Andrea Bargnani’s Take On Chris Bosh’s Departure

In an interview with HoopsHype, Bargnani had a lot of interesting things to say. For instance: “What was your reaction when you learned Bosh was going to Miami? AB: I wasn’t surprised. His contract was finished and the feeling was that he was going to leave. You could feel that he was going to leave for the last couple of months before the end of the season. Everybody had this kind of feeling. So I wasn’t surprised. Some people believe he gave up on the team late last season. What do you think about that? AB: Every time he was wearing the jersey on the court, he always played hard. His numbers prove that. He’s a good player. As for personal stuff, I don’t know, I can’t know and personally I don’t want to know. Everybody can think whatever.”

Bargnani speaking his mind. Very political answers. He should feel pressured now that the torch has been passed onto him to lead the Raptors.

@rickyrude; he will lead the raptors straight to the cellar

Andrea Bargnani is gonna break out this season, and become a superstar like Dirk. Book it.

There’s a lot of hate for Andrea but his numbers have improved each year he’s been in the league and he’s only 24 yrs old

  • Orlando Green Posted: Aug.1 at 5:09 pm
With the terrible squad the raptors have next year I can picture him averaing 25 and 11…

  • Neil Barry Posted: Aug.1 at 5:15 pm
AB and DeMar are going to break out and make Raptors bball finally look like the Suns North edition. Now… let’s get Iverson suited up …

  • TheMambaMayn Posted: Aug.1 at 5:18 pm

@MattyP WOW like Dirk. You guys have been saying that about every European big man and it hasn’t come to past. And with baking soda soft bargnani it not happening also.

Bargnani is only a little better than Yi. Neither of them are gonna be Dirk like unfortunately.

Where do people get this idea that Toronto is a bad team? Did Minnesota, Washington, The Bay, Detroit, Philly, The Clippers, Indiana and Charlotte all lose their franchises or something? Geez, David Kahn would probably argue with you over who’s better: Bargnani or Darko “Manna from Heaven” Milicic.

to his credit he dusnt have a go to move like dirks turnaround but he is 1000000000000 times more athletic that almost every big man nevermind dirk

Good dude. As for the Raps, Ewing theory anyone?

  • Dacre Posted: Aug.2 at 2:42 am
    whats the Ewing theory d.Y?

  • Lai Wai Posted: Aug.2 at 3:12 am
The Raptors have depth and youth many much worse in the East. With what they have now they will be in similar shape as they were with Bosh. After 7th or 8th seed. Detroit, Cleveland, Pacers, Charlotte, Philly, Washington are worse. NYK & NJ will fight for 7th and 8th. NYK can easily suck as well depending on Amare if he can adjust without Nash?

Ewing theory: the team gets better when the star is gone. This is a misapplication of the Ewing theory, as the Knicks sucked total arse after Ewing left the team for good. The Ewing theory refers to when Patrick Ewing was injured.

As an objective Raps fan, I can say that AB has improved his play each he’s been in the league with the exception of Year 2. His problem is that he was taken #1 overall and his play never lived up to the expectations of a top draft pick (especially when B. Roy was selected afterwards) He also doesn’t play like your typical 7 footer because he would much rather play away from the basket then banging underneath.

Andrea Bargnani is on the cusp of greatness. So close.

  • LDR4 Posted: Aug.2 at 8:08 am
Please don’t compare Bargnani to Dirk.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER Posted: Aug.2 at 8:19 am
Linas “TV L” Kleiza will have a breakout season in Toronto too. LK never got enough burn to shine in Denver, playing behind the great Carmelo Kiyan Anthony.

  • Dma Posted: Aug.2 at 12:15 pm
He’ll break out only be use that team will be horrible next year.

  • JL Posted: Aug.2 at 12:54 pm
bargnani is going to kick some tail this year. i think he’ll average 22 and 9.

  • niQ Posted: Aug.2 at 2:59 pm
@TheMambaMayn, iverson doesn’t want to win, he just wants to start.

  • Kyle Posted: Aug.21 at 6:12 am
I see Bargnani scoring 23 points a game, but only grabbing about 6.8 boards a game. He’ll never be Dirk, but since Bosh is gone(and the disappointing Hedo), he’ll have a green light to shoot whenever he wants. Calderon is one of the most unselfish, adept point guards in the league, and if Bargnani doesn’t take 20 shots a game, Toronto will suck. Kleiza, who’s only 25, could also put up some huge numbers. He scored 14 a game in 07-08 in the playoffs with tons of ballhogs on his team, and once scored 41. A year in Greece might have him in better playing shape than ever. Maybe Barbosa can learn how to play without Nash, and revert back to the speed demon who averaged 18 points a game in 06-07… but I doubt that. It’s still going to be hard for them to win 30 games. I doubt Calderon will come back healthy, more willing to take more shots, and speed up the tempo which is what Toronto needs. He’s too busy walking the ball up the court when he can play both both tempos.
