Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is Very Angry at C.J. Watson

If this TMZ report is to be believed, CJ might want to think about finding a good hiding spot. Yeesh: “Floyd Mayweather Jr. was in a fit of jealousy over a basketball player when he allegedly attacked his baby mama, Josie Harris and threatened to kill the pair … this according to the police report obtained by TMZ. According to the report, Mayweather read text messages on Josie’s phone … which included messages from C.J. Watson (pictured below), who plays for the Chicago Bulls.  According to the report, Mayweather screamed, ‘Are you having sex with C.J.?’ Harris replied, ‘Yes, that is who I’m seeing now.’ According to the report, the 10-year-old son of Mayweather and Harris told cops he ‘saw his dad was on his mother and was hitting and kicking her.’ According to the report, ‘Harris stated that Mayweather began yelling at Harris, ‘I’m going to kill you and the man your (sic) are messing around with.’  He also stated, ‘I’m going to have you both disappear.’ The police report says Harris was taken to Southern Hills Hospital and treated for ‘minor facial injuries and a sore left arm.’”

cj watson? man that’s random as hell

Hahahaha not to make fun of domestic violence, but that is the most random headline! On one hand, you’ve got arguably the most famous boxer in the world against a bench NBA player nobody but hardcore hoops junkies knows about.

CJ don’t want it because allegedly Mayweather’s goons got goons.

Its Mayweather – he’ll probably have CJ cornered in an alley and then find a reason not to fight him.

  • Exile

Dare you to say that to his face Rusty. I don’t like the guy either… but he can punch.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Mayweather better not make our new backup PG “disappear”, we’re gonna need dude this season! I wonder if CJ is trying to convince James Johnson to be his bodyguard for the time being. I bet JJ could take on Pretty Boy too. CJ….nah.

  • JTaylor21

@Enig, you must not known anything about the devastating punching power boxers posses, even the shortest and skinniest boxer can drop a 6-7 240 pound guy in the blink of an eye. Shout outs to Suge Knight’s chin.

Wdnder how he would’ve reacted if his girl had told him she was having an affair with Pacquiao!!

If CJ hired Manny Pacquiao as his body guard!
I BET MAYWEATHER WOULDN’T DO CRAP TO CJ THEN HAHA!!!

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@JTaylor – Oh no doubt, Mayweahter’s punching power is out of this world. But James Johnson’s been training in MMA for like his whole life and has some professional wins under his belt. Now, we’d never know how it’d go down between them two because it (probably) will never happen, but 9 times out of 10 I’m gonna put my money on the MMA fighter over the boxer. Both are capable of knockout punches but if the MMA fighter gets some kicks in or gets the boxer on the ground – it. is. over. Especially if you’re talking about a BJJ and Muay Thai expert like JJ. I think the size of either fighter is irrelevant. I’d just as likely bet on a 5′ 3″, 145 lbs. MMA fighter over a 6′ 8″, 240 lbs. boxer…probably.

  • http://dfjklf.com Jukai

JTaylor21: Not saying that Mayweather wouldn’t win out this one, but James Johnson had two choices in his life: Go to the NBA or go to the UFC. He was a kickboxer and wrestler and had an undefeated record. Obviously the NBA was a far more lucrative position, but don’t sleep on Johnson’s fighting abilities, he’s a master kickboxer. I’m sure he’s nowhere NEAR Floyds fighting ability, but you got a 5’8 insane boxer vs a 6’9 great kickboxer? I’d put my money on the kickboxer, if only for the odds.

    Mayweather: 5’8, 135-150, Watson: 6’2, 175 … WHO YA GOT???

First off, floyd would destroy james johnson with a quickness, im talking 88 tyson knockout time. And manny has done various types of cheating, namely chemical. Manny backed out cuz he didnt want a small amount of blood drawn a week before the fight, even tho same thing would happen to floyd. Manny is scared of the light

  • Gabe

Wow! Floyd would kill CJ Watson, JJ, and Shaq at the same time! are you guys kidding me? this man would end their lives! Run CJ Watson, What are you doing!

  • JTaylor21

I hate when people think that MMA fighters can F*CK with boxers. People don’t understand the kind of talent and drive it takes to become a decent boxer let alone a great one. Great boxers like Ali/Foreman/Hagler/Hearns/Sugar Ray Robinson/Leonard,etc. would DESTROY any MMA boxer at any given time, I didn’t even mention Iron Mike who would’ve ripped a guy like BLesnar a new a**hole. MMA aint got SH*T on boxing.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

JTaylor – I disagree, but everytime we bump heads on something neither of us budge. So I’m just gonna say “I disagree”, and leave it at that.

