No Resolution Between Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony

The team reportedly met with Melo over the weekend, but the owner’s son could not break the stalemate with the star forward: “Denver Nuggets executive Josh Kroenke met with Carmelo Anthony in Baltimore over the weekend and restarted the process of selling the disgruntled star on signing a contract extension, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. No resolutions were reached, sources said, but Kroenke, the owner’s son, has undoubtedly emerged as a far more powerful voice in the franchise. His burden is unmistakable now: As a 30-year-old on the cusp of taking over majority ownership of the Nuggets, he must sell the All-Star forward on staying the course with the Nuggets. The Nuggets are close to hiring a new general manager – with former Phoenix Suns executive David Griffin the frontrunner – but Kroenke and adviser Bret Bearup will have the most significant say in basketball matters.”

I just dont get why they wont give him a couple more years on the deal. Am I missing something? He’s top 10 right now.

Carmelo is disgruntled? No. He’s fine. He just wants to play for the Knicks/Nets/team with brighter future. Too bad for Kroenokenorokke. Trade now, you 30 year old dynamo.

This process will consume most of the up coming season. Don’t expect any resolutions soon.

Why all the hype around a guy who never made it to the finals…? Its getting annoying…

  • rikson

I mean its not like any of those teams will win a chip once hes there!

If patient, Carmelo can get to go where he wants to go, get paid max dollars, and be on a contender should he choose to opt for free agency. It’s a risky route due to the current situation surrounding the CBA, but risk cannot be avoided if one wants to achieve something great. Embrace risk and be great. Carpe diem, Carmelo!

Melo made up his mind already during the summer. We all know he wants to play in New York. Nothing the Nuggets can say or do. And we all know that Chris Paul, who came right out and said that he wanted to be in New York, will be there as well if he’s not traded before it’s time for him to become a free agent.

  • total scrotal implosion

    Denver is screwed

i dont get this who cares what melo wants trade him to the highest bidder if u get good offers if not trade him to a losing team for money and picks, maybe they can get some1 good in the draft

@Brett, took the words right out of my mouth!

@Rv would seem kinda dumb for the nuggets to trade him inside the same conference and I can’t see anyone the rockets would trade that the nuggets would want *cough aaron brooks.

  • Tyler

Let’s just save all the drama and a “Decision Pt2″ and ship Melo off to NY so he can play patty cake with Amare, CP3 and Spike Lee

  • Coney Islander

    YES SIR!

Carmelo prefers the Houston Rockets more than the New York Knicks? HELL NAW! I’m not buying that angle for a second. Whomever that source is, is full of ish. My source right “here” says Carmelo wants to be a Knicka for life. BOOK IT!

  • NBA kid

are the magic still on his radar? or is melo fully committed to the knickerbockers?

  • Clos1881

The magic make the most sense for all involved the magic has alot of pieces to trade their in the eastern confrence and for Melo he has a chance to win it all

  • al29

Carmelo to NY, Arenas to DEN, and cash from NY to WAS. Seems pretty easy to me. Or, Melo to the Bulls for whomever. Again: easy.
