Jordan Farmar To The Nets

The Nets missed on LeBron and Co., but, hey, there’s always Jordan Farmer. ESPNews tweets: “ESPN’s Ric Bucher reports that Lakers free agent Jordan Farmar has agreed to a 3-year, $12 million deal w/ Nets”

why do they keep signing scrubs with such a good core?

  • kriz

they want wins asap. maybe they can sneak into the 8th spot

Not bad. I’ve always been high on Farmar since the UCLA days. Thought he wasn’t interested in playing bench. I can’t imagine him starting over Harris, and why start him at the 2 when there are a few several talented guard-forwards on the team already.

  • John Starks

Haha didnt this guy want to start?. From the bench to bech

The triangle is not a point guard system. He will be a good player off the bench on this team. He has two rings, time to bring that winning attitude to those losers. The nets will be much improved from last season. Terrence Williams for most improved player

Prokhorov really doing it big this summer.

It’s $4 million a year guys. I don’t think they plan on him being a starter. But I’m sure a few more minutes than he had in LA, and a little more opportunity to prove himself consistently.

hey i’m a little happy with all of these deals. we have like a Trailblazers type team right now. We can easily get the 7th or 8th spot in the Leastern Conference. The only threats are the Bucks, Bobcats and maybe Pacers. maybe the Knicks.

Bench player for Lakers?….bench player for Nets?

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

He wanted to start. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Fat chance of that happening with Harris in front of him and Avery as head coach. Once LA signed Blake the writing was on the wall for Farmar. I guess he’ll have to get used to riding a new bench.

I’m a laker fam and liked his game, but still makes bad decisions. This would give him more experience, from the nets side puts them in a good position to make trades next year .

Jordan was one of the most consistent players for the Lakers these past Finals, in a freer flowing offense he’d be able to show what he can do a lot better. I think this is a great pick up for the Nets, who continue to fill out there roster top to bottom with proven talent

  • olddirtyphil

i think him and the lakers should have stayed together

  • G I I

debate over : Jordan > LBJ

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

LDR4 trust me, Jordan is gonna get his share of PT, especially if Avery still can’t get Devin motivated. Jordan has talent, more athletic than given credit for, and imo a better shooter than he’s often given credit for. I’ve always wondered what type of point guard he would be in a normal half court offense- we’ll see now. I think he’ll prove to be a better ball-handler as well

proud to be a nets fan now…we’re getting deeeeep

Idiot. Now he won’t win another championship, but he’ll be “the man”!

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers

@Deepen, youre FAR AND AWAY from being anything close to the Blazers in talent…try lose almost all your good players to injury all season, start Juwan Howard at 56 years old and win 50 IN THE WEST. you got a great big in lopez and a project in Favours..HArris´s good too and Outlaw is a fine 6th man..TWill shows promisse but fighting for the 8th seed is not what Portland has done…we fight for homecourt IN THE WEST.

  • Celts Fan

@sporting-lisbon-blazers – ya, but you had to start somewhere and good moves like this is how you got there. Reading comprehension bro. Learn it.

  • Stillballin

Nets should have sign shannon brown instead of farmer..next point guard to leave l.a. Is fisher..

nets are making some pretty decent moves….

Nice pick-up for the Nets, dunno what that means for Harris… Anybody know Rafer Alston’s status??

  • pyeezy

who the hell is Jordan Farmer???

  • http://www.slamonline.com doyouwantmore

I can’t think of a better consolation prize.

  • Lakers 2010 champs

I’m OK with Farmar leaving. The Lakers need to re-sign D. Fish ASAP!

aannndd cue in the Seed bashing this guy for being such a no talent hack…

Actually I like Jordan Farmer, I felt if he stayed we wouldn’t have signed Blake. Farmer will get his opportunity to play in a more up tempo offense that will show that he can lead a team at times. I hope Farmer plays well and like coming off the bench better in Jersey. BOOK IT!!

    what a scrub.

  • manny

avery is a hard on pg’s. but he sure can get the best out of them. so good luck farmar.

  • BostonBaller

Farmar has the talent and athletic ability to sneak into a starters spot there but why would you give up being in contention for the chip and maybe a chance to start when DFish leaves?

  • lowly

I thought he wanted a starting spot??? ypou could have gonne to Indiana that neen a poing guard…. I don’t understand his thinking… now he is stuck behind Devin Harris .. from bench to bench…

  • http://www.slamonline.com jumpman3224

I thought he wanted to run his own team?!

  • JTaylor21

Who ever said leastern conf. is a baboon. The lakers have no formidable comp. in the west while in the east there’s bos, orl, mia, chi, atl, and mil. The west has always been overrated where they play no defense. reminds me of a certain black snake in LA, ring any bells.

  • Clay

Farmar isn’t even as good as his former UCLA teammate, Aaron Afflalo.