  • http://thephotoriot.com davidR

jtaylor, it’s not that simple. boxing and mma are completely different. the fact that mma allows fighters to use the ground and their feet, boxers are already at a huge disadvantage.

  • http://slamonline.com JL

boxers would get their asses whooped in an MMA match every time. JTaylor stop drinking the coolaid. Do you even see people only use punches in a MMA match? No because the submission part is much more important. Throwing punches is only a part of MMA. You can’t even grab the opponent in boxing. Mayweather would have no idea what to do in a MMA match. If he got trained in MMA then that’s a different story.

  • Rusty

@exile, no doubt the man can fight, that doesnt mean he automatically gets my respect. He hit a woman, so in my eyes hes a punk b*tch. Would I say to his face? maybe, im sure if i took a beating off him i could get some money some how haha

  • Rusty

@jtaylor are you talkin bout in a boxing match or MMA fight, cause the MMA fighter would destroy a boxer in an MMA fight and vice versa.

JTaylor: How well did James Toney do against Randy Couture? Don’t bother answering, your small peabrain could never be convinced of anything.
Just bringing this up for everyone else to see.

  • http://thephotoriot.com davidR

to be fair, couture would probably get manhandled by toney in a boxing match

  • JTaylor21

People, I’m talking about in a boxing ring because both sports have only one thing in common and that’s boxing. Of course an MMA guy would probably beat a boxer fighting mixed martial arts but a boxer would ANNIHILATE them in a boxing ring. @Jukai, okay granpa your jokes have failed AGAIN just like your heart does every other day. Age doesn’t always bring wisdom, in your case age came alone.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

    CJ Watson has 99 problems…

  • flipnoyce

I wish it was Manny Pacman who she was having an affair with so they could get that fight going. Mayweather ain’t gonna fight someone bigger than him unless they’re in their 40′s, lol. MMA is a different sport than boxing. There’s no discipline in MMA because anything goes. If you take the best MMA fighter in any weight class n take the Best boxer in any weight class n slug it out in boxing rules, there is no question who would win that fight a BOXER!!!! in a real fight nobody hugs their opponents on the ground.

  • http://www.manutd.com t-money

boxers get manhandled in the octagon, mma fighters get manhandled in the ring. that’s widely accepted. now ask yourself this: what is more similar to a street fight, mma or boxing? case closed.

@Rusty how can you say that, have you ever seen a street fight where people are kicking each other, I know I haven’t because nobody does that sh*t in street fights but I’ve seen countless fights where one punch is enough. All a boxer needs is one shot in a street fight and it’s over in a mili second.

@BTerry, I’d still take a 20yr old Iron Mike any day over Booz and his t-rex arms.

  • Red

CJ will be fine that’s dumb to think Floyd would do anything. CJ seems like a good dude also so I doubt anything’ll happen. & if it does JJ will mess Floyd up lol.

MMA fighters are good on their feet period(strikers) & look at what happened to James Toney. MMA is alot more complex & more intense+lethal. Floyd wouldn’t even dare.

  • Rusty

@Jtaylor, I have seen lots of street fights were one guy tackles the other and they wrestle for a bit, in fact its not very often you see a street fight with two guys standing there boxing each other. MMA is not just kickboxing remember, its everything, an MMA fighter has a lot of wrestling and grappling experience even if its not one of their specialties.

  • Rusty

im also taking a young iron mike v booz with a chainsaw. In fact i’d take young Mike Tyson vs almost anyone in the world.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

You can’t compare boxing OR MMA to street fights anyways. Most dude in the streets don’t know what the hell they’re doing, just flailing their arms like mad. It’s really funny to watch. They get stole the hell off on when they try and fight someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

in a street fight MMA wins 8 out of 10.. guys there are rules in MMA like you cant hit a guy with a knee on the head when falling down, and some choke techniques because it can easily put guys to sleep.. thats why you see those akward hugging on the ground because one mistake and your done.. Those are not illegal in a street fight imagine that. And don’t ever say that MMA fighters don’t have knockout punches..

  • The Philosopher

MMA guys would destroy most boxers.
Mike Tyson in his prime MAY have a chance against one of those guys.
MMA guys are damn near trained to kill with bare hands.

