Eddie House, Heat Agree to 2 Years, $2.8M

Sorry Bulls fans, Eddie House makes another nice signing for the Heat. From Adrian Wojnarowski: “The Heat have reached an agreement with 32-year-old guard Eddie House on a two-year contract for $2.8 million, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday. The second year of the deal is a player option for $1.4 million. Miami beat out the Chicago Bulls to get House. With a history of clutch shooting that includes multiple big games with the Boston Celtics over the past three years, House will help support Miami’s starry core off the bench.”

i guess he’ll gravy train his way to another ring.

Weird. The site wants me to post as ‘JDubb’. Haven’t seen that screwup in awhile. Anyway, nice pickup by the Heat. I was hoping House would stay in NY, but he’ll get plenty of open shots in Miami.

Awww…..another good three-point shooter for the team with the shi*tiet bench in the league? How can this be? “Must be tampering!!!” “He’s been planning this sh*t for months!!!!” “What a cocks*cker!!!!!” “Take his ring back from the Celtics!!!!!!” “He was supposed to be a Laker!!!!” “No wait, He was supposed to be in Chicago!!!!!!” “Nah, fu*k that, he was supposed to be in Orlando!!!!!”Stern better do something about this!!!!!”

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Eddie Buckets will enjoy life hitting wide open jumpers. Mario Chalmers and Arroyo just lost any chance of being on the floor in crunch time.

I would love to have had him on my Bulls but I really can’t hate on him for going to the Heat. He’s not just blindly following Lebron and Dwyane or ring-chasing. The Heat were his first team so there’s some familiarity there.

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

He’s the new Damon Jones. Gravy train indeed…

  • Reedan

LOL … Ain’t gonna be no crunch time against the “Thermodynamics” this year!

  • Kid Dynamite

    @Eboy LOL, another “bad” signing.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

Eboy man, you need to chill.

  • http://www.shawnkemp.com brotherwithwisdom

I like this signing another good sign by the heat.

i hate house with a passion, and idk why

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

    James calling the kettle black!
Great signing, perfect crunch time point if Lebron/Wade dun wanna run it.
    Too bad about Williams though.

  • Overtime

Cosign James the Balla. you’re just fuelling the fire

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    It is my obvious intention.

  • Jake

Wow…terrible signing for that much money. They could have gotten someone a lot younger for less.

  • LD

House is gonna be bussin’ that a$$.

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

    Heat roster:
    PG- Chalmers, House, Arroyo
    SG- Wade, James Jones
    SF- James, Miller
    PF- Bosh, Haslem
C- Big Z, Joel Anthony, Magloire
    Alternates: Shavlik Randolph, Juwaon Howard
Wasn’t this supposed to be a team full of D-Leaguers and second round rookies?

  • SWIFTboy

As a Laker fan, this sucks! I still have nightmares of him and Posey dropping clutch buckets in 08 Finals.
PG might be split three ways during the regular season, but House will earn his paycheck (and then some) come playoffs.

  • The D Train

Like this pickup for Miami. Not as a Bulls fan, but I think having Fast Eddie on the trigger is a nice bailout option in the playoffs when teams are trying to figure out how to double Wade, Lebron and Bosh. Funny how we all thought that it’d be The Three Who Shall Not Be Named and a bunch of scrubs. Really, you gotta like Haslem, House and Miller as role players. Throw in the tall stiffs and this is looking to be a freakin’ crazy outstanding job by Riles and his evil henchman Wade. Rock that villain cape proudly, E, your boys are the summertime champions by far. Can’t wait to have to play those fu(kers on 2K or Elite, and really can’t wait to watch the Bulls try to keep up with them on WGN.

  • The D Train

    Sadly cosign Juks at 1:18.

Team isn’t great inside, but neither are most teams in the East or West.
What they have is the best triumvirate in the league, and some knockdown shooter around them.
Hell, the Heat are better inside than the Cavs have been for two years, and the Cavs won 60+ games as so many people are found of reminding everybody.

  • http://www.springbored.net letsmotor

this is a phenomenal pickup for the heat. he’s exactly what they need: a point guard who’s not looking to handle the ball but can catch and shoot like nobody’s business. and @SWIFTboy: as a Celtics fan, hearing you say that gives me so much satisfaction, even if you guys got the most recent laugh.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

WTF Hurricane…that crap makes no sense. I think Bynum & Odom are the X-factors when these teams meet. If Bynum brings his A game and Odom actually shows up and contributes then the Lakers win but if not then…welp

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

If you’re depending on Odom, you’re asking to lose. Lol.

