Kevin Love Lacking Love in Minny

It’s so cold in the M for K-Love, he tells NBA.com: “Love was asked Tuesday if he felt more appreciated with the U.S. Team than with the Timberwolves. ‘Yes,’ he responded. ‘Just a solid yes.’ But he was quick to clarify. ‘I don’t want to come off sounding like a prima donna or sound like I’m complaining or anything,’ Love said. ‘I just feel like, since I’ve been here, it’s really been a great team atmosphere. We feel like we have a chance to win this whole thing. I think everybody is just coming in with a great attitude and appreciating everybody as a whole, and really becoming a family. I’m just saying in a 15-win season, last year with the Timberwolves, a lot of stuff happened…a lot of new players…we had blown up that team. Heading into this year, we need to just start becoming a family, kind of like it is here, and integrate that family atmosphere into the Timberwolves.’”

I’d be bitter if I were Love. He really couldn’t have started off his career in a worse place than Minny. He’s a much better player than most people get to see.

I’ll show some love for Kevin Love. With Jefferson gone this guy is set to go crazy on the blocks (not blocked shots) this year. I can see him averaging close to 20-10. Hopefully, the Wrath of Kahn will die down soon so all the team has to focus on is basketball. That being said, I don’t see the Timberwolves winning more than 25 games.

He should goto the Knicks. Their big men could use some grit.

Love should’ve started last season! Hopefully he can get at least 30 mpg this year.

klove can definitely do 20-10. or even more than 10. more like 19 and 12, with no blocks etc. but he even makes a three. oh and can minny fire kahn already? he makes the team look stupid whenever he is involved.

Kevin needs to stop the whining. He’ll have to earn his PT, it’s not going to be handed to him simply because he grouses over it. He will be competing for minutes with Beasley, Pekovic, and Tolliver. I don’t expect any of these guys simply resting on the bench until Love calls for subs.

Now that Big Al has left, Kevin’s going to get all the love, and the blame. So tie you shoelaces fella.

Whaaaaaaaaaa. Usually, anything prefaced with “I don’t wanna look/sound like I am” is exactly what the person is looking/sounding like.

  • The D Train

Um, Hedo, you do know that they had Love coming off the bench at varying times last year behind Darko and Ryan Hollins. If you honestly believe that Love didn’t “earn his PT” last season more than those cats, I guess I’m just not sure what to say.

id be mad too if i put up 14 and 11 and didnt even start or get 30 mpg

Love is a very good player who would normally command starter status and majority playing time at the 4. But there was this guy named Al Jefferson who was just a “little” bit better than Love. Rambis also had to deal with what was going on between Love’s ears and through his mouth. Nothing like throwing your team mates under the bus when arguing for starter status and major PT. Love is a bit of a diva who needs to grow up mentally too.

The D Train – Love (4) played an entirely different position than Darko (5).

  • The D Train

Rambis also started Hollins and Darko together sans Jefferson. So one of those dudes was considered the starting 4. And there were multiple games where Love and Jefferson started. So wasn’t one of them then considered a 5? It seemed like Rambis basically interchanged the 4 dudes between the post spots. Just my opinion, but Love is head and shoulder above Darko and Hollins in almost every respect, except for maybe shot-blocking.

Kevin Love led the Wolves in Win Shares per 48 by a pretty hefty margin…even over the guy who is supposedly “a ‘little’ bit better.” I will say that at least he was 5th on the team in minutes per game, so at least he’s getting some average PT. I read a quote from him saying that going into this year he wants to start but that would be a different story if he was behind Bynum and Gasol. So if the dude knows he’s the best guy on the team, or even second best, does it make sense for him to be the 6th man and only get the 5th most minutes per game? You can call him a whiner, but it’s not like Kahn and Rambis have a solid track record here, and the dude is basically averaging a double-double so he can split minutes with guys that are clearly inferior to him. Tough road for him, but he’s got a valid gripe in my opinion.

I know I’m gonna watch some Timberwolves this season. Smooth Wesley Johnson will become a star from the get go.

    Stop whining

I thought this was about Kevin not getting any from the girls in Minny. Misleading title.

  • Coney Islander

He plays for the T’Wolves, you guys are lucky he hasn’t Kurt Cobained himself in the locker room yet!

  • gregor

Coney Islander – No. Just… no.

dude has so much potential.. i liked him much better than jefferson honestly.. its jus hard to see why minny doesnt play him more.. dude only played like 28 mpg last season and still put up 14 n 11.. thats amazing.. i cant wait til dude becomes a free agent and gets as far away from minny as he can.. there is nothing there for him and he could be so much more on a different team.. i would put him as one of the top 5 pf in the league right now tho i know most of would not agree with me but do yal know that if he got the minutes that dwight has he would lead the league in boards? jus saying but love really doesnt get any love at all.. cant wait to see him play for usa
