Tracy McGrady on the Bulls’ Radar?

The Sun-Times reports that Chicago is taking a look at a handful of shooting guards around the L, and T-Mac is on the list: “They still have room under the salary cap, and NBA sources said the Bulls have had discussions with representatives for Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and even Tracy McGrady. McGrady is the biggest name of the group, but Howard might be the most intriguing. He’s a starting-quality swingman and would have drawn much interest this summer if not for a knee injury he suffered in February while playing for the Washington Wizards against the Bulls. Howard probably won’t be ready to start the season this fall, but he might be worth a gamble if the price is right. The Bulls can afford to wait for him to get healthy. Once they’ve shifted their attention from guards, they probably will try to re-sign a couple of their own free agents, specifically backup center Brad Miller.”

Didn’t Brad sign with the Rockets three days ago?

  • jufu

awww damn. noah, rose, and mcgrady. SUPERTEAM.

  • JoeMaMa

@Eboy: yes. I’m surprised this is a posting; it mentions T-Mac, in passing as an option. Non news. It should be “Josh Howard – still hung over from last night’s party – couldn’t work out with the Bulls today…”

  • Groves

yeah miller is gone, someone missed the story… T-mac and howard are both quality swingmen- don’t even think about shannon f-ing brown

All Shannon can do is dunk, sad to say, but true. Best option there is Probably T-Mac, they need another perimeter scorer to take pressure off of D-Rose. Josh Howard plays the best D, but He plays similar to Luol Deng offensively.

This would be a good movie for the bulls, they have a great chicago facility that tmac trains at to he can get him slf injury free. and as he showed last year in flashs he still has it. i say take the risk on a 2 year deal.

I would love this move, T-Mac gets a chance to start (he would beat out Korver IMO) and could prove his naysayers wrong. Would be the perfect situation for him IMO.

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

his naysayers…last year dude said he was completely healthy, Knicks give him playin time, Mac had 1 bug game and from then on he LITERALLY couldnt move anymore…no hate, I like his game and daBulls prolly should try with like a 1year deal, but theyre not naysayers, theyre realistic.

  • Scottie Pimpin’

sign him. you can never have enough shooters.

  • pace

they already signed Ronnie Brewer though. i think this article is old as hell

  • http://itsahardwoodlife.blogspot.com omphalos

He couldn’t move or he wouldn’t move? He was playing for a Knicks team with no chance of the playoffs and coming off a major surgery. Why would he risk his future on a half year deal by going all out. He could surprise some people.

  • IndyB

Anyone remember when the Bulls tried to sign him when he was still good and ended up with Ron Mercer instead?

Its okay that t-mac will sign. But they need a back pf. Taj gibson is a undersized pf. He would probably match with bosh, garnett, pau. And it is a mismatch. And a veteran back up center. To help noah in a crucial game like kurt thomas.

    Starting five
    pg-flip murray
pf-gibson(or s and g for something big veteran pf)
    c-kurt thomas/asik

T-Mac? I wouldn’t want a guy on my team that took the torch from Penny.

  • a_whiteman

I’d like to see them pick up josh howard I think he would be a great fit for them. Can scored rebound defend and can run the break.
