Eddie House, Heat Agree to 2 Years, $2.8M

Sorry Bulls fans, Eddie House makes another nice signing for the Heat. From Adrian Wojnarowski: “The Heat have reached an agreement with 32-year-old guard Eddie House on a two-year contract for $2.8 million, his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday. The second year of the deal is a player option for $1.4 million. Miami beat out the Chicago Bulls to get House. With a history of clutch shooting that includes multiple big games with the Boston Celtics over the past three years, House will help support Miami’s starry core off the bench.”

Hey Eboy…he was supposed to come back to Boston!!!! lol. Man, the rich keep getting richer. We better get our act together before Miami & LA get everyone out there…what is Danny waiting for?

    Shaq.

Allenp I completely agree about Chalmers’ D – he’s easily on of the best defensive PG’s in the L. But at the same time Blake does pretty much everything else better. Overall those two are a wash in my book. I still think that Fisher’s clutchness, D, and savy championship play edges House, hence LA has a slight upper hand on the PG position. Little will it matter however as I’ll bet my money that Heat’s close-out lineup against a team as long as the Lakers will be: LeBron, Wade, Miller, Bosh and Haslem/other big. With Wade and Lebron sharing the ballhandling/playmaking, since neither of the Lakers’ PG’s are fast these players match up easily on D and a line-up like this will go a good way in dimishing LA’s size/skill advantage on the PF and C positions.

Btw, Eboy I normally enjoy your contributions to this comment section. But please stop with the ‘pictures’, the first truck was okay, but come on how old are you again? And truthteller just shut your trap, Eboy was a Heat fan back when they had John Crotty running the point, so just stop with this bandwagon nonsense.

  • bash

Oh, this is big. I don’t think anyone else on the Heat roster has experience getting their headband slapped off their head in the middle of a game. This is exactly what will put them over the top. Looks like that roster is really starting to fill up. LOL!

  • total scrotal implosion

Eboy is funny. Why is everyone assuming la will get out the west so easily? Okc was one play away from a game 7 and they improved, spurs are still here and improved( I aint dead yet motherfu(ker!!!). Denver is a force. Portland too if healthy. Utah improved. If u just look at okc, la will have problems, let alone the others

  • scott lawson

Boston was kicking the tires on him, but they already gave up on Eddie when they traded him for Nate last season. They resigned Nate… so they don’t really need House anymore.

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

The Lakers only roadbump getting out of the West will be OKC, and they still dont have the big men to match the Lakers, i havent been following, did they get any other bigs in the offseason?

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

If LA fails to make the Finals it would be a huge disappointment. They are clearly the best team in the West.

  • truthteller

@Lz: Wow, he must have been the most quiet fan I’ve ever known! Cause he rarely brought that up in any of his posts! I had a homeboy who loved basketball but never mentioned his team until KG and Ray Allen showed up and then all of a sudden, the whole world knew he was a Celtics fan!!! Get my point? And how fdo you know anyway? You must be one of his cheerleaders, right? Anyway this explains what I’ve been saying then all along! he was just hating on the Lakers ’cause the Lakers were so good and now his “team” is all stacked up and now the world has to know that he’s a heat “fan” What a loser!

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Nah, Eboy always rode with the Heat, that’s just patently false. He’s been riding with them since I’ve been coming to the blog.
Hell, his screen name used to be White Hot Eboy, in honor of that lame Heat gimmick. I’m not a huge fan of some of his antics, but he ain’t on the bandwagon.

  • rich

i guess ill follow bosh nd support miami cuz i gotta cheer for at least 1 playoff team in the east. i think chalmers is actually very good. he was clutch in college, so i think he is just putting it all together. sophmore slumps happen to many good players. having the loose environment of being around lebron will do wonders for him. the pranks are gonna b out of this world when the season tips. i think they are still gonna have a tough time gettin rebounds with the 2 headed monster inside but we will see hopefully on opening night lol

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

truthteller; What Allenp said. Aint no cheerleader, just telling it as I see it. Most of the cheerleaders around these parts are Kobe/LA-disciples, so tighten that thong get your pom-poms out and start jumping with the rest of the blondes.

  • vtrobot

Eboy, you are going crazy man. What percentage of each day are you posting on SLAM? Good pick up for MIA. A lot of us in Boston miss Eddie. I wanted him to come back here. Eddie really thrived on those great C’s teams and I think he’ll fit well on this MIA team as he’ll probably rarely have to take a contested shot. He should also draw some of the hate away from the big 2 3/4 which will be nice for them.