  • kash

who the hell does mayweather think he is? Beating on a woman, are you serious? This guy needs to goto jail but before that make his ass fight manny pacquioa for the pound for pound title. I didn’t like this idiot before but now he just disgusts me.

  • Sparkyjay23

So let me get this right – Floyd punched a woman and all she had was some “minor facial injuries and a sore left arm”. No wonder he’s running scared of Pacman.

I wouldn’t bet on anyone over a young Tyson in the ring or on the street.
As an MMA fan I would say this though in his prime very few MMA fighters would have been able to beat Tyson in a no rule fights .I would give the edge to the top MMA fighters with great grapling techniques.

GTFOH with that MMA BS.

  • http://slamonline.com Krishan

Space, that’s one hell of a stretch. You talk about mma fighters like they’re out of work actors who happen to stumble upon some random flier and decided to go into mma. The training and conditioning of the elite mma’s are comparable to a boxer’s, even with floyd’s pedigree. And a wrestling background is supposed to be a negative for an mma fighter? What? To be fair, I would like to point out any more arguments to t-money’s 11:42 comment. That pretty much sums it up right there.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

Boxing does not translate to the real world. That’s not real fighting. MMA isn’t either but its much closer. Mayweather would get bum rushed and tackled to the ground before he could throw a punch. He wouldn’t have a lot of power on his back. Forget MMA, any Kickboxer would beat the best Boxer. Take a couple of strong kicks to your legs and then see how much power you can generate in your punches with no tourque from your lower half. Its not even an argument. Yes, it takes a lot of training to becoem a good boxer, but that hardley means you’d win a real street fight.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Krishan, I respect your argument; there are some dudes out there like an Anderson Silva that clearly display that their fighting with way more than luck and probability. MMA is popular because it provides a swift and violent conclusion; somebody’s getting hit, even if the match goes to decision. What I am saying is though, that if you were to get a legitimate, veteran professional boxer to fight a professional MMA guy of the same caliber, there shouldn’t be a doubt in anybody’s mind.. If that boxer gets his fist on any part of that MMA fighter’s head, its over.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

And everyone talking about a young Tyson…I can name 20 heavyweight MMA fighters right now that would eat his lunch. BOXING IS NOT FIGHTING. He’d get tackled, kicked..his stuby arms wouldn’t even get close enough to make contact. James Toney fought a 46 year old Randy Couture and he literally didn’t get a single punch off. He got beat up and choked out in 2 minutes time.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

Spaceship – I’d bet good money that most professional boxers would lose a real street fight to 90% of college wrestlers.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Diesel- I’d be down for that bet. Psyche matters in fights; “This dude might punch my brains outta my face” sounds a lot more burdening than “This guy might tackle the soul out of my body.” I respect the Randy Couture comment too; but James Toney??? ….

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

Spaceship, I’m saying Toney because he’s the only boxer that’s stepped up, but in all fairness, he is a heavyweight champ. One of the 16 boxing currently has. And its not just about being tackeld to the ground. Its about taking elbows and punches to your face once someones on top of you. You’re not getting a wrestler off of you once they’re on top of you. One good elbow to the face will do more damage than 10 punches. MMA, and to a lesser extent wrestling, is in a whole other league than boxing when it comes to translating those skills to a real fight.

  • PapaBearATL

Floyd breaks his hands wearing gloves fighting other 150lb dudes! Plus his KO’s are usually acummalation knockouts, not first round massive display of power knockouts. His chin is suspect, he is just so good defensively no one has been able to check it, he is susceptible to southpaws: watch the Chop Chop fight, he was stunned, Zab knocked him down, I don’t care what the ref called it, I know what I saw. That is the main reason I think he won’t fight Pacman, he’s a lefty. He is good for whipping up on women in a street fight, how many dudes has he made press for beating up in a street fight? 5’8″ 155 vs a dude he would have to jump to hit a la Lil’ Mac on Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, no gloves, no rules, no chance…

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Hmmm. Perhaps. Again other than an Anderson Silva, its rare that I watch an MMA fight and chalk the the winner winning due to skills. A lot of what I see is, he swung with his eyes closed, he connected. He laid on top of the other dude and mushed his face for a while, the other guy couldn’t take it. Tap outs, those are skill; in a street fight though I feel like an arm bar is far fetched.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

