Lamar Odom Squashes Beef With Matt Barnes

It seems like it was only yesterday that Lamar Odom was referring to Matt Barnes as “a monkey.” Now, only a few months later, the two are teammates and all is good between them. Dave McM reports: “Lamar Odom isn’t wasting any time clearing the air between him and Matt Barnes, who will be officially introduced as the Lakers latest free agent signing Tuesday. ‘He’s a teammate now,’ Odom said while in Las Vegas for USA Basketball training camp on Saturday. ‘That was an on-the-court issue and he has a Lakers jersey on now, so it will be no big thing.’… ‘Our organization does a great job of filling guys in, but Luke, he would be missed in the locker room and on the court,’ Odom said. ‘Maybe the addition of Matt Barnes helped out a little bit.’”

Truth is, is all good between LO and Matt? Doesn’t really sound like Lamar is hyped to play with Barnes.

    Well, that certainly was not a ringing endorsement. But seriously, if Brown comes back.. Matt Barnes may be their 9th or even 10th man (behing Blake, Odom, Brown, Sasha).

    How exactly should he sound ‘hyped’?
    “Oh, Matt Barnes is coming! We’re saved, guaranteed to win everything this year. Woooooooo, I got Wheaties!” Barnes will be just another role player who gets sporadic playing time and Odom will have to be friendly with him. It’s a no story.

    T-money, I seriously doubt that barnes plays behind brown, and you have got to be kidding me if he pays behind vujacic.

    In the very same quote that L.O. calls him a ‘monkey’ he also says it is an inside joke and that Barnes is a ‘cool dude’ as well as a bunch of other praise. My point being that there was never really any beef to squash.
