Former KU Star Inks Contract

After going undrafted, point guard Sherron Collins has found a home, at least temporarily, in Charlotte. The KC Star catches us up to speed: “After a successful stint with Charlotte’s summer-league team, Collins signed a nonguaranteed, two-year deal with the team Friday. ‘Sherron had a productive summer league and showed some of the qualities he displayed while at Kansas,’ general manager Rod Higgins said. ‘He’s going to have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot.’ Collins’ best summer-league game was a 32-point outing, including seven three-pointers, against Orlando.”

I really believe he’s gonna be a decent PG in the league pretty much right away.

I was very surprised he was not drafted. He showed great leadership skills at Kansas.

Charlotte has liked what they’ve seen in Collins for awhile.

If he can lose….10-15bls before the season starts he can be a huge addition for this squad. Sad seeing him in summer league play looking like baby shaq or something

Old news posted can only be followed up by a late comment by me. Collins is gonna have a chance to prove himself this year, but i doubt he will be much more than a reserve for at least 2-3 years. He has potential to be a solid starter one day, but he went undrafted for a reason. I’d say Collins was worth a late 1st-early 2nd round pick based off what his talent could eventually amount to, but as of now he is only worth about what the Bobcats are paying him.