  • T-Money

How is Miller, Haslem, Z and House a weak bench? They have 4 guys off the bench that can be trusted and have experience in crunch time. How many teams can say that? / People focus too much on positions as if there 5 games of 1vs1 happening on the court. Basketball is way more fluid and usually talent prevails regardless of where it is on the court. Miami’s top 5 (Bron, Wade, Bosh, Miller, Haslem) is more talented than LA’s top 5 (Kobe, Pau, Odom, Bynum, Artest). / If we’re basing assumptions on last year, Artest and Barnes making it tough for Bron basically means 30-35 pts with 7-8 assts. He played vs Orl and LAL like there was nobody guarding him.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

To be fair, I stole White Hot Eboy from Lang, but who’s counting? Well, except truthteller,

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

Saying Eboy is a ‘bandwagon’ fan is, well, batsh%t insane. He as big of a fan of the Heat as I am the Suns, as TAD is the Pistons, as BostonBaller is of Boston! Pure crazy.

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

this has been truly entertaining comment sections. eboy truly puts the “boy” back in his name. the trucking sh!t is ridiculous. i ain’t mad atcha, but it’d be nice if the more sane version of you post more often than the other one.

  • byebye

Its gonna be real ugly for the league this year somethin tells me the heat will break the record for most games on national tv by a long shot wade will ave 27 5 5 labron will ave 24 9 9 bosh gonna ave 20 12 2 oh boy oh boy this team is like an 80′s team loaded

  • http://HUFSF.COM Waylonakolipse

The Heat just keep stacking….if they’re healthy in the playoffs they’ll stomp the Lakers.

  • http://nba.com Reflex

T-Money, you make some good points but similarly with that line up (Bron, Wade, Bosh, Miller, Haslem), The Heat have nothing to negate the 7ft pairing of Bynum & Gasol, that is to say, rebounds galore to the Lakes. As talented as the Heat might be, rebounding wins games, that particular line up gets eaten by the Lakers’ 5, imo.

  • JTaylor21

@Chingy, you need to disappear like your namesake. How can you body up on somebody (DFish) when you can’t stay in front of them (DWade). You laker fans are getting desperate with your team chances in guarding Trio5. Think of them as the 80s lakers expect they are faster, more athletic and without AIDS. The laker bigs will not be able to keep up with bosh and kobe and artest are too slow to stay with wade/bron. Throw in a good supporting cast around all that and what do you get; laker/kobe groupies getting their pantyhoses in a bunch.

  • total scrotal implosion

    Is it opening night yet?

  • irrelevantly relevant

all of u guys are crazy!!! i remember everyone talkin bout the championship before the season started for the last 2 years.. “book it” LAKERS vs CAVS 2009 finals….result=Laker vs Magics “book it” Lakers vs Cavs 2010 finals…result=Lakers vs Celtics…smh…miami looks good on paper but they haven’t even played a game yet so why are u fusing??? Miami arent going to the finals dis year, and if it wasn’t for a few bounces for the lakers the thunders would have knock them out… I wonder who u guys are gonna blame when neither of them are in the finals this year.. “BOOK IT”!!

  • Rusty

man eboy is getting creative in this b*tch haha, wow the heat are starting to look real motherfuking scary. They might actually get 70+ if they can work out the chemistry between the big 3 damn.

  • http://lastknickstanding.blogspot.com Bryan

Eboy is the least “bandwagon” fan ever.

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

    How Wade recruited Eddie:
    Wade: “This is my House!”
    House’s agent: “Alright, fine!”

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

@ T-Money: You of all people should know that post-injury Z is very overrated. He’s a rhythm player who struggles when he comes off the bench and besides having length is a pylon on defense against atheltic PF/C’s. So unless the Heat want a 6-3-2 statline, they’d start him with limited minutes.

