Marquis Daniels Re-Signs with Celtics

After considering New Orleans and a few other cities, Marquis Daniels AKA Q6 has decided to return to Boston next season. As the Boston Herald reports: “Marquis Daniels, hoping for a fresh restart with the Celtics after an injury-plagued 2009-10 season, just agreed to terms with his old team on his second straight one-year contract – this time a $2.5 million deal. The Celtics, under salary cap rules, are allowed to pay the swingman 20 percent more than last season…After returning to the lineup in February following thumb surgery, Daniels never regained his form. This way, according to agent Mark Bartelstein, Daniels has a chance to remind the league of who he is. ’He’s a $5 million or $6 million player when he’s healthy,’ said Bartelstein. ‘So we’ll do this now. He loves the team. He loves playing for Doc (Rivers), and he loves the guys. And then we’ll see what happens next summer.’”

he’s fundamental, but he kinda lost his steps. I hope he comes back from injury and regain his rhythm.

Hopefully, he’ll avoid bumping his head into anymore chests. Wouldn’t want another concussion, would we?

Glad to see him back with Boston. Now that TA is gone, he is a vital part of their bench.

was about to point that out Tzvi. This is a smart signing by both parties. Boston gets a proven starter with “test the water” money, and Marquis gets to prove himself as the 1st wing guy off the bench now that TA is out.

all hood players love playing for doc. and playing for this celtic team. i would love to see the locker room with out cameras… i bet its a lot of dice shooting and freestyling going on. they all remind me of n!ggas that i grew up with “The Hoodest Team in NBA history”

Daniels showed flashes of being a good fit last year, but even when he was healthy he was nailed to the bench most of the time. Unless he turns things around, I don’t see how this helps the C’s…

So his tats and diamond studded chain of his head will stay in bean town.

If he’s healthy and plays well in practice he will get playing time. Doc is a smart enough coach to where if he wasn’t playing there was a legit reason.
