Pat Ewing Comes Home To Knicks

NBCNewYork has the info: “ Patrick Ewing Jr. is back with the team where his father became famous. The team says the former Georgetown star signed with the New York Knicks as a free agent Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ewing was the 43rd pick of the 2008 draft by Sacramento, but wound up with the Knicks through a series of moves. He spent the 2008-09 season in the NBA Development League but missed all of last season because of injuries. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 4.8 points in four games for the Knicks’ summer league team. Ewing’s father played 15 seasons for the Knicks before finishing his career in Seattle and Orlando. The elder Ewing appeared in 11 All-Star Games with New York.”

Gotta love the misleading headlines. Welcome to the NBA offseason.

I don’t understand. I mean I get it Pat did a lot for the knicks , but this is taking away a roster spot from someone who can actually contribute. You don’t see the Bulls signing Jeffery Jordan. The Knicks are so bush league.

well to be fair, they did spend a crap load of money on stat.

@ Bryan: Ewing Jr. actually would have done well if he got some playing time the previous years… He’s a solid defender and terrific at getting into the lane and creating space for his teammates…

I’m glad he is back. He was good in preseason last year before he got injured.

He took up the Knicks last roster spot, which means no Earl Barron. I was really hoping that guy would get a chance at the NBA. Hey played tough for the Knicks at the end of the last season. Had a memorable 18 and 17 game against the Celtics to boot! So sad.

WTF no Earl Barron? He was the true CENTER the Knicks needed! I like Ewing Jr. and I’m cool with him making the team, but KEEP EARL BARRON. No offense to Andy Rautins but Barron deserves to stay…
