Maverick Carter Involved in Shady LeBron Pendant Story

WEWS brings us what was once a feel-good story, but has now turned into a weird and a potential legal headache for Team LeBron: “Just a few days ago, Vaneisha Robinson believed her dreams were about to come true. Robinson paid $5 for a pendant in the shape of LeBron James’ number 23 jersey at a yard sale four years ago. Robinson thought it was costume jewelry until she had it appraised and certified by International Gemological Institute, which said the diamond-studded, gold jewelry was real and valued at nearly $10,000 … On Wednesday, Robinson said she got a phone call that turned her dream into a nightmare. Robinson said it was Katherine L. Powers, the mother of Maverick O. Carter. Carter is the CEO of LeBron James’ marketing company, LRMR. ‘[Powers] said that LeBron James was at her house and they wanted me to come over there. They were going to make me an offer that I couldn’t refuse,’ Robinson said. It turned out the one-of-a-kind pendant belongs to Carter, who claims it was stolen. Robinson said she and her mother went to the Wadsworth house Carter shares with his mother, believing James was going to buy the pendant and give it back to Carter. ‘When I got there, LeBron James was not there. It was about eight or nine other people there,’ Robinson said. ‘They pretty much accused me, they threatened me and they used their authority to they (sic) best ability to get the pendant in their possession.”‘

    I’m sure there is far more to this story than what’s being reported. But, you guys are right, the sooner LeBron separates himself from the clowns the better. I realize Maverick is his best friend, but he should keep him out of the advisor role.

    Maverick Carter per se doesn’t hurt him. Apparently, he’s the only one in the crew that can give him real talk without fear or being cut off or something. If anything, he’s a buffer between Bron and all the predatory execs and ad men. It’s the other guys. They serve no purpose at all. He should cut the freebies. Why does Rich Paul need to run with NBA players at Bron’s camp? Why does Randy Sims need to be on the team plane and the locker room before the games?

    Word is the only reason Miami signed James was because they were willing to Paul, Sims and Carter on the team payroll just like Cleveland, while Chicago and New York balked. That’s the word on the street, at least.

    CO-sign Allenp. No way Pat Riley is gonna put an end to this since supposedley he pretty much gave in to all of LeBron’s demands pre-Decision. It’s a shame too. Riley has a reputation as a no-nonsense type of dude. It’d be nice to see him put a halt to all this madness. Hopefully it won’t be as bad in MIA as it was in Cleveland. Stuff like LeBron making the other player’s wives give up their parking passes so he could give them to his boys and whatnot. Hell to the no, son, that ish wasn’t gonna go down in the Chi!

    Gotta give it to Mav on the power move he pulled on Wes. I can’t even call him WWW after that. He’s still cool with LeBron but he’s got zero pull. Funny how everyone was talking about Bron could be influenced by Jay, by Wes, etc. In the end he listened to his Mom, Mav and that’s it./ Yeah, chill on the living with his mom thing. His mom is living with him. They’re certainly not in the house he grew up with.

Because I know you don’t really believe this chick’s story that she bought it for $5?     What I want to know is why Carter did not report it stolen. This girl has had that pendant for 4 years. Worn it all over the place, then gets it appraised and finds out it is real. Then calls the news station. Then puts it on Ebay. Who in their right mind would do all that if they stole it? People Please. Also, Bron was in town that day and the next by his own words on Twitter. He had to know about what happened.He aint saying a word, and it is his agent!?. Something is not right here. Carter should have filed a police report, if he had that girl would have known when she sent it to be appraised. They keep up to date records on stolen jewelry and she would have never got it back if it was stolen.
