Lakers Looking to Trade Sasha Vujacic?

LA expects to re-sign Shannon Brown within the next 1-2 weeks, but that may mean having to let Vujacic go. Reports the Plain Dealer: “Sources said Lakers are trying to trade Sasha Vujacic wfirst round pick to get his salary off books. They tried to do it for Delonte West. If they move Vujacic, and there’s a decent chance they will, Brown will likely be back in LA. Cavs stuff sounds like just a flirtation.”

    Where would they find minutes for Delonte. Kobe, Blake, Fish, Brown, Barnes….that’s alot of guard minutes.

    Isn’t Barnes more of a SF? And any GM that offers more than a candy bar and tube of Pringles for Sasha is crazy. So expect David Khan to trade Love, Beasley and the rights to Rubio for him.

    kobe and barnes can play the 3 as well tho, all 6 of those guys can actually guard multiple positions, all except blake whos just a pure pg, but fish can guard 1 or 2, delonte 1 or 2 blake 1 or 2 brown 1, 2 or 3 (i think hes athletic enough to guard a lot of 3s in the L, especially with gasol and bynum behind him), and kobe and barnes can guard 1, 2 or 3 … thos 6 plus artest would basically make up LAs 1-3, with lamar, gasol, bynum, caracter and ratliff … that is an absolutely amazing and deeeeeep team … 3 peat lookin really good right now

    … and dont forget, fishers getting old and his minutes will probably decline throughout the season but increase in playoffs and barnes would serve as artests back upwith blake backing up fisher, and probably playing most minutes … and brown backing up kobe, if they got delonte that would just be sick

    Since Vujacic contract is in its final year I think LA has a shot at getting Rudy Fernandez if they package some first round picks with Vujacic.

    It’s impossible to rotate 7 perimeter players, even 6 is tough.

    The Lakers already had 5 perimeter players with no real substitute for Kobe. This would actually help the Lakers if they got West by further reducing the strain at PG. Barnes is more of a defensive player at the 2-3. This would work, and work great.

    Adding West would be adding one too many headcases to that locker room. I would pay to hear a conversation between Ron Artest and Delonte West though.

    Delonte has a non guaranteed contract…meaning the Lakers would have released him as soon as acquiring him in order to save money.

    Whoever mentioned Fernandez can forget about it. He’s a good player and on paper he would be nice on this team, but you forget that the reason he wants out of Portland is lack of playing time. Where is he going to find that here in LA?

    I don’t know about getting rid of Vujacic. I’d like to keep brown and vujacic. But if we have to chose, this team, and the way it’s built needs sasha more. It’s a gamble, but we need a shooter. I understand he’s been cold, and far from the machine, but I’d take my chances on him to hit open shots over brown. We need shooters. With Kobe, Pau, and Bynum attracting double teams, you need shooters. If would have landed Miller or Krover, that would have been ideal, but now we have to keep sasha.

    Maybe trade Vujacic & a 1st Rd. Pick to the Blazers for Rudy Fernandez & a 2nd Rd. Pick, Rudy & Pau know eachother so??? & if we got Rudy, maybe let Shannon Brown leave, all of that would save us money

    He will be missed by true Laker fans, I remember him balling his butt off in the 08 Playoff run to the Finals and was one of the few who were not scared of the Celtics. Those clutch free throws to secure this Ring is very important, and to me should buy him another season, but Brown not being picked up by another team, is more of a priority over Sasha. I hope Sasha gets more time wherever he goes, then comes back to the Lakers for MLE. BOOK IT!!

    Why isn’t anybody talking about the Captain of BUMS & the ALL Cream Puff Team…Lamar Odom? He’s always been a bum & will always be a bum. He did nothing in the Finals…as usual, He’s a head case & the one player the whole team said Coach Trophy Jackson gets on more than ANYBODY! Lose the bum w/the machine if you have to and get CP3 or anybody that has a fraction of mental toughness that the BUM Odom has never had his whole career.

    The machine is rusty now & Odom needs to go to the NBA minimum for all them milllions being wasted on him. At least SaVu hustles & gets in your face. Coach Trophy loves his Moxie but good points by a lot of you folks…4real.

    You need to work on your reading skills. If you read cat, you see 08 Playoff Run and Sasha did play well in the 08 Finals. The Ray Allen play doesn’t matter, Lakers lost cat. You trying to be an antagonist on this site is getting old man. You need to try to write for yourself and stop trying to take people’s words and try to write something.     Why are people so in love with the self-proclaimed “Machine”. His defense is at best average and he always has that stupid “deer caught in the headlights” look when a foul is called on him. The man was signed to do one thing (shoot) and he can’t even do that with any consistency. The Lakers need to rid themselves of Vujacic ASAP!

    I rather get rid of Walton any day. He can pass but who cares. I would pick up some street ballers before him. People can ridicule Sasha all they want but he has game. He is a rhythm shooter and has to find it. He has to bring his “practice” game on to the court once again and Phil will start believing in him and so will we. Sasha are you listening? I think this is the year you prove your critics wrong just like Fisher did last year. Keep harassing on defense but watch the fouls. Have fun and stay on fire. You are going to help the Lakers when 3 in a row I just know it!