Spaceship.. No disrespect but i think you need to watch more MMA fights. An arm bar, is not far fetched as what you think. Referees stop the fight to prevent anymore damage. A fighter taps due to he couldnt counter anymore. Or if he didnt tap he would break his arm, his leg, his shoulder, put into sleep through chockes. imagine that happening in a street fight where there’s no ref to stop the fight. They can knock out boxer too. I could argue that boxers only need one hit is far fetched. MMA fighters have iron chin, and knockout punches too. The fact that MMA have more ways to attack, counter and defend, standing up or on the ground gives them a WHOLE LOT of advantage when it comes to outside fighting.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

    No offense taken J.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

My advice Spaceship, especially if you like boxing, is to give MMA a chance. Its much more technical than the casual viewer thinks. Definitely much more evolved than the original “Ultimate Fighting: that everyone thinks of. This isn’t a bunch of bar fighters stepping into a cage. These are well conditioned technical athletes. The reason the boxing in MMA doesn’t look as pretty as in boxing itself is because an MMA stance takes into account protecting yourself from kicks and takedowns. You have to know boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, jujitsu. The game has evolved. And on a slightly different note, the UFC is for the most part the main game in town. So you don’t have 16 different belts in each of the 25 weight classes like boxing. I’d recommend watching a BJ Penn or George St Pierre fight.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I had no idea I’d be creating such a huge argument when I brought up James Johnson vs. Floyd Mayweather. As for an armbar being far-fetched in a street fight, again it depends on who’s fighting and if they know what they’re actually doing. I was taught MCMAP while serving in the Marines, which is a hybrid form of martial arts that encompasses elements of Karate, Judo, Muay Thai and Jui Jitsu, among others. Now, I’m not the type to go out and get myself into situations where I’d get into a street fight, not since I was a teenager anyways (I’m a family man now), but plenty of my buddies have gone out and gotten into scraps, and believe me that training kicks in. I’ve known dudes who arm-bar, triangle-choke or flat out blood-choke someone to end a fight. Boxers could rely on their training in street fights too, and if they land a punch odds are the other dude is going down. But it’s way too easy for a boxer to fall into unfamiliar territory in a street fight.

Pride FC-era Wanderlei Silva was my all-time favorite MMA fighter. Dude was LETHAL. His matches against Quentin Jackson in Pride? Brutal.

You’d appreciate him. Dude is a legit MMA fighter contending for the belt at 185, an army ranger, and sniper instructor.

  • PapaBearATL

In the end, why does ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather care who is baby-mama/ex-girlfriend is dating? I’m sure he had every opportunity to wife her or make her ‘his possesion’ over these many years! I could care less what any of my ex’s are doing, as long as, some dude ain’t mistreating the kids. You can BOOK IT, lol!

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@ Diesel – Yeah, I think I’m gonna go dig up the old Pride dvds I have when I get home. The fighters you mentioned, plus also a young Dan Henderson, Kazushi Sakuraba, Igor Vochachnyn, Daijiro Matsui (he was a sentimental favorite of mine cause he wasn’t the best fighter, he’d take his share of beatings but he’d never quit), I could go on for days. I had never heard of Tim Kennedy, I just read up on dude in Wikipedia and I’m impressed. The fact that he can maintain a professional MMA career AND serve as a Green Beret (FYI, Green Berets are a step above Rangers, and second only to Delta Force in the Army, and while I served in the Marines, I’ll quickly acknowledge that Army Delta Force and Navy SEALs are the best of the best…though I’ll also quickly point out that MARSOC is still very new to the SOCOM community)is just awesome.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

Enigmatic – I already liked you because you’re Chicago at heart, but the fact that you legit know real MMA and not just UFC, you’re officially alright in my book.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@ Diesel – Thanks, fam. Right back at you! Though I’ll admit, I’m pretty well-versed on the history of the sport, but I do a terrible job of keeping up with the latest stuff. I’d still rather watch an old Bas Rutten or Rickson Gracie fight than a Brock Lesnar or whoever’s the next big thing. And yeah, I live way the hell out in Alaska now, but Chicago will always be home and I’ll never root for any other teams than the Bulls and Bears (not much of a baseball or hockey fan).

  • Dre

I have done both and I can tell that a skilled MMA beats a skilled boxer 95% of the time. 90% of real fights end up on the ground and that is where MMA rules. I’m sorry for all of the boxing loyalists but it is what it is.
