watch the old interviews from the Olympic team, LeGONE came back playind defense better. Wade is a good defender, but he gambles too much.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

    Ebay
The boat you made with me in it, I know you know about being held captive, because I heard an E girl and Rupaul, LeChoke and Boshy like coming again together with you in and out of the boat, since they got some Heat behind their moves now, but I know you will let the team go West first on you then especially LeChoke can go down South on you.

  • JTaylor21

Of course laker/kobetards are the ones making up names. kobe’s seed what the hell does 81 have to do with playing D. that whats kobe’s lovers always go to when talking bout him. 81 this 81 that, yall starting to sound like rudy Giuliani in the presidential race; 9/11 this 9/11 that.

  • JTaylor21

@Seed, I’m still waiting for the joke. Might have to go back to the drawing board with that crap.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

The word is “swept.” Just for future reference.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Let’s get real obiviously Kobe is a great scorer, nobody said otherwise. He is also a good defender, but nowhere near great or meriting 8th first team All-Defensive. This part of his game has been overrated for years. He was never been a lock down defender, remember how RIP Hamilton and Billups ran rings around him for example. Wing defenders (no PG, PF and C’s)better than or at same level as Kobe in the NBA at the moment (and in most cases for the last couple of years): Battier, Artest, Ariza, Pierce, LeBron, Wade, Thabo Sefolosa, Udoka, Tony Allen, M. Barnes, Batum, Ronnie Brewer, Caron Butler, Jeff Green, Josh Howard, Kirk Hinrich, Jrue Holiday, Stephen Jackson, Kirilenko, Dahntay Jones, Gerald Wallace, Marion, Anthony Parker, Pietrus, Delonte West, Posey, T. Prince, Brandon Roy, and even the bearded joke Deshawn. Kobe-fans before you go overboard in stone-pelting; I’am NOT saying these players are Kobe’s equals as players, but as defenders they are all his equals and for the most part better.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Heck I’m pretty sure Bruce Bowen could come out of retirement and play better D than Kobe right now. Overrated… way way overrated… that part of his game.

  • truthteller

lz, so you think Lebron is a better defender than Kobe? Why because he blocks shots from behind? Are you kidding me?!

  • truthteller

Lebron is not his equal either defensively and niether is Wade! com’on man, quit the nonsense!!!!

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

Lebron is a way better defender than Kobe. At the same age? Kobe was better. Right now? Lebron’s better.
If you can’t see this, yer blind. “Selectively” defending is still a flaw on defense. Just cause Kobe CAN exert himself more on D and be a better defender, we shouldn’t give him a pass.

  • JTaylor21

Yes truthteller, lz is saying that, not just because he blocks shots from behind. Did you see what PP did against the cavs in the playoffs, Nothing. Bron put the lock on him like no one has before, I can’t remember kobe ever doing that. Didn’t PP win finals MVP being guarded by Kobe and Ariza. Riddle me that.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

@ truthteller. LeBron is a far better defender than Kobe; more steals, more blocks, more rebounds, more physical, quicker, stronger, faster, fouls less, jumps higher, bigger wingspan, able to guard more positions, and have actually locked a top player down in recent times (Paul Pierce is the example). What have Kobe done on D lately; stood around flatfooted on the free throw line, watching Rajon Rondo undisturbed run Boston’s offense. Please do tell me what makes Kobe a better defender?

  • truthteller

LZ: Unbelievable! You’re just another lebron fan and to you he can do no wrong. I see where this is going. You keep saying he locked down Paul Pierce! Paul Pierce wasn’t his best all playoffs! What did he do against Orlando? What did he do against the Lakers? Lebron never locked Lebron down on defense! get the hell outta here! And if you want to bring up the year the celtics beat the Lakers when PP won MVP then make sure you bring up when he dropped 39 against the Cavs in game 7! Who was guarding him then?

  • total scrotal implosion

Mr beans first team defense slections are a fuking joke. Lebron too, but to a lesser extent. How does the guy who get second place in dpoy(smoove) not make first team????? Crash was desrvedly first team, rondo by default. Shoulda been wade and smoove over bean and bron. Just like melo should have been at least co roy. The leagues been doing this for a few years now, over gassing certain players(bean) awards, so their career looks better

  • truthteller

For those of you who say Kobe doesn’t play defense or is overated please check these out (I know the haters will still talk but hey…)

I am new bloggin on here, you guys will prob never care or respond to any post of mine (specially cus I’m a girl lol) but just had to partake in the discussion. I’m not even gonna make predictions or get into useless heated discussions when the season is a long one and hasn’t even started. However, I must point out a couple of things: I hate the term homer! WTF… so if you’re a fan of your home team you can’t possibly ever have a valid point? I was a “homer” in ’06 cus I believed in my team– it was a thing of beauty to shut everyone up! Lakers have an undeniable stacked team and are the current NBA champions. I agree on that. Heat have a lot to prove. While this is true, anyone who can’t see the huge problems Miami can possibly pose for these Lakers doesn’t know the game of basketball. Just look at the problems Miami gave the Celtics in playoffs (2 games could have in 1 second ended differently and it would have been a tie series) and the Lakers in the reg season. This with a Miami team who had literally no one but WADE. Stopping Wade, Lebron, and Bosh is and will be a lot more difficult than anyone is willing to admit. Wade and Lebron can both break up double teams easily w/out help…now consider them together. Wade’s ability to slash coupled with Lebron’s strength will be ridiculously powerful. Am I saying that’s it, Heat won the whole thing? No… but are they in a great position? ABSOLUTELY.