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

    Hurricane: lemme help
    Fisher = Chalmers
    Bryant = Wade
    Artest Bosh
    Bynum > Ilgaskas
    Blake = House
    Brown > Jones
    Barnes Haslem
    Ratliff < Anthony
I guess, -in my mind-, that still puts the Lakers at an advantage, but only slightly and on the bench. It’ll really come down to health and chemistry in the end. One can’t really claim the Lakers are that much more talented anymore.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Constantly injured and constantly inconsistent. That is the X-Factor to this years Finals.

they still have no1 2 guard rondo

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

If the lakers become that tough defensive team similar to 08 Celtics plus their great offense then I don’t even think Miami stands a chance. Miami has not one shut down defender on their team inside or out. Rebounding and defense will determine the winner.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

1-12 Lakers are still slightly better than Miami.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

Barnes and Miller are equal. Barnes good on D, good 3pt shooter. Miller great 3 pt shooter, sucks on D.

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

Kap: Miller is an underrated passer and a good defender. He’s way better than Miller. Look at the money they’ve made. Look at their stats. As J Dizzle said, c’mon now!!!

  • http://Badnewzb8ller Badnewzballer

    James Jones > ?

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

This is bigger than USSR vs. USA…

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    On Blake and House.
Blake is a better point guard, but he’s nowhere near House’s league as a clutch shooter and scorer.
I mean, seriously, I saw Eddie House actually turn games around for the Celtics and Knicks. Dude has NO fear when it comes to shooting, and his range is ridiculous.
Blake great at running a team, and has really improved his jumper a lot since college. But, he tends to get flustered in big moments, from what I saw in Portland and in Denver, while House is ice water. Blake is a better ball handler, but I’ve seen have problems with intense pressure just like House.
Neither of them is good on defense.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Chalmers = Fisher
    sorry.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Actually, that’s wrong.
    Fisher > Chalmers.
Yes, Chalmers can defend and hit shots, but we cannot underestimate the clutchness that is Fisher.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

All of these greater than/lesser than comparisons are horribly executed.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

    Eboy
Well this one is not horribly executed:

    Lakers > Heat

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I think that the gap between Wade/Bosh compared to Gasol/Kobe is fairly miniscule, if not non-existent. And, after you consider those two, you have to then contemplate Lebron. That’s the elephant in the room. Even if Kobe and Pau cancel out Bosh and Wade, who the hell cancels out Lebron.
And if say Artest, you need to be smacked. Can you imagine all the energy Kobe has to know expend since he can’t rest on defense? It will be even more crucial that he does not go into “jack-a-shot” mode.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

Bynum/Odom/Fisher/defense cancel out Lebron. Wade/Bosh is outmatched to Gasol/Kobe bc of LA frontline. I do think that Artest/Barnes/ Odom are gonna make it slightly tough for Queen James.

Wade is just as good as kobe expect he’s younger, more athletic, and too quick for the old pervert. Artest can’t stay with bron even with road runner’s legs and people are underestimating what bosh brings to the table. People are going to be so worried about stopping bron/wade that bosh becomes like diabetes- the SILENT KILLER.

  • JTaylor21

AllenP is right, kobe is not going to be able to relax and claim that he’s guarding point guards who can’t shoot ala Rondo. He will now be guarding a player who’s constantly attacking and has a very underrated midrange game. When the lakers are getting their sh*t pushed in by the heat, kobe will resort to what he does best- SHOT JACKING.

Man, the X-factor in all of this is Chalmers, if he chokes, he will force D-Wade or House to be point guards. And we all saw when D-Wade was point guard in Miami, he had like 5 turnovers a game, and House can’t even dribble two steps.

