According to Yahoo!, the Sixers are now home to Darius Songalia and Craig Brackins. Willie Green and Jason Smith are headed to N.O.: “New Orleans has traded Darius Songalia and Craig Brackins to Philly for Willie Green and Jason Smith, league source tells Y!”

    ok. that’s fine with me

Brackins is a player… Nice pick ups for the Sixers… Looking for some glue guys off the bench.

Don’t sleep on Jason Smith, not a stiff in the least.

willie green is a decent backup at the two, and Jason Smith is fairly athletic. Not a bad move by the Hornets.

Looks like Collins is trying to toughen up this team. First Noch, now Songalia. I like it. Maybe the theme song for this season for the Sixers should be Pete and CL “I Get Physical”.

Or… Let me play conspiracy theorist for a second folks… Brackins, Lou Williams, Iggy and a future #1 for Melo???

  • Fat Lever

Hussman, I like it. Even if Melo doesn’t re-sign with us, what’s the difference in wins with or without Iguodala. 3-5? Not enough to warrant keeping around. Then we get some more cap space.

  • Hussman25

@FL: You could even throw in Kapono into that equasion… It gives Denver exactly what they want… and for us we become a MAJOR player in FA next year… even w/ a new CBA comin up. Cap space and a 5 of Holiday, Turner, Melo, Brand (if you can move him put Nocioni or Young there) and Hawes…

    cp3 is out

Actually here’s a more accurate deal: To Denver Dre, Lou W, Jason C and Craig Brackins (Future 1st Round pick) To Philly: Melo, JR Smith and Renaldo Balkman (Future 1st round pick)…

  • Hussman25

    * Jason Kapono (typo)

    I like Craig Brakins….

So Marcus Thornton and Willie Green are supposed to be backup two-guards off the bench?

  • Fat Lever

You think Melo could handle the Philly fans? I don’t even think he’s coming here, but I’m not sure if he has the skin to withstand the possible criticism. Just sayin.

  • Hussman25

@Fat: Heard thru a Philly on-line news site Melo’s reps have discussed the possibility w/ Melo and AI clearly explained to Melo what it’s like to play here and the media frenzy that happends (See what’s goin on w/ Vick now). So, no… btu w/ Rod Thorn in office he could pull it off… We have the pieces to get it done, but will the front office pull the trigger… Also, does Dougie wanna coach Melo who play’s Bull-fighter defense… (O’lay)

Nawlins should have kept brackins, he has some serious talent. And marcus thornton makes willie green reundant. Dunce move by hornets

    Hussman 25 WTFFFF

Iggy, Lou Williams, and Jason C(Whoever the heck that is) to Denver for Melo ANDDD JR.Smith??? Wtf those three are not worth carmelo anthony alone

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

Wille Green is there purely as a ‘bench filler-outera’.

  • Hussman25

@bashmo: Meant Jason K (for Kapono)… JR is already trade bait as he’s in his final year of his deal… Denver needs to dump salary to stay under the tax… Scorer (Williams) for Scorer (Smith)… Strictly a hypothesis. News here in Philly is that the Sixers “at best” would only be involved as a 3rd team receiving a player, not Melo.
