Stephen Jackson’s Home Robbed, Wife Held at Gunpoint

by Ryne Nelson

Of all the people in Charlotte….

WSOC is reporting that Stephen Jackson’s home was broken into and robbed early on Wednesday, as masked men held his wife at gunpoint and then locked her in a bathroom.

According to the report, thieves took Louis Vuitton wallets, jewelry, a stun gun and a nine-millimeter handgun while Jax was in Texas for a basketball camp, but thankfully, no one was injured.

Three masked men broke into Stephen Jackson’s home early Wednesday morning, police said. Jackson was in Texas for a basketball camp but his wife was in the home at the time of the break-in.

According to a police report, the men held her at gunpoint while they took valuables from the home, including several Louis Vuitton wallets, a ruby-encrusted wristwatch, a stun gun and a 9 millimeter handgun.

The suspects then locked her in a bathroom, police said.

The Jacksons live in a gated community off Carmel Road in south Charlotte. Police said they are not sure how the suspects got into the neighborhood.

They are also not sure whether the robbers specifically targeted Jackson.

The $1.7 million, 6,000-square-foot tan stucco home with three garages is owned by former Bobcats guard Jason Richardson, who was traded to the Phoenix Suns during the 2008-09 season.

Sources told Eyewitness News that there are indications that the attack may not have been random, but detectives aren’t commenting on the matter.

There still are plenty of questions left unanswered, specifically, who staged break-in and how they managed to enter the Jackson’s gated community.

Police did not release any other details about the incident, and neither Jackson nor the Bobcats have released a statement. No arrests have yet been made. Until all the details to come out, we’ll withhold all assumptions.

you guys are a week late on this one.
but it is a sad story. and that nobody saw anything in a closed community is disturbing

  • Ryne Nelson Posted: Jul.24 at 10:35 am
    A week? Ha!

  • Kevin Posted: Jul.24 at 12:18 pm
It was probably an inside job, some dudes who been to his house before saw some stuff and ran up in there later on. Also, Jack couldn’t teach his wife how to use that stun gun or 9mm?

  • DreXnaW21 Posted: Jul.24 at 12:51 pm
damn thats not good, thank god nobody got hurt

  • jose Posted: Jul.24 at 1:11 pm
@ ab_40: it’s the bystander effect maybe? ppl saw but didnt wanna get involved. The news today hasn’t been so cheery today, w/ Wright missing, luke walton’s health and this too.

You really don’t want to have to teach ur wife how to use a hand gun, but with the money comes the target on ur back. Amazing what these cats have to go thru. Guess its time to upgrade the security system

  • Overtime Posted: Jul.24 at 1:21 pm
Why act as tho its as simple as teaching his wife how to use it? There are a million different variables in this situation…who knew where she was when they entered, where the weapons were, if it was an inside job they couldhave known where they were etc, who knows

‘athletes are out of control, why would an nba player ever need a gun, theyre thugs’. First eddy currys and toines fam in chi, now jack……. The world needs security craig

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Jul.24 at 2:39 pm
Yeah teach your wife how to shoot a gun that you keep in your house, the same wife that can use that gun and shoot u in your sleep. Great plan guys.

  • horsey Posted: Jul.24 at 3:23 pm
if the guys who broke in were armed she might have gotten herself killed if she shot at them. or, at least, beat up pretty badly. i’m pretty adamant with my girl that if anyone tries to come in she should resist but if they make it in they can take whatever they want. everything important is insured but trying to get a girl to not be paranoid and scarred/scared for the rest of her time in that residence is way harder to deal with…i can’t as easily replace her face or sanity.

  • flash Posted: Jul.24 at 5:21 pm
y wud u want her to use the gun? this aint an action movie u know she’s not gonna win against them, any signs of aggression from wifey and she’s done just like that! let the robbers take whatever they want as long as they keep u alive. life is much valuable more than anything material anyway.

@Total Scrotal: Not all NBA players are thugs. Quit being so stereotypical.

  • BETCATS Posted: Jul.24 at 6:03 pm
It is a real shame this happened. It is also a real shame people use this as an opportunity to call Capt. Jack and other NBA players out. Not just here but everywhere.

I never will knock any man for carrying guns in their house. People are friggin crazy nowadays and protecting you and your family should be a number one priority for all men. Like Ryne said, of all the people to rob, you do it to Jack? I would pray to God homeboy wouldn’t find my whereabouts.

Look, I never ever say this, but Slam’s getting really bad at putting stories up on time.

@PlanetAsia14: He was quoting for effect, not agreeing with it. Quit being so impulsive.

SLAM is so late on all the articles. I saw this on RealGM like a week and a half ago. Same with Shaq and the Celtics, but I still love ya’ SLAM.

why are all the victims of these robberies nba players that have had trouble? coincidence? i think not. first eddie curry then toine walker then s.jax. all of these players have all been labeled “thugs”. it’s sad that these players go through these kinds of things. they got out of the ghetto but the ghetto won’t let them go.

  • Royal Posted: Jul.25 at 4:16 pm
^^^^ Im pretty sure NBA players are not the only people getting robbed……

  • Rubens Posted: Jul.25 at 6:28 pm
Must of the guns people have in their houses end up on the streets after being robbed. Very little odds of actually getting to the gun and shooting somebody before you get shot yourself. Yeah, sounds like a good idea trying to shoot a robber…

  • Shane Posted: Jul.26 at 1:19 am
They pick a home to rob and it’s Stack Jack’s house? They better hope Jackson doesn’t find out who they are.

  • Chukaz Posted: Jul.27 at 5:36 am
i just wonder if the robbery n the wife held at gunpoint stories r related. maybe they robbed jax’s house n he got mad so he held his wife at gun point… that was not funny. hope she not too f*cked up in the head after this