  • Sparker

bosh can hit that elbow jumper, that’s for sure. and he’s going to be wide open. but no way he’s the dude i’m worried about lining up against miami.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Kap
You can’t dedicate Bynum/fisher/Artest to Lebron. They still have other players to account for on the court, particularly if Fast Eddie in the game. I watched dude for the Celtics and the Knicks, that is one cat you do not want to give good clean looks to. He gets hot way too fast man.
Don’t forget about Mike Miller and Haslem either.
Honestly, the Heat have a fairly good bench for the NBA. Yeah, they are small, but given their top three, they have a good set of shooters and hustle players.
Seriously, when I look at Lebron’s bench and teammates in Cleveland, compared to his bench and teammates in Miami, I”m not seeing a huge drop off. And not he gets to play with WADE and BOSH.
Come on people. I mean, it’s all talk now, but you have to give Riley props for an exceptional job. those players are feeling very confident right now.

  • John

the x-factor is Chalmers, if he sucks even more than he already does, D-Wade or House has to be PG, and they can’t really run an offense. D-Wade had like 5 turnovers a game when he was PG

  • JTaylor21

@Sparker, that’s the point. People are going to be less focused on him. thereby giving him countless one on one opportunites. People forget that he was the best big man in the olympics not DHOW. I know that it’s against lesser comp, but dude is a better player than people are giving him credit for. It’s funny that the same people that now call him overrated, are the same people that where pleading for him to go to their team just a month ago. They know who I’m talking bout- fruity land fans aka GayLA

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

    Allenp:
Fisher and Chalmers = Blake and House.
    Really.
Chalmers and Blake bring the exact same thing…. greater presence during 3/4ths of the game.
Fisher and House bring the exact same thing…. ice cold clutchness and great leadership/toughness for 1/4th of the game.
I think both are a wash.
Actually, probably a better comparison would be…
    Blake ?? Chalmers
    Fisher ?? House
Since that matchup will probably happen far more often.
Also, these comparisons are solely based on a talent standpoint: the Heat will give less time to their bench cause of their superior starting lineup. Likewise, you may see a three man rotation at center for the Heat, where for the Lakers, if you see anyone but Bynum/Gasol switching from forward, there’s an issue.
    So our comparisons are flawed.
    It’s just gauging talent.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Good point Jukai on the four point guards

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Initially I was pissed by the Lebron decision, but I’m slowly starting to warm to it now. I’m excited to see what these cats can do with this team.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Agree that Blake and Chalmers is about a wash. But Fisher is better than House, they are about equals on O but Fish is a stud on D and always draws important charges. While House on D is about as usefull as Chris Mullin in a tanning-contest. A whole other issue though; LA sure has the size advantage but that could be seriously damaged by foul trouble and as both Bynum and Odom are prone to fouls, the size advantage could easily be negated. In a Finals series LeBron and Wade are going to draw multiple fouls on those two players as well as Kobe, Artest and Fisher. We already saw all of those players getting in foul trouble against Boston’s creaky old veterans, with Gasol the only one staying out of it. How do you guys feel it will be against the Heat’s young athletic studs, I on my part really think that the aforementioned Lakers players are going to be sitting a great deal (or be on the floor less aggressive) because of Wade and LeBron’s ability to get by their man and into the paint (all of this is off course based on that the Heat and LA meet up in the Finals, but that seems to be the consensus around here). Thoughts?

    LZ
chalmers is much better than Blake on defense, roughly Fisher’s equal if not better.
I think what Jukai was saying is that with those four guards is that whne you consider what all of them do well, it’s pretty much a wash.

  • truthteller

@ Eboy: What do have in store for us? Are you gonna kill yourself and do us all a favor?

  • chingy

Don’t forget the Heat will have to get out of the East first…Heat will have to get by two of Boston, Magic, and Bulls, no easy task.

Anyways, I can see Kobe on Chalmers and Fisher on Wade (with Kobe playing off on Chalmers to help). But 4th quarter lineup for Heat will be:

    PG: Bron
    SG: Wade
    SF: Miller
    PF: Bosh
    C : Z

or if they want to go smaller, replace Miller with House and move Bron to SF; tho he’ll prolly still bring the ball up the floor

