Nate Robinson, Celtics Agree on 2 Years, $9M

Cue the return of Shrek and Donkey. From Marc Spears: “Boston Celtics re-sign guard Nate Robinson to a two-year, $9 million deal plus bonuses, a league source tells Yahoo! Sports.”

Suprising, I didn’t think Boston would be able to keep him. Good work Danny Ainge.

Same here. I hope Nate puts in some work. I liked his decision making for the most part in the playoff run but his problem has always been consistency.

LA Huey: not every player is on a team for his consistency…nate is the ultimate 6th man, pure energy and scoring and he changes the tempo and flow of the game, taking the other team out of theirs

Nate celebrates by getting a tattoo of the Boston skyline.

Good work, he’s a great bench guy.

  • T-Money

I hope he’ll get the chance to actually be a 6th man.

All right!!! The final piece to another championship!!!Jajajaja
Is he the same Robinson that was acting tough on the finals?

Instant office in the NBA is priceless! Pay Nate!

The real q is will Doc Finally play Nate more minutes!?

  • LA Huey

@AlbertBarr, agreed. Not every player is consistent. He’s one Seattle’s most likeable sons. Nothing wrong with wanting to see one of your own be the best he can.

Wow, Yahoo! Sports? If it ain’t about LeBron, it doesn’t come from ESPN.

Really hope there is some $$$ left for Barnes…

Nate should have went somewhere else. The bobcats would have been a good fit for you Nate.

Nate will get more minutes at the 2 now that Ray Ray is coming back for his thirtieth season.

Glad to see what he can do with a whole season within the system. He’s a great “microwave” style player. Perfect for what they need, and to give Rondo rests now and then. 3 years and 9 Mil is a great deal to keep the most sought after free agent point guard. Not entirely sold on Semih Erden as backup center. If he thought he was sore after playing last year in Turkey, he’s gonna be disabled by the end of exhibition season, after getting pounded in the paint.

A good move by the celt’s.

celts are quietly having a good summer. i like that they kept nate. he showed balls when he would just come into some of those playoff games and knock down those big threes. he got the C’s fans behind him pretty quickly after he came here. super good energy when it’s needed on such an older team. are the C’s that close to barnes? i think i’d rather have ronnie brewer, but i guess barnes is probably a better SF defender. i don’t know much about ronnie’s D, or lack thereof.

  • vtrobot

just saw the headline that ronnie’s in CHI. sorry.

DANNY AINGE YOU ARE THE BEST!!! I truly believe Danny cannot replace Red Aurbach as the best Boston Celtics President ever, but certainly the best successor for Red. Welcome back NATE!
