Lakers Signing Matt Barnes?

Yahoo!‘s sources say Barnes is off to Hollywood if Cleveland doesn’t offer more money: “Unless Cleveland raises multi-year offer that starts around $3.5M, Matt Barnes will sign a 1-year, $1.7M deal with Lakers.”

    @Eboy.. i thought the same.. assuming this is true.. maybe it’s all they can offer this year.. and gives him a chance to re-negotiate after the season.. or to find a bigger contract elsewhere.. and not locking him up for 3 years making peanuts (nba salary wise) but if i was barnes.. and no one is paying.. i might as well find a place to win..

    Really good signing for LA. He’ll be their 8th man first wing off the bench. In Miami, he would have been 9th or even 10th in the rotation (behind Z, Haslem, Miller and possibly Arroyo or Jones because of his shooting)

    Reemo it’s not ‘scary’ per se bu the thing is ifBarnes does sign, the Lakers’ bench (b2b Champs) just got a HUGE upgrade, Caracter & Ebanks have been standout players in the SLeague. Rolling out Barnes-Blake-Odom/Caracter-Ebanks/Walton-Vujacic is at least 4.7 times better than last year’s goon squad.I hope we can pull this off

    LD, your anti-Lebron analysis is amazing! If Cleveland doesnt want to see LeBron win a championship with another team, they should not increase their offer and let the Lakers have him. That is their best option.

    i actually like Shannon Brown more than Barnes.. will be sad to Brown gone from the Lakers. guess the premiere teams have strong wing players (Wade, LeBron, Carmelo, Pierce) that need to be defended.. whereas most of the top offensive PGs (Nash, Deron Williams, CP3) don’t play on the teams that can challenge LA