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Allenp I completely agree about Chalmers’ D – he’s easily on of the best defensive PG’s in the L. But at the same time Blake does pretty much everything else better. Overall those two are a wash in my book. I still think that Fisher’s clutchness, D, and savy championship play edges House, hence LA has a slight upper hand on the PG position. Little will it matter however as I’ll bet my money that Heat’s close-out lineup against a team as long as the Lakers will be: LeBron, Wade, Miller, Bosh and Haslem/other big. With Wade and Lebron sharing the ballhandling/playmaking, since neither of the Lakers’ PG’s are fast these players match up easily on D and a line-up like this will go a good way in dimishing LA’s size/skill advantage on the PF and C positions.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Btw, Eboy I normally enjoy your contributions to this comment section. But please stop with the ‘pictures’, the first truck was okay, but come on how old are you again? Eboy is funny. Why is everyone assuming la will get out the west so easily? If u just look at okc, la will have problems, let alone the others

  • scott lawson

Boston was kicking the tires on him, but they already gave up on Eddie when they traded him for Nate last season. They resigned Nate… so they don’t really need House anymore.

i guess ill follow bosh nd support miami cuz i gotta cheer for at least 1 playoff team in the east. i think chalmers is actually very good. he was clutch in college, so i think he is just putting it all together. sophmore slumps happen to many good players. having the loose environment of being around lebron will do wonders for him. the pranks are gonna b out of this world when the season tips. i think they are still gonna have a tough time gettin rebounds with the 2 headed monster inside but we will see hopefully on opening night lol

Eboy, you are going crazy man. What percentage of each day are you posting on SLAM? Good pick up for MIA. A lot of us in Boston miss Eddie. I wanted him to come back here. Eddie really thrived on those great C’s teams and I think he’ll fit well on this MIA team as he’ll probably rarely have to take a contested shot. He should also draw some of the hate away from the big 2 3/4 which will be nice for them.

  • T-Money

How is Miller, Haslem, Z and House a weak bench? They have 4 guys off the bench that can be trusted and have experience in crunch time. How many teams can say that? / People focus too much on positions as if there 5 games of 1vs1 happening on the court. Basketball is way more fluid and usually talent prevails regardless of where it is on the court. Miami’s top 5 (Bron, Wade, Bosh, Miller, Haslem) is more talented than LA’s top 5 (Kobe, Pau, Odom, Bynum, Artest). / If we’re basing assumptions on last year, Artest and Barnes making it tough for Bron basically means 30-35 pts with 7-8 assts. He played vs Orl and LAL like there was nobody guarding him.

Its gonna be real ugly for the league this year somethin tells me the heat will break the record for most games on national tv by a long shot wade will ave 27 5 5 labron will ave 24 9 9 bosh gonna ave 20 12 2 oh boy oh boy this team is like an 80′s team loaded

The Heat just keep stacking….if they’re healthy in the playoffs they’ll stomp the Lakers.

  • http://nba.com Reflex

T-Money, you make some good points but similarly with that line up (Bron, Wade, Bosh, Miller, Haslem), The Heat have nothing to negate the 7ft pairing of Bynum & Gasol, that is to say, rebounds galore to the Lakes. As talented as the Heat might be, rebounding wins games, that particular line up gets eaten by the Lakers’ 5, imo.

  • JTaylor21

@Chingy, you need to disappear like your namesake. How can you body up on somebody (DFish) when you can’t stay in front of them (DWade). You laker fans are getting desperate with your team chances in guarding Trio5. Think of them as the 80s lakers expect they are faster, more athletic and without AIDS. The laker bigs will not be able to keep up with bosh and kobe and artest are too slow to stay with wade/bron. Throw in a good supporting cast around all that and what do you get; laker/kobe groupies getting their pantyhoses in a bunch.

@ T-Money: You of all people should know that post-injury Z is very overrated. He’s a rhythm player who struggles when he comes off the bench and besides having length is a pylon on defense against atheltic PF/C’s. So unless the Heat want a 6-3-2 statline, they’d start him with limited minutes.

