Lakers Signing Matt Barnes?

Yahoo!‘s sources say Barnes is off to Hollywood if Cleveland doesn’t offer more money: “Unless Cleveland raises multi-year offer that starts around $3.5M, Matt Barnes will sign a 1-year, $1.7M deal with Lakers.”

he cares about winning… to a certain extent. he DID accept toronto’s offer. so essentially barnes opted for less money.

From the LA Times: “The Lakers took another step toward rounding out their bench, agreeing to terms with 37-year-old center Theo Ratliff on Thursday.

Ratliff, who signed a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum of $1.35 million, gives the Lakers an experienced defensive presence among their reserves.”

Still leaves LA with the 1.77 mil for Barnes if he wants to take a paycut for a ring.

And it’s done!!! From the LA Times: “Free-agent forward Matt Barnes decided to sign a two-year deal with the Lakers, choosing the chance at a championship over a more lucrative offer from Cleveland on the same day Theo Ratliff agreed to a one-year, $1.35-million contract with the Lakers, adding a veteran shot-blocking center to the second unit.”

Looks like Shannon Brown’s gonna be looking for a new job! Guess he shoulda tried harder at the Slam Dunk Contest!!!

If you’ve ever been to a laker game, they say “welcome YOUR Los Angeles Lakers!” so yeah, we can say we

While the Lakers will most likely not be in the Chris Paul chase, they have signed important role players to help them next season. I have written an article for my blog (pardonmybias.com) about the Lakers off season moves. Here is the direct link to my post: http://pardonmybias.com/the-rich-get-richer/

T-Money: Barnes has only earned 7 Million dollars? geez, i’d hate to try and live like that in this economy, and i agree, what a fool to turn down “less millions” to play for evey young ballers dream, an nba championship on a dynasty. BTW, how’d you get the name T-MONEY?

Aggressive on offense and thinks defensively! A in your face type of player. We’ll take him. Cali native! Only two spots left on Roster now! People need to understand the difference about keeping what you do on the court, on the court! It’s never personal, while you are playing. You do EVERYTHING in your power to win and break the spirit of the opposing team. When the other team is down you keep your foot on their neck till the clock says 00:00!

Juks: havent u said the exact same thing to the Laker cry babies/ Kobe fan boys, who have been straight hating on Bron since his decision? He took le$$ to win?…look man, of course 10 mil is better than 7. But i mean what i say, i’ve turned down a lot more $$$ in the past, heck right now im cleaning carpets to get by until the economy gets back going & to be honest with you, i plan on scrapping by for the next few years until i open up a Pizzaria. So ur prolly asking the wrong guy to re-read his post, for me nothing will be sweeter than serving up Napolitano pies, not my old career, or more cash, i’d take what im making now if it meant reaching that goal. So it doesnt seem far fetched that an NBA players ultimate goal would be to play for a championship.
