Hornets Get Head

…Luther Head, that is: “The New Orleans Hornets have reached an agreement on a two-year contract with veteran guard Luther Head. The Hornets are not announcing the deal yet because Head still must pass his physical, but Head’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told The Associated Press on Saturday that the deal paying Head about $2.5 million over two years is done. Bartelstein says the second year of the contract is a player’s option, and that the Hornets pursued Head because they wanted a veteran who can play both guard spots.”

    lol @ the headline but in all serious who remembers how raw that 05 Illinois squad with Dee Brown, Deron Williams, and Luther Head was. Always felt Head would prove to be a better NBA player than he’s turned out to be…still young. I remember that buttery jumper he had…I think he’s a good fit with the Hornets, who seem to be moving suspiciously quietly through this off-season….

    Agreed, Rick. I think Head can still improve though, he was nice for the Rockets and he was trapped in Indiana, but now he has a good opportunity to prove himself in New Orleans. I always thought Dee Brown would be really good in the NBA, people always talked about his size but barring injuries he could have been a long-time player in this league.

    @Teddy awwwwww man Dee Brown was my favorite. So much talent…its funny I thought more highly of both Dee and Luther than Deron at the time, funny how things work out some time.