    Lebron < Kobe
    Eboy = heat male groupie

  • Shem

    Fisher = Chalmers
    Kobe = Wade
    Artest < LeBron
    Gasol Ilgauskas
    Odom > Haslem
    Brown House
    Barnes > Jones
I think that it’s pretty even. Bosh is a better PF than Pau Gasol. I don’t care what anyone says I watched almost all his games the last 2 years and he’s going 24 and 10 consistently. People might say well he’s on a bad team, well Pau Gasol wasn’t getting 24 and 10 when he was on a bad team. I believe Kobe and Wade cancel each other out, but Kobe has a history of back, finger and knee problems and the chances of that history not coming back to haunt him is pretty slim. He won’t play all 82 next year. Odom and Bynum are really what this series comes down to (if the series happens, I’m not giving this unproven Heat team anything). Gasol and Bosh are pretty even (though Bosh slightly wins), LeBron beats Artest but Artest plays good D and Kobe and Wade cancel each other out. The Heat have a very impressive bench from what I thought they would get, but Bynum and Odom being the 3rd and 4th option on a team really shows how deep this Laker team is. These guys can be 2nd options on a playoff team. If Bynum can stay healthy and Odom can look like he actually cares (yes I did just say that) then the Lakers will win. I don’t see any team in the West challenging LA but the Thunder. The Heat have the Celtics and Magic.

Lakers are the better overall team and defense wins game. Miami B Team has no inside pressence on defense, Bosh can’t play defense, if he could the Raptors would have won a first round series with him as the main defensive pressence. Lebron is overrated defensively, just because ESPN, puts Lebron blocks in the top 10 highlights and they pull articles on Lebron does not mean he can play defense. Also Wade plays the passing lanes and gambles on defense, thats why his steal count is always high like AI used to get. Artest is in shape now, Barnes will help to. Kobe can guard Dwade, if you have watched their matchups in the past, Wade uses picks to get by Kobe and Gasol plays better defense in the middle, because he knows how to rotate correctly. I will take the Lakers over the Heat, but I feel Orlando and Celtics are better than the Heat in the east. I believe Orlando will have the best record in the east and if Shaq goes to ATL. Miami will have another team to ruffle their feathers. LAKERS WILL THREE PEAT!!! BOOK IT!!!!

I guess when middle school students are in discussions, it’s hard to differentiate.

  • JTaylor21

Kobe’s seed, your estranged lover is the most overrated defender in league history. I don’t know how dude has more 1st team defense than Scottie Pippen and is closing in on MJs 9. Both guys are twice the defender kobe could ever dream of being. No so called great defender has ever been light up as badly as the mamba has when Agent Zero a 6-3 guard went all in his a** for 60 freaking points. Pip and MJ would never let that happen even if they had no legs and eyes.

  • truthteller

@Eboy, how are Lakers fans scared of the Heat? Last time I checked, the Lakers were the defending champs! The Heat and every other team in the NBA boosted up their roster so that they could contend with who? Right, that’s what I thought. So, if anyone’s scared, it’s definately not the Lakers!

Yeah how come kobe never guards PP or Ray but is always resting/hiding claiming his guarding rondo. MJ never rested or was hidden on a weak offensive player, never. ATL will be better with Shaq, yes he is over the hill, but ATL problem is playing with undersized players in the center postion. ATL did get sweeped by Cleveland, but CLEVELAND had the best record in the league, People forget the team had the best record in the league two years straight. Until the LeChoke series.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

    JTaylor21
Arenas did get 60 points, but all were not on Kobe, that year Kobe played with scrubs, heck Kobe scored 81 on a TEAM. Kobe can play defense, he shuts down people when he wants to, please check the old tapes of Kobe, Now Kobe is not the defender he was, but during the Olympic team, EVERYONE credited him with bringing defense to the team, even the HEAT team now. Go watch the old interviews from the Olympic team, LeGONE came back playind defense better. Wade is a good defender, but he gambles too much.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

    Ebay
The boat you made with me in it, I know you know about being held captive, because I heard an E girl and Rupaul, LeChoke and Boshy like coming again together with you in and out of the boat, since they got some Heat behind their moves now, but I know you will let the team go West first on you then especially LeChoke can go down South on you.

  • JTaylor21

Of course laker/kobetards are the ones making up names. kobe’s seed what the hell does 81 have to do with playing D. that whats kobe’s lovers always go to when talking bout him. 81 this 81 that, yall starting to sound like rudy Giuliani in the presidential race; 9/11 this 9/11 that.