  • byebye

Labron and dwayne wade will have just as a produtive year because they won’t have to do everything do u kno how. Hard it is to pass to someone. Who can’t catch the ball or can’t finish at the rim or make open shots when they r open that is demoralizinging labron. Had to leave I feel for clev but it ain’t the end of the world charles barkley acts like he didn’t go to phoe and play on kjs team

    Lebron < Kobe
    Eboy = heat male groupie

  • Shem

    Fisher = Chalmers
    Kobe = Wade
    Artest < LeBron
    Gasol Ilgauskas
    Odom > Haslem
    Brown House
    Barnes > Jones
I think that it’s pretty even. Bosh is a better PF than Pau Gasol. I don’t care what anyone says I watched almost all his games the last 2 years and he’s going 24 and 10 consistently. People might say well he’s on a bad team, well Pau Gasol wasn’t getting 24 and 10 when he was on a bad team. I believe Kobe and Wade cancel each other out, but Kobe has a history of back, finger and knee problems and the chances of that history not coming back to haunt him is pretty slim. He won’t play all 82 next year. Odom and Bynum are really what this series comes down to (if the series happens, I’m not giving this unproven Heat team anything). Gasol and Bosh are pretty even (though Bosh slightly wins), LeBron beats Artest but Artest plays good D and Kobe and Wade cancel each other out. The Heat have a very impressive bench from what I thought they would get, but Bynum and Odom being the 3rd and 4th option on a team really shows how deep this Laker team is. These guys can be 2nd options on a playoff team. If Bynum can stay healthy and Odom can look like he actually cares (yes I did just say that) then the Lakers will win. I don’t see any team in the West challenging LA but the Thunder. The Heat have the Celtics and Magic.

  • Shem

    Gasol Ilgauskas
    Brown > House

I don’t know what happened to my previous comment

Lakers are the better overall team and defense wins game. Miami B Team has no inside pressence on defense, Bosh can’t play defense, if he could the Raptors would have won a first round series with him as the main defensive pressence. Lebron is overrated defensively, just because ESPN, puts Lebron blocks in the top 10 highlights and they pull articles on Lebron does not mean he can play defense. Also Wade plays the passing lanes and gambles on defense, thats why his steal count is always high like AI used to get. Artest is in shape now, Barnes will help to. Kobe can guard Dwade, if you have watched their matchups in the past, Wade uses picks to get by Kobe and Gasol plays better defense in the middle, because he knows how to rotate correctly. I will take the Lakers over the Heat, but I feel Orlando and Celtics are better than the Heat in the east. I believe Orlando will have the best record in the east and if Shaq goes to ATL. Miami will have another team to ruffle their feathers. LAKERS WILL THREE PEAT!!! BOOK IT!!!!

You know, it’s remarkable that no one has correlated that I was being terribly obnoxious yesterday to be in direct relation to guys like the Seed and the rest of the Laker Losers who are so scared of the Heat that all they do is talk about them. I guess when middle school students are in discussions, it’s hard to differentiate.

  • JTaylor21

Kobe’s seed, your estranged lover is the most overrated defender in league history. I don’t know how dude has more 1st team defense than Scottie Pippen and is closing in on MJs 9. Both guys are twice the defender kobe could ever dream of being. No so called great defender has ever been light up as badly as the mamba has when Agent Zero a 6-3 guard went all in his a** for 60 freaking points. Pip and MJ would never let that happen even if they had no legs and eyes.

  • truthteller

@Eboy, how are Lakers fans scared of the Heat? Last time I checked, the Lakers were the defending champs! The Heat and every other team in the NBA boosted up their roster so that they could contend with who? Right, that’s what I thought. So, if anyone’s scared, it’s definately not the Lakers!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Don’t you have to be in summer school right now, truthteller?

  • http://google c_cantrell

look im not huge kobe fan but kobe is a very good defender guys.. no not as good as mj or pip but still dude can lock down n play some d.. tho he does get lost in the passing lanes sometimes he is still one of the best guard defenders in the league.. his d is not as good as wades or even brons but he is for a top 10 defender in the L

  • truthteller

@Eboy: Alright Eboy, I guess JTaylor and your biggest cheerleader, LZ convinced me that you’ve always been a heat fan. I just never noticed that amongst all the hate you were spewing out! So, I guess you’re not a bandwagon fan like I claimed you were. We cool?
@LZ: As for you Liz, I’ve been a Kobe fan since ’96 when he first came into the league and have been riding with him ever since through everything (getting swept by Utah and the spurs to them winning 3 in a row to all the beef with him and shaq to the rape charge to the team missing the playoffs the year shaq left to the lakers getting beat by phonenix two years in a row in the first round to him wanting out of LA to them losing badly to the cletic until now. And of course through all the never ending hate)so,you can go ahead and pull Eboy’s rod outta your mouth and get off your knees.
