Javaris Crittenton Looking to Make Bobcats Roster

Crittenton is trying to make it back into the NBA after the infamous locker-room incident with Gilbert Arenas. The WaPo reports: “Javaris Crittenton is hoping to return to the NBA after accepting an invitation to try out for the Charlotte Bobcats in training camp, his agent Mark Bartelstein said on Tuesday. The other half in the infamous altercation with Gilbert Arenas involving guns in a Verizon Center locker room, Crittenton is coming back after missing all of last season, with the final 38 games lost as the result of a season-ending suspension from NBA commissioner David Stern. But that embarrassing incident — which led to Crittenton receiving one year of unsupervised probation and a $1,250 fine after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge in January — overshadowed the fact that the 6-foot-5 point guard was going to miss the entire year anyway because of a severe left ankle injury. Crittenton, whom the Los Angeles Lakers drafted with the 19th overall pick in 2007, had exploratory surgery last October that uncovered a double bone bruise and two strained tendons in his left ankle. He injured his foot playing pickup basketball in his hometown of Atlanta two summers ago, which led to a frustrating season in Washington that began with the team refusing to pick up his fourth-year option and making him a free agent.”

I BET he has a good SHOT at making the team!

  • JoeMaMa

I hope he makes it. He got no burn as a rook on the champion-level Lakers, and was stuck in the PG traffic jam in Memphis. I thought he’d go big in Washington, but sh*t-in-a-shoe Arenas decided to go all Arenas, and here we are.

Gilbert should at least cut him a check from the $100 mil he hasn’t yet earned.

lol, you never hear Critts side of the story….Gil messed it up for the both of them, except Gil was still tied to an $111M contract, Critt was obviously not lol. Real talented cat though, he’ll do well with another shot

We need a knock down shooter i wouldnt mind him. Oh yeah, he can play basketball too. That is a definite plus.

Realistically though, he is a big guard which LB loves. He has a good mid-range game which i like. I would take him over Sherron Collins since we could use him as shooting guard also. But if we are in the business of signing combo guards i want Flip Murray back.

@BETCATS and I thought I was the only Flip Murray fan on here… On my NBA live after winning ‘chip with my blazers (15 years straight) I always shuffle rosters and make very random and equal, I got Flip as my starting 1… Sorry, t.m.i.

I still find it odd that gil had unloaded guns and got a much harsher punishment, whil crit had a loaded one and got off nearly scotfree. But dudes a nice role player