  • JTaylor21

@Seed, I’m still waiting for the joke. Might have to go back to the drawing board with that crap.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

The word is “swept.” Just for future reference.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Let’s get real obiviously Kobe is a great scorer, nobody said otherwise. He is also a good defender, but nowhere near great or meriting 8th first team All-Defensive. This part of his game has been overrated for years. He was never been a lock down defender, remember how RIP Hamilton and Billups ran rings around him for example. Wing defenders (no PG, PF and C’s)better than or at same level as Kobe in the NBA at the moment (and in most cases for the last couple of years): Battier, Artest, Ariza, Pierce, LeBron, Wade, Thabo Sefolosa, Udoka, Tony Allen, M. Barnes, Batum, Ronnie Brewer, Caron Butler, Jeff Green, Josh Howard, Kirk Hinrich, Jrue Holiday, Stephen Jackson, Kirilenko, Dahntay Jones, Gerald Wallace, Marion, Anthony Parker, Pietrus, Delonte West, Posey, T. Prince, Brandon Roy, and even the bearded joke Deshawn. Kobe-fans before you go overboard in stone-pelting; I’am NOT saying these players are Kobe’s equals as players, but as defenders they are all his equals and for the most part better.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Heck I’m pretty sure Bruce Bowen could come out of retirement and play better D than Kobe right now. Overrated… way way overrated… that part of his game.

  • truthteller

lz, so you think Lebron is a better defender than Kobe? Why because he blocks shots from behind? Are you kidding me?!

  • truthteller

Lebron is not his equal either defensively and niether is Wade! com’on man, quit the nonsense!!!!

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

Lebron is a way better defender than Kobe. At the same age? Kobe was better. Right now? Lebron’s better.
If you can’t see this, yer blind. “Selectively” defending is still a flaw on defense. Just cause Kobe CAN exert himself more on D and be a better defender, we shouldn’t give him a pass.

  • JTaylor21

Yes truthteller, lz is saying that, not just because he blocks shots from behind. Did you see what PP did against the cavs in the playoffs, Nothing. Bron put the lock on him like no one has before, I can’t remember kobe ever doing that. Didn’t PP win finals MVP being guarded by Kobe and Ariza. Riddle me that.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

@ truthteller. LeBron is a far better defender than Kobe; more steals, more blocks, more rebounds, more physical, quicker, stronger, faster, fouls less, jumps higher, bigger wingspan, able to guard more positions, and have actually locked a top player down in recent times (Paul Pierce is the example). What have Kobe done on D lately; stood around flatfooted on the free throw line, watching Rajon Rondo undisturbed run Boston’s offense. Please do tell me what makes Kobe a better defender?

  • truthteller

LZ: Unbelievable! You’re just another lebron fan and to you he can do no wrong. I see where this is going. You keep saying he locked down Paul Pierce! Paul Pierce wasn’t his best all playoffs! What did he do against Orlando? What did he do against the Lakers? Lebron never locked Lebron down on defense! get the hell outta here! And if you want to bring up the year the celtics beat the Lakers when PP won MVP then make sure you bring up when he dropped 39 against the Cavs in game 7! Who was guarding him then?

  • total scrotal implosion

Mr beans first team defense slections are a fuking joke. Lebron too, but to a lesser extent. How does the guy who get second place in dpoy(smoove) not make first team????? Crash was desrvedly first team, rondo by default. Shoulda been wade and smoove over bean and bron. Just like melo should have been at least co roy. I am new bloggin on here, you guys will prob never care or respond to any post of mine (specially cus I’m a girl lol) but just had to partake in the discussion. I’m not even gonna make predictions or get into useless heated discussions when the season is a long one and hasn’t even started. However, I must point out a couple of things: I hate the term homer! WTF… so if you’re a fan of your home team you can’t possibly ever have a valid point? I was a “homer” in ’06 cus I believed in my team– it was a thing of beauty to shut everyone up! Lakers have an undeniable stacked team and are the current NBA champions. I agree on that. Heat have a lot to prove. While this is true, anyone who can’t see the huge problems Miami can possibly pose for these Lakers doesn’t know the game of basketball. Just look at the problems Miami gave the Celtics in playoffs (2 games could have in 1 second ended differently and it would have been a tie series) and the Lakers in the reg season. This with a Miami team who had literally no one but WADE. Stopping Wade, Lebron, and Bosh is and will be a lot more difficult than anyone is willing to admit. Wade and Lebron can both break up double teams easily w/out help…now consider them together. Wade’s ability to slash coupled with Lebron’s strength will be ridiculously powerful. Am I saying that’s it, Heat won the whole thing? No… but are they in a great position? ABSOLUTELY.
