DC Assault/The Show About Nothing Recap
After kicking it with John Wall, Wale performed in NYC last night

Washington Wizards rookie prince John Wall watched Team USA’s win over France sitting with DC’s rap king Wale Sunday at Madison Square Garden. One night later, Wale ran point at his concert in front of a packed Highline Ballroom at his “Show About Nothing,” sponsored by Rap Radar. Running through a number of hits like “Nike Boots,” Chillin,” “Pretty Girls” and tracks from his new mixtape More About Nothing, the show was pure energy.
The night’s biggest surprise came mid-show when “Beautiful Bliss” off of his debut album played featuring fellow hip-hop rookie turned all-star J.Cole. The Roc Nation family didn’t disappoint as J.Cole surprised fans and spit his epic verse to the track.
A good point knows how to feed a hot player so Wale let J.Cole keep the crowd and perform his newest record “Blow Up,” starting his verse with “Now don’t it sound legendary”, and that it did.
Wale rocked Highline in a pair of kicks Phil Knight probably hasn’t even seen while performing hit after hit with for a hype crowd and dropping a dime to a superstar teammate. Here’s to hoping John Wall was listening courtside to fellow DC royalty.
